Beach Waves is a recording of a calm sizzling hot summer day at the water's edge. On one side is calm sparkling water stretching out as far as the eye can see. While on the other side there is endless wilderness - a land of forest, rock and hills.


Where the two meet, the water action has gently smoothed and softened the edges of the stones over the millennia. It is a process that continues today as light waves continue to roll towards shore. When they reach the shore, the gentle waves create musical splashes as they wash over the rocks. This melody forms a counterpoint to the sound of the main breaking waves.

Beach Waves is perfect for relaxation and meditation, or for a cooling ambience. There are no birds or music. It is simply the sounds of water and waves. The recording features a long fade-in at the beginning and a slow fade-out at the end, so there are no sudden disturbing changes in sound volume when played looped. Everything that exists is vibration. Although everything physical appears solid (whether a person, a tree, a rock, a metal, or an entire planet etc.), it is all actually very fluid and vibrating at different rates. Everything that exists is basically composed of different arrangements of electrons, protons, and neutrons.
Matter itself has several divisions such as solids, liquids, gases, ether, super-etheric, subatomic, and atomic.

There is also the Electromagnetic Spectrum (radio waves, microwaves, infared, light, Ultraviolet light, x-rays, gamma rays, magnetism, electricity....)

Basically there are many elements or forces of nature that are INVISIBLE to our physical sensory perception, yet they exist nonetheless, and they are just as real as anything we can sense in our physical, material world.

Take this a step further, the third eye (our sixth sense), chakras, different dimensions, subtle bodies etc. all exist right here and now, but are not perceived by the physical senses.

And just as light, ultraviolet light, gamma rays, radio waves etc. all occupy the same point in space simultaneously, so likewise there are dimensions and beings occupying the same point in space as our physical universe. (This is the truth behind the saying that you don't have to go far to find God. It is a matter of being "tuned in" to the right wavelength or frequency so that we vibrate in unison with higher and purer spiritual planes where there is no death, suffering or hatred. Our very thoughts and actions can shut us out of the purer frequencies and weigh us down to lower levels of being and perception).

It is impossible to feel unhappy when we are offering love for real joy is the result of the flow of love.
There is no more 'in-nature' a state, no closer to heaven, in fact, heaven's singular characteristic is the constant offering of love. To be sure, heaven wishes nothing more than to flow through each of us, empowering and inspiring us with the infinite, spiritual force of the universe. We, with gratitude and determination, do our only work, which is to open our heart and allow this universal flow. This is the true nature of joy or bliss and it is defined by the rate of the flow of love through us. The more we can open our hearts and offer love, the greater our joy. It is the simplest of truths.
In this constant flow there is infinite joy, infinite love and a simplicity of wisdom, that in this world can sometimes seem a philosophical stretch, but while in heaven, common sense.        
The offering of love requires no beliefs, no magical technique, it is the simplest most innate function of human life. It is the first and last thing we do as human beings entering and exiting the earth, and exiting and entering heaven. And it is the last thing we forget, as we leave the spontaneous, unconditional love as an infant, twisting it into the emotional and physical degraded marketplace of romantic love in our teens and later. A major function of our conditioning seems to be to distance and romanticise love to one or at best a few unsatisfying glimpses of human love, so heaven becomes an age away.

There is no other so desperate a condition in our world than humans seeking love. Every problem on this earth arises from this malady. Even the most loving of families would need at least a thousandfold increase in their love (just within the family alone) to begin to grasp the dimensions of this loving flow, but that is not to say that it is difficult. It is not, it is very easy, for the universe once opened to it, powers effortlessly this flow. All we do is open ourselves to the natural, infinite flow of love that arises from the inmost recesses of our hearts. As simple and as impossible as a change of mind, offering love is the purest, most realistic expression of life that is possible.

A valuable person is one who believes that he/she can do anything. With no fear of new tasks there is enormous potential and the possibility to learn quickly, quietly and efficiently. This is the basis of ‘Positive Learning’ and lies at the heart of a meditation lifestyle.
‘Positive Learning’ utilises ‘chunking’ or designing a simple step-by-step process that paces a skill into smaller achievable tasks. For example if you were learning to play the guitar, you might begin by learning how to place your fingers on the fretboard for two simple chords. Then with practise you might try a few more, until eventually you would be able to play a complete song.
As we break down our learning process into steps, we find a circular procedure being formed – the ‘Success Spiral’.
"My heart needs only one thing: it needs to be guided along the age-old path of life-blossoming self-awareness."

The first step in the Success Spiral is to take personal responsibility for our lives. If there is an element of our lives that we are not happy with, then we can do one of two things;
We can defend our present state, lay blame on others or our environment – in which case we 'get what we settle for’. Simply, we extinguish our potential to evolve and diminish our choices. We might find ourselves saying things like - ‘Why should I change when it is Betty who has the problem’ or ‘I will be happy when my husband stops giving me such a hard time’.
Or we can accept responsibility for ourselves and live the adage that all the answers to all of our questions are inside of us. i.e. If I am not happy now, it is because I am not identifying powerfully enough with the infinite joy that is inside my heart, which is my real nature. If I am not being loved now, perhaps it is just as much my responsibility to practise giving love without expectation of any in return and see where it leads.

- Continue your regular, daily meditation practice

How many times in your life have you wondered about the meaning of life: Who am I? Why am I here?
Most people have stopped asking these questions, as if there is perhaps no answer; or if there is, it must not be necessary to know.
Can you see how absurd this is? How are we supposed to have clear life goals if we do not know why we are here?
We have all listened to speakers who were very complex in their arguments; you probably thought ‘I don’t know what he is saying but it sounds important.’ We have learned to value complexity because in our society it meant increased prestige.
So the natural progression of this is, that the most important of all questions must have the most extremely complex answers. Gladly, for us, the opposite is true.
Have you ever said - ‘I know this is right and it doesn’t matter what anyone says, I know this is something I’ve got to do’. Perhaps you touched your heart and continued; ‘because I felt it right here.’ Or perhaps you were reading a particular book or listening to a person speak and suddenly something they said struck a chord and you found yourself saying ‘Yes, that’s right’. Sometimes these feelings might have even defied logic but you knew they were true as grass growing for you. These are the 'Aah' moments of real wisdom.
Wisdom requires not thought but experience, It always feels very simple as it is a revelation of our real self. It is a meditation experience.
What we need to experience wisdom is meditation. To know the meaning of life, we need it in abundance.

Goals

In class 1 you will:

- Learn how to meditate!
- Establish a regular, daily meditation practice
- Practice the basics of concentration and meditative breathing techniques

Meditation is an extremely simple process. It follows three distinct steps

We start with the superficial, scattered mind – (This is the level with which we often carry out our day-to-day chores, ‘bring in the newspaper’, ‘cook the meal’ - it is often characterised by lots of thoughts, positive and negative, with very little control or knowledge of how they got there) If we are often in this state of mind, we will find that we are easily distracted, have difficulty concentrating, probably worry about unimportant things and have little understanding of the real 'us'.
We then progress by virtue of our heart’s concentration - to deeper, analytical thinking. When our mind is focused completely on one thing, we are the most efficient and purposeful in our thinking. (This is the basis of the rules of ‘time-management’ -> to be focused absolutely on one task at a time) The analytical level reveals the deepest we can go with thought. We can use a number of meditation techniques to achieve this, and they will be explored in further classes.
From this very deep thinking we enter into intuitive states, revelations, "I know this is right" feelings or extremely vivid goals or intense creativity or spiritual dreams. When thinking stops and intuitive experience takes over, this is meditation. We call these moments, 'Aah' moments. These moments are where the deepest moments of revelation and intuition are born, and we reveal our real self.
