Network ping
Sends out an ICMP echo request and prints ok if the other host is reachable and responds.

You can enter a valid IPv4 address or a host name
like google.com.

This can be useful to check your home IP based devices and
network connections.

Have you ever been angry about the small callscreen pictures
on your original Android mobile phone ?
It doesn't have to be.

Copy your beautiful pictures to the following SD card folder:
/sdcard/callscreen

This can be done with the PC connected(USB) or with a file Manager like the Astro file manager which is a free download
on Android market.

Please disconnect USB cable from PC when using
this App, otherwise the App may have problems to
access your pictures on the SD card.

When a call arrives the pictures are shown in portrait
orientation ( It is best to provide pictures fitting to your
display size e.g. 800x480 in portrait orientation)
If you touch the picture on the screen the original
callscreen for taking the call is displayed.

Please Give your *.jpg files a name like the incoming number is shown when a phone call arrives.

For Austria it is like that:
"+ccnnnnnnnnnn.jpg"   Full phone number with country code
                              
This may be different in your country !

Callscreen for Austria/Germany/Switzerland

Hat es Sie auch schon geärgert, dass das Bild des Anrufers so klein ist. Das muß nicht so sein.

Kopieren Sie Ihre Lieblingsbilder auf die SD Karte und ordnen Sie eine Telefonnummer zu.

Verzeichnis:
/sdcard/callscreen/

Bitte das USB Kabel zum PC abstecken wenn Sie
ihre Bilder auf die SD Karte kopiert haben,
da sonst die App nicht auf die SD Karte zugreifen kann und beendet wird.

Namensformat für die Bilder(im jpeg Format):
"+ccnnnnnnnnnn.jpg"  
Die vollständige Telefonnummer des Anrufers inklusive Landesvorwahl.

Bei einem Anruf wird nun Ihr Wunschbild angezeigt.
Wenn sie das Bild berühren gelangen Sie zum normalen
Anrufbild (zum entsperren und abheben )

Die Bilder werden bei der
Darstellung an die Breite im Porträt Format angepaßt.
(es ist vorteilhaft die Bilder vorher an die Größe ihres
Displays anzupassen, z.b.: 800x480 als Porträt)

Sie können gerne die App anrufbild_free ausprobieren
(Diese ist auf 2 Anrufbilder eingeschränkt)

With this App you can send a Message and the caller ID to your PC, which will be shown as a POPUP message for some seconds.
If a phone call arrives the number shown on your phone display ( caller ID or incoming phone number) will be shown on your PC screen. The full version will show you also the callers name (when stored on the phone).

The App is written for home office use with direct IP (WLAN) communication possible between your Phone and your home office PC. On the PC side you need a small Java program for displaying the messages.

A Test version can be downloaded here:

If many persons are interested in this app it will be enhanced to display a picture of the caller on the PC or any other data of your choice.  

On the PC side a Java SE Installation is required.
It is also a good thing to have the echo service running on port 7. If there is a firewall active on your pc you need to adapt the rules to allow data flow to port 7 and 6789 (where the message listener runs).

The PC side Java app was tested with Windows XP and
Ubuntu 10.10 Linux.

Check if your home network devices are reachable from your phone. It is possible to add up to 4 device IP addresses to a list.

It shows you:
local IP, Gateway IP, Netmask and DNS Server Address

The App should be useful to check if your home network devices are reachable and responding to network requests.
If a device is responding in time the state "OK" is written to the result list, otherwise "nOK".


This will work best if the host is responding to the echo service which is defined to run on port 7. If you have a machine running windows you may need to enable Simple TCP/IP
services and open your firewall on port 7.

Some phones may not be allowed to use the ICMP(ping)
service from a non root user, but the echo service should
work for any user.

If The IP Address or other values of your phone are "null" or not set your phone has not got an IP from your router or from network yet.

dreambox_message (v. 1.7)

Small App wich can be used to send a message/caller id to your Dreambox Sat receiver. The message/caller id is shown on your TV. This works if your dreambox and phone are
connected to your home network.

It can be useful to inform your children to come into the kitchen because dinner is ready ...
Also it could be some fun and a surprise for your family
and friends.

CLIP function: (also known as caller id)
(Calling Line Information Presentation)
If an incoming phone call arrives the incoming phone
number and name(if stored on phone) is displayed on
your TV as a popup.


Dreambox Setting: Http-Authentification must be switched off

The configuration setting of dreambox IP is stored when
you first time end the app(cancel pressed). This may be needed to work in combination with the CLIP function.

Is is also possible to store a port number when
your dreambox web service is not runnning at default
port 80 ( just write IP:Portnumber ).


If there is some interest in this App it will be enhanced to
display other textual information of your choice.

The App was successfully tested with an Enigma 1 based device. Enigma 2 based devices should work (Feedback is welcomed)

If you want to have message/caller id to be displayed on your PC screen look for the App pc_message.

All sorts of fuel are listed with the price and date when the
price was seen.
