Quick Dial is a widget to instantly dial or text someone in your call or text log...using a minimum amount of screen space.

Remember, this is a widget, so to use it you must add it to your home screen.  This is usually done by long pressing on an empty area of your home screen.

With several widget sizes and configurations, Quick Dial can show up to six contacts in a 4X1 widget to call or text. Swap one of the those contacts for the toggle button and change the action to call or text instantly.  Also has a "large" mode to make the contact buttons a bit larger.

In the donate version, you can have multiple widgets with "favorites" to instantly call or text someone you communicate with frequently.

This Android app provides a GUI for monitoring a Cisco UCS blade system to showcase the XML-API of UCS-Manager.

The status of the UCS system is read initially and will not be updated on an event driven basis. Close the app and open it again to retrieve a refreshed view.

And why does this cost five bucks? Well, that's my interpretation of 'free as in beer'. :-)

This app was created for use with the Nintendo 3DS system. It allows the user to scan QR Codes of Pokemon and display them in an AR view on their 3DS.

Please note, this is a web app. So it does require a network connection. I did it this way to take up less space on the phone. There are a lot of images that will be put up and it would take up too much space.

Pokemon is a Registered Trademark of Nintendo. I don't own it or anything affiliated with the name or company.

Takeout Timer (v. 1.4)

Takeout Timer is an easy way to keep track of when you need to pick up your take out.  After calling a restaurant that you have added, a timer will begin automatically that will notify you when your food is ready. No more need to keep checking the time or phone log to see how long ago you called!

Takeout Timer is also useful as a repository for the places you order from most.  Open it up and you'll have a list of restaurant names and numbers, and you can call them directly by long clicking.

When busy, activate SMS Reply and let it notify the caller via SMS why you could not answer the call. For example, when in a meeting, respond as busy to the incoming call and let SMS Reply send a pre-defined SMS you configured earlier like "In a meeting, will call later".

The Automower Android application is designed specifically to work with a Husqvarna Automower.

Through a simple user interface, you will be able to send instructions that will give you complete remote access:

Thanks to everyone who has downloaded and tried MediaFix, and thanks for adding your reviews here.

I've now changed my phone (my Galaxy S2 died suddenly), and I no longer have any problems with the music on my new one, so I won't be maintaining MediaFix any more ("He's been maintaining it?", I hear you ask!)

Rather than let the code go to waste though, I'm making it available on Bitbucket so that hopefully it can be taken and made to work on devices that are still having problems. Assuming that anyone can understand it, of course!

PLEASE NOTE:

1) MediaFix was created to work around a problem on the Samsung Galaxy S II, and it has only been tested on that device. If you have a different device, it may work (and it's free, so you have nothing to lose by trying it), but don't be surprised (and leave 1-star feedback) if it doesn't work.

2) The app will only process .m4a or .aac tracks. It will ignore any tracks that are not .m4a or .aac.

3) The app only works with tracks that show up in the Music app. It doesn't scan the filesystem for tracks. If you can't see the track when you open Music, MediaFix won't see it either.

Description:

Various versions of Android seem to have trouble handling the metadata tags in audio files, resulting in MediaStore database entries that have incomplete data.

MediaFix scans your MediaStore database for mpeg4 (.m4a or .aac) tracks that have the artist set to "unknown". For each track, it parses the mpeg4 metadata structure in the original file to extract the track title, album name, track artist, track number and disk number, and updates the MediaStore database.

No changes are made to the original tracks on your SD card.

To see a list of files that MediaFix will attempt to fix, tap the "files to fix" number.

Known problems...

I've only really tested on a Samsung Galaxy S II running 2.3.3, as that's my phone. I know that it does work on other devices, but I know that it fails on some too.

I haven't been able to find a way to update the album artists for compilations (I get an "unsupported operation" exception when I try), so compilation albums show the artist for the last track fixed.

There's a bug in Android relating to the way Genres are stored. Samsung has implemented a workaround, so genre updates should work on their devices. On other devices, each track will still appear under the "Unknown" genre, but should also appear under the correct genre.

Disclaimer...

There should be no chance of MediaFix causing any major problems with your device (it only updates the MediaStore database after all), but you USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!! I accept no responsibility for its operation on your device.

Wifi Scan N Keep is a BETA WiFi Scanner with the intention of scanning for nearby Access Points, storing there information, and locating them.

Like similar Apps Wifi Scan N Keep uses your GPS and Access Points' (AP) signal strength to get an idea of the AP's location. Unlike most other Apps Wifi Scan N Keep uses multiple scans, locations, crazy math, and circle magic, in order to find the location of the AP even if you were not able to get in very good range of the AP.

The goal of Wifi Scan N Keep is to both be a useful tool for on the fly wifi scans as well as locating an AP (Even during war driving) to get within a useful if not perfect range for your phone an other devices to use. It is a goal that Wifi Scan N Keep will be a very full BETA with many options that will eventually produce another App with more fire and forget functionality.
