BreathTheWaves is a relaxation app that automatically synchronizes to your breathing and accordingly creates a soundscape such as a seashore. BreathTheWaves helps you maintain attention on your natural breath and can support meditation training by practicing Mindfulness of Breathing.

The full version of BreathTheWaves allows you to determine the duration of your session by setting the timer.

BreathTheWaves uses the motion sensors in your phone, please note that the accuracy of the app is only as good as the accuracy of the sensors in the device this app is installed on.

BreathTheWaves is intended to be used when lying down with your phone placed on your abdomen. Begin a pattern of even regular breathing and the app starts synchronizing to the movements of your abdomen. Remember that BreathTheWaves does not aim to guide your breathing with cues, but rather synchronizes to your natural breathing to promote mindful attention.

After several breaths the app picks up your breathing pattern and starts to create the soundscape. You will appreciate the audio most vividly when using headphones. You can set the desired volume by using the volume buttons on your phone. It is recommended to set your phone to airplane mode to prevent interruption by incoming phone calls.

Scene: BreathTheWaves offers different scenes for producing soundscapes, including 'Seashore' giving rolling wave sounds and 'Deep sea' generating whale sounds.  

Timer: The full version of BreathTheWaves allows you to determine the duration of your session by setting the timer.

History: BreathTheWaves can present a chart displaying your average respiration rate during the session. Note that the app needs to collect sufficient data, and after several minutes you are able to view the history. It is recommended to look at the chart at the end of your session.

Color: You can select your favorite screen color.

Note that the breath detection algorithm is reset when touching the screen.

Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), the medical term for “Acid Reflux” is defined as the product of abnormal reflux of gastric contents into the esophagus thus, creating a mucosal damage, likewise known as the chronic symptom.

This disease strikes adult primarily, while infants and children can also be affected. Normally spurred by eating certain foods, if not pregnancy, or taking a sleep right after eating a heavy meal, a large number of persons suffer from acid reflux at one time or another.

Heartburn or acid indigestion is another name that refers to acid reflux. Heartburn, the major symptom of Acid Reflux in the esophagus, is described to cause a burning uneasiness at the back of the sternum.

The symptoms may come as coughing, voice transformation, hoarseness, constant ear ache, or sinusitis. The complications brought upon by acid reflux may lead to esophageal ulcers or worse this can lead to esophageal cancer.

However, constant heartburn sensations do not necessarily mean that one has captured GERD already. The risk occurs when heartburn happened more than once a week, this occasion could possibly lead in developing GERD.

The usual cause of GERD is the increase in acidity or gastric acid production in the body, obesity, pregnancy, or tight-fitting apparels, these all can add to the problem. The yeast infections are also thought to be one of the causes of GERD-like symptoms.

Random Act of Fitness provides some fun when training with an exercise spinner giving random results and a couple of fitness and training challenges to keep you, you family, your sporting team, your training group or your clients motivated to beat previous times or just beat everyone else.

Firstly, you have the freedom and flexibility to input your personal list of names of individuals competing in the challenges and the freedom to input your own exercises. You will have the ability to modify and delete names and exercises at any time. So, lets have some fun.  

We have the RANDOM SPINNER.
With a flick of the finger the Random Spinner flicks up an Exercise and a Rep to complete. Another flick and another Exercise and Rep. SIMPLE!.
Here is the detail:Pick as many exercises as you want (from the list you have set up), the more the better. Then pick a range of reps you are comfortable with and away you go. This is a great fun training tool for pairs with mate vs mate or for a personal trainer who wants to give a client a bit of a random variety workout. The great thing here is you can choose exercises from the multiple areas or the same area of the body i.e. If you want to work on a clients legs pick 10 leg based exercises and the spinner will spin them at random.

We have the CARD CHALLENGE.
Theres a deck of 40 cards with the card number representing the reps and the suit representing the exercise. Therefore its a four exercises challenge and you need to get through the deck of 40 cards (reps) in your best time.
Here is the detail:Pick the name of the competitor and then pick 4 exercises. Then you are ready to go, start the timer and flip the card. A card number (rep) and exercise appears... go for it and flip for the next card and exercise. Get through the 40 stop the watch and save your result!
This is a great fun training tool for individuals or pairs or for a personal trainer who wants to give a client a bit of a weekly challenge.

We have the TIME CHALLENGE.
The challenge is pick one exercise and do as many as you can in the countdown time selected.  
Here is the detail:Pick the name of the competitor and then pick 1 exercise. Then pick a countdown time and you are ready to go. Start the timer and go for it!. Get through as many as you can before the countdown timer beeps. Type in teh reps completed and save your result!
This is a great fun training tool for individuals or to challenge mates. Also great for a personal trainer who wants to keep tack of their clients strength and improvement levels.

To modify or delete a name just select the name and it appears in the edit box, either click in the box to edit or click the delete button the remove the name. The "Setup Exercises" area works in teh same way.

A Guide to the C Vitamin

The c vitamin has got to be the most widely known vitamin these days. It is not surprising because the body needs c vitamin for over 300 functions. In fact, the c vitamin has been proved to help protect against heart disease, cancer and other serious illnesses. Without the c vitamin the body would not be able to heal itself either. This is because the c vitamin is vital for the formation of collagen. Whenever a person has a cut or an injury it is the collagen that helps repair the damage and without sufficient c vitamin this would be almost impossible. Collagen has a multitude of functions in the body, including keeping the organs in place, and it would not be able to do this without sufficient c vitamin.

The c vitamin is also an antioxidant for the body and helps other vitamins and minerals to be absorbed better. Folic acid and iron, for example, need the c vitamin to maximise their usefulness. The more c vitamin that the body has, the better its defence against colds and other common ailments and the c vitamin may not prevent a person catching a virus but it does help speed up the recovery process.
