Word Search #2 is the second of several in the series, is a fun and exciting game of finding words amongst scrambled characters. Locate the word in the grid and then select by touching the screen and dragging from the first to last character. Do it in a timely manner to try and get the fastest time. Enjoy!

Having a better memory can help you remember names, dates, locations, and recall important information more quickly and accurately.

According to a study published by the University of Michigan (USA), presented at the Association for Psychological Science (Washington), shows that playing “dual n-back” 20 minutes a day of 20 days, may actually improve the working memory (short term memory) and fluid intelligence. The memory task game helps to achieve better results in IQ tests since it increases the ability to reason and develop new problems.

“Fluid Intelligence refers to the ability to reason and to solve new problems independently of previously acquire knowledge” (Jaeggi, M.  S., et al., 2008)

The game "n-back", created by Kirchner, in 1958, is a memory task that encourages the use of "working memory", which has the ability to retain information in short-term memory in an active way, even before interruptions, distractions or interference.

IQ Boost, which is presented here, offers the "dual n-back", which allows display the auditory stimulus at the same rate as spatial stimulus, increasing the difficulty of the game. The difficulty may also be increased by increasing the game’s time and the number of n-previous.

The game, like was presented by the authors’ paper, is quite simple, basically consists of a memory test on a continuous performance task, in which the player saw two series (or only one) of stimuli that were synchronously presented at the rate of 3000ms per stimulus. One string of stimulus consisted of a auditory stimulus (category of animals)  whereas the other string of stimulus consisted of individual spatial locations marked on the screen. The task is to decide for each string whether the current stimulus matched the one that was presented n-previous in the series.

This mental exercise is great for children or adults who, when interrupted or distracted by something, have difficulty remembering what he they was doing.

Dear all,

Recently, I had really problems with my short-term memory, and this my recent inability led me troubles to recall conversations that happened days, hours or minutes before, and sometimes I get confused when I watch TV, working in a paper, reading books, cooking or anything else that I needed to be focused and be reminded of what I was doing.

These sort of problems are called action slips (forgetting what I'm doing following an interruption) and retrospective memory problems (forgetting a detail about a past event). But I have prospective memory problems too, which includes forgetting to do something (failure to remember to close the door, feed the dog, post a letter, an appointment, etc.).

This memory failures during my daily activities, had begun to disrupt my quality of life, and making tasks at home and at work very difficult and painful.

I went to the doctor (psychiatrist) who told me that my problem was not Alzheimer's disease or another type of dementia, as I thought it was. In fact, according the psychiatrist, the problem was temporary and caused by stress.

A stressful life or a depression can affect our ability to store an recall memories and the mental processes are slowed, and the working memory is particularly affect.

In order to solve my problem without having to make extensive us of drugs, I started a better diet, walking a hour a day without any chance of being interrupted... and I studied others (technological) alternatives: I did some research and I read some working papers about these issues.

I was lucky to read an awesome scientific paper about the working memory and fluid intelligence, and based on this scientific study, published by the University of Michigan (USA),I built this app that helped me to regain my memory.

This is a lightweight version. It's a fastest and simplest version. App has low size. That's why there is no leaderboard and some additional features. So this version is recommended for users who had a problem with an original version or who has low memory on the device.

1.It is a game to touch as for the same character as the character set.

2.The problem can select categories such as animals and vehicles.

3.The hiragana and the katakana can be selected.

4.The color of the character to touch changes. Moreover, the character to touch rotates. The rotation speed can be chosen according to four stages including no rotation. When it is the velocity, even the adult : to a difficult speed.
