Halma is a board game invented in 1883 or 1884 by an American thoracic surgeon at Harvard Medical School, George Howard Monks. The inspiration was an English game called Hoppity.
Playing equipment consists of a checkered board. Pieces are typically black and white for two-player games, and of various colours or other distinction in games of four players, placed on opposing corners of the board. The goal of the game is to transfer all of one's pieces from one's own camp into the camp in the opposing corner. Each turn, a player either moves a single piece to an adjacent open square, or jumps over one or more pieces in sequence.

WARNING:  This software is still ALPHA!!!
There are still a few bugs in it, but if you're willing to try it out, you should be able to play a full game of chess with people across the internet.

This application is the product of a senior design project by CS students at UConn.

To use this application, install and start it up.  The first thing you're going to need to do the first time you start the game is click 'Settings', enter a username and password, and click 'Submit'.  You will need an internet connection for this part.  If you successfully connect, you will be notified with a toast.  Now you can start new local games or browse/start new online games by clicking 'New Game'.  You can browse your currently active games by clicking 'Active Games'.

While in-game, you make moves by clicking a piece and then clicking a highlighted space.  You can cancel your move by clicking the red 'X' or confirm/submit your move by clicking the green '+'.

The eight queens puzzle is the problem of placing eight chess queens on an 8×8 chessboard so that no two queens attack each other. Thus, a solution requires that no two queens share the same row, column, or diagonal.

8 queens are placed at the bottom of chess board and user needs to click the queen first and then where to place it.
Game does not allow to place any queen against chess rules.

User who can place all queens in chess board so that no two queens attack each other successfully will win the game.

* A Zookeeper needs to bring a Horse, Lion and Hay across a river using a raft.

* The raft can carry only 2 passengers at a time.

* The Zookeeper must be on the raft in order to steer it.

* The Horse and the Hay must not be alone together without the Zookeeper being present, else it will eat the Hay.

* The Lion and the Horse must not be alone together without the Zookeper's presence, else the Lion will kill the Horse.

Open-source Android implementation of the popular board game Blokus. With very smooth Drag & Drop user interface.

A family game involving four players and a board with 20 x 20 squares. Like chess or checkers, it's a game for which at any time you can see your opponent's pieces.

Each player starts with 21 pieces : 1 monomino, 1 domono, 2 triominos, 5 tetraminos and 12 pentaminos. It may recall you the Tetris polyominos...

"For first round, I must place a piece so that it touches one of the corners of the board"

"Next, a piece must be placed so that it touches a corner of one of my own pieces.
It may touch several corners, but never any side/edge of my pieces!" Look at screenshots.

The game has a nice and natural User Interface : just Drag & Drop the piece with the finger. Rotate a piece likewise. And return a piece with a long press.

"If a cannot place any more piece I pass my turn."

The end of the game is reached when every player passes.
"My score is : addition of the squares of the pieces I placed".

Refer to 'Menu > Help' inside the app. With several screenshots.

You can safely quit at any time : your current game will be restored on next startup.


You play against the machine. You can configure the level of corresponding Artificial Intelligence : 4 levels. Refer to Menu > Preferences

The software has no unobtrusive banner advertising.
Once installed, you can play off-line.
