Somebody Save Me

This app is the companion to Emergency Text Alert (ETA).  Please download Emergency Text Alert.

It could save your life.  Or it could keep you from getting really upset with someone.

After your “hero” downloads and sets up ETA, you download this app and…

Select your “hero” from the Contact List.  Check to see that the phone number that is selected is correct.  If not, edit it manually.

Enter the Alert, Emergency, and Disable codes that match the entries in the hero’s ETA app.

To trigger an Alert or Emergency, select this app and click on one of the buttons.

To cancel an Alert or Emergency, select the app and click on Disable.

If you have enabled (Settings/Location & Security) “Use wireless networks” or “Use GPS satellites” your location will be transmitted along with any Alert or Emergency message.

Emergency Text Alert

It could save someone you love.  Or maybe just save you from being chewed out because you didn’t hear that important text arrive and never even checked for the little icon at the top of the screen.

Here’s how it works.  Download the app, then…

Select anyone in your contact list.

Enter the code words or phrases that will trigger an Alert, an Emergency, or will be used to disable either.

Be sure to select a code that is unlikely to occur in any text message.

If the potential caller has an Android Phone, have them download SomebodySaveMe.  Enter the matching codes in that program.  Otherwise, just let them know the codes.

When a code is detected in a Text Message, a Notification will be posted.  The Notification will repeat every two minutes.  To respond, pull down the Notification Bar and click on the Notification.  You’ll be able to click and call back the calling number.

If the caller is using SomebodySaveMe, and has a location service activated, you’ll get a map of the caller’s location.
