myLock was designed to offer an option to disable the lockscreen and customize more about how and when to lock.
If your device has android 2.1 (also known as eclair) version you can take advantage of these great customizations. This app is the DONATE version. Please download it for free on our website page if you would rather.



DO NOT USE with android 2.2 or later. It will not work under the newer Froyo/2.2 or later android versions because of major changes to the lockscreen security system. I have no way to block this from being downloaded on 2.2 devices once it is in the market.

For the motorola droid, we have designed a remedy to random face dialing as well as some additional ways to accept/reject calls besides the onscreen sliders. The beta is now retired. Feel free to switch to the currently supported app, myLock utilities. Phone call answering only supported prior to android gingerbread and google removed the ability for apps to let you answer/reject phone calls. Sad.

This was designed by popular demand from users of our lockscreen app. I am sorry at the moment we have only been able to optimize it for the droid, which is the phone I have. If it isn't working well for you due to blocking some of your caller ID screen, try the latest revision we have included in the myLock utilities app.

Features:
1- Options to accept/reject calls via buttons instead of the touch sliders (beta- may not launch every time)

2- Touchscreen lock in calls. When the screen sleeps, touch input will be locked. Camera or trackball must be pressed after wakeup to re-enable touchscreen.

Auto unlock instead of having to press menu. Includes status toggle widget, idle lock, & slider guard capabilities

Built for Android 1.5/1.6.
Doesn't seem to work on motoblur devices. Don't know why.

This addon lets you control myLock state from any profile app. Set the enable or disable helper apps with your desired conditions. myLock automatically pauses/restores pattern security.

Try with Locale- plugin is under construction.

myLock was designed as a solution to the nonexistence of customization about whether to have a lockscreen.

As android has evolved, the ability to customize this via our app has been weakened in the process of android security revision.

This version allows you to disable lockscreen so you will automatically unlock past the lockscreen when you wake up the phone. It also has a beta advanced mode which allows normally locked buttons to wake up the phone. It is designed to unlock if a button is pressed again once it has awakened. This feature is exclusive to the donation version.

There is also a status widget you use to turn on myLock without having to go through the settings screen.

Please note that this does not work with security lockscreens. It can only work if you have no password or pattern unlock enabled.

myLock is open source and user feedback driven. By donating 2 bucks you make up for those who can't or won't pay even 1.

Addon - requires myLock android 2.0+ package, and security mode enabled.

While myLock is running, pattern requirement is disabled. After set amount of idle time, pattern lockdown is restored. Unlocking the pattern restarts myLock

Use the myLock to enable quick unlock, incoming call options, and in-call touchscreen lock.

*Quick unlock--- automatically bypasses the unlock slider when you turn on the screen. Customizable for phones with slideout keypad.

*In-call touchscreen lock--- if you experience face dialing/muting/hangup because your touchscreen wakes up during phone calls, enable the lock. You can unlock by trackball/camera button when you do need to use the screen in-call. Otherwise, touch input is blocked after the screen goes to sleep during a call.

*Incoming call prompt--- avoid the incoming call sliders by enabling onscreen or button based call accept & reject. It appears this does not work on the newly released android 2.3 gingerbread. I am working on figuring out if there is any fix.



Optional myLock widget can be placed on the home screen for quick toggle of quick unlock mode.

myLock utilities is open source and has been developed under constant feedback and popular request from the user community. If you want to donate we have a plus purchase available. If you want to complain see below.


Important usage tips:
*Disable quick unlock before using alarm (this is an issue on HTC sense devices).

*Remove any task killer app for best results. Task killer apps are obsolete as of android 2.0 and later since automatic memory management is now part of the main android operating system. I am not responsible for any problems encountered while running task killer apps.

*Not for use with secure pin, password, or pattern lockscreens. Only functional to quick unlock the basic slide lockscreen. As of android version 2.2 This is the case. Older myLock utility version had security functions, but there is no way to make it interact with security in the newest android updates.

*Sometimes apps that are more memory heavy can slightly slow the quick unlock. This is dependent on your device performance and the app that was displaying when the phone went to sleep. There is no way we can speed this up, apps using more memory take time on some phones to be ready to take the screen after phone wakeup. That's one reason there is a lockscreen by design in this type of operating system.
