Living Worlds (v. 1.0.2)
Manchester Museum опубликовал приложение 2011-11-21
This app accompanies the exhibition ‘Living Worlds’ which opened at The Manchester Museum, UK, in 2011, but you don’t have to visit the exhibition to enjoy the app. The app is about the natural world and people’s relationships with it; it has been developed to appeal to a very wide range of interests so there should be something to interest you. It is intended to support you to get more involved with nature in ways that suit you and is provided free of charge; it can also help support the UK National Curriculum for KS3 and above. You can explore images, facts and stories about the hundreds of wonderful museum specimens included in the exhibition. These include large spectacular stuffed animals, tiny insects, beautiful birds, minerals, plants and a variety of other objects. The app contains detailed information on each specimen along with beautiful images of the animals and plants in their natural environment, provided by Arkive, the ultimate multimedia guide to the world's endangered species. Films of people talking about their own personal views and work relating to nature are included in the app and will be added over time. The Manchester Museum is the largest university museum in the UK and has some of the finest collections in the country, including birds collected by Charles Darwin, live South American frogs, Egyptian mummies and meteorites dating back to the formation of the solar system. The app has been developed by museum curators, working with academics throughout the University of Manchester. The app (like the exhibition) has been designed by villa eugénie, one of the leading stagers of fashion events in the world, and Mubaloo, the UK’s largest mobile application developer. |
