This is just a simple volume control app that I wrote in a couple of hours. I wrote it for one person, but I figured that if anyone else could make use of it, it might be worth publishing.

Designed for developers but beneficial to all... it's almost too much information! It's better than looking under the hood, it's like having a glass engine!


See exhaustive lists of information about all of your apps from a developer's point of view, and see what permissions your apps have, including the ones your device came with when you bought it.

Andee Exposed provides you list of all the permissions that every app on your device uses, allows you select a permission and see what apps use it. Even developers will be surprised to learn about all the permissions available.

If you are a developer your time is money. You can write your own routines to peek under the hood, but you won't need to with Andee Exposed. In seconds you can see the information the Android APIs provide about every app on your device.

Time saved is money in the bank! If you use this app once, it will pay for itself. Beyond that, the ROI just keeps growing.

Do you ever find yourself wondering how you could possibly have blown through your network usage limits? Oh, only every month? Yea... I've been there... so I wrote this app.

Network Observer provides you with total useage statistics, network information, and best of all, shows you on an app by app basis, how much network data is flowing to and from each app.

Network Observer is great for fishing out those data hogs, and also allows you to find apps that you didn't even realize used the network. Some of those things that get installed on your phone, even before you buy it, are just downright nosey little apps!

Network Observer will help you protect your privacy, limit your network usage, and find those apps you forgot you had that still use the network.

Let the Earth's magnetic field generate your lottery numbers!

Quick-picks, and almost every other number picker out there use Pseudo-Random Number Generation algorithms. They aren't really random, and they all get their numbers the same way. And that method is the one that hasn't been working for you all this time!

Lottery Loser uses your device's magnetometer for number selection. The magnetometer measures the Earth's magnetic field, that's how your compass apps work. Readings are taken from the magnetometer and the numbers are run through a gentle algorithm to fit them into the valid lottery number ranges that you select.

This means that every place on Earth is going to give you different values!!!

Do you have a favorite place? A sacred place? A place where something very lucky happened to you? Perhaps where you met your spouse... or maybe anywhere BUT there. ;)

The Earth's magnetic field is constantly fluctuating. There are an unlimited number of ideas to try. Has there been a recent solar flare? That will affect the magnetic field too!

You can go anywhere, and generate numbers as often as you want because the fields are always fluctuating and you'll always get different values.

It's like a feng shui number selector!

So why the name Lottery Loser? Isn't that going to drive people away? Is it bad luck?

Before actors go on stage their colleagues tell them "Break a leg"! Are they being mean? No, they believe that being wished good luck is a curse, so they wish each other bad luck in hope that the opposite will occur.

Also, I'm an honest guy. I know that almost everybody loses every lottery drawing. Sometimes everybody loses! So the only thing I can truly guarantee is that my app will generate lots of losing numbers.

HOWEVER, there has never been a number picker that allows you to select numbers by tuning into the Earth itself. This is a totally new concept, completely unexplored! It's something new to try that may just change your luck!

DroidDream Malware Patch (v. 1.4)

I originally wrote this app in about 30 minutes, but have since added features and made it a bit more visually appealing.

It lists the files in /system and /system/bin. It will tell you if /system/bin/profile exists.

It now also searches for apps with names matching reported infected app names. I did read that Google pulled the plug on those apps, so you may not even need this, but it can't hurt to try. It's free.

It's crude, and will only "patch" an uninfected rooted phone by placing an empty file named "profile" into /system/bin which according to the people at AndroidPolice.com and forum.xda-developers.com is the simplest way to block the DroidDream trojan from working.

I have very little knowledge of this malware, I'm just going by what was said on these two websites. I haven't tested the program to see if it really blocks the malware on a rooted phone, so if you try it, and find that it works, please let me know!

This app can still help you even if your phone is not rooted.

If /system/bin/profile exists, it will will say "/system/bin/profile exists!". If you have run no other patch, and this is the first time you have run this app, the "profile" file may be from DroidDream, in which case you may want to start shopping around for software that can detect and remove DroidDream.

If /system/bin/profile does not exist, it will try to create it, and since your phone isn't rooted, it will say "/system/bin/profile can not be created!" I can't assure you that you are uninfected, but I believe this would be one indicator that you're safe for now. (Please correct me if I'm wrong!)

I'm sure within a day or two there will be plenty of patches for this problem, but until then, hopefully this little app will give you the info you need.

I'm not an expert on this malware/trojan horse. I read up on it, took what I learned and wrote an app to see if the file existed.

I figured I'd post it so others can use it to figure out where they stand as well.

I'm a panhandler, but this is not a scam; all will become crystal clear as you read on.

When you buy a bag of chips, the bag is half full, but you buy it anyway. You're paying for something; what is IT?

Those 9/10ths on the gas station price signs never change.  You aren't fooled, yet you chose to buy what was being sold; what is IT?

When you buy a bottle of water priced more than a soda, and the water is the same municipal water that's used in soda, you paid extra for something; what is IT?

We all know we're getting ripped off by product manufacturers every time we buy something. Rarely is there a good deal, and never do you get your money's worth. Those extra dollars and cents just slip right through our fingers night and day, but we still give them away.

So, here's my pitch. I want to sell you some IT. But it's good IT. Normally when you drop money in a panhandler's unwashed hand you do so because it makes you feel good. And that's the benefit of buying the IT I'm selling - you'll know you did a good thing. Plus you'll get an app that has a few interesting functions... so you aren't really losing anything. You're just buying more IT, and feeling good about being helpful.

You're probably wondering if I am a worthy cause. I'll spare you the hard-luck story that led me to panhandling... and NOT having to listen to the story is worth a buck right there... but trust me when I say that when you buy a
product from me, your money isn't going to contribute to a substance abuse problem or to support a slacker who won't work for a living.

I'm a non-hedonistic, clean-cut software engineer with a family, working hard to put the Fortune into a Fortune 100 company. But I still live paycheck to paycheck. None of that Fortune comes my way.

I have big dreams of making the world a better place, and running the rat race is preventing me from doing so!

When I buy a lottery ticket, I dream of doing socially responsible things like purchasing land to expand the nature parks I so dearly love, and obtaining freedom to innovate - to bring to light all the creative ideas that I have day in and day out. But the next day when I look at my losing ticket, I realize I've bought more of IT.

How can I possibly make a difference in the world? I can do it with your help.

I think you'll feel good about buying my app. You are a contributor that will give me the freedom to act as an agent of good in the world. It's like losing the lottery but choosing who wins. Entrust your spare change to a person who will forever appreciate what you have done.

Heck, I can't even give my pocket change to my own children and get appreciation, they don't love me for less than a ten-spot. This is a great deal!

Feature 1: Feel-good inspirational quotes, refreshed every 15 seconds from a list of hundreds.

Feature 2: I wanted to send you a "good vibe" whenever you might be down and in need of an emotional boost, so I used the phone's vibrator feature to make one available to you at the touch of a button any time you need it.

Instead of just turning on the vibrator to give you that vibe, I tied the vibrator to the phone's magnetometer (the device in your phone that senses the Earth's magnetic field).

The good vibrations come from fluctuations in the magnetometer amplified by the vibrator. You can tune in to the Earth's magnetic field and allow the energy to flow into you.

Even if you hold the phone motionless in your hand your heartbeat will still move the phone ever so slightly, sending an oscillation into Earth's magnetic field. Could this tiny ripple become significant? Remember the concept of the Butterfly Effect? Or, Oh No, 2012! ;)
