The Amsterdam-North Travellers Problem
Any Northerners (home or work) know the problem:
You're at Central station next to the ferry and want as quickly as possible to go home or get to work. The fastest ferry that leaves goes to the wrong side of the north, forcing you to cycle further. But the 'good' ferry doesn't leave for 10 more minutes? Which ferry do you choose?
Even more difficult is if you're somewhere in the center of North and you want to get to Central station quickly. Which ferry do you choose then?
This application calculates based on your point of departure, destination and bike speed and the actual departure of the ferries which is your fastest option:
How long you have to cycle to any ferry;
How long you need to wait;
How long the ferry takes to reach the opposite side;
How long you have to cycle on the other side.
