Easy Units is a measurement converter that is intended to be easy to use and contain common units of measure which people might encounter in their everyday lives. It also includes some uncommon units, in case anyone needs them. Currently, Metric (SI), US Customary Units, Canadian Units, and British Imperial Units are all supported.
As the name implies, Easy Units is much easier to use than many other measurement converters. You simply press the button for the type of measurement you would like to convert (distance, speed, weight, etc.), enter the number you would like to convert in the text box at the top of the screen, select the unit to convert from on the left, select the unit to convert to on the right, and press the convert button at the bottom of the screen. The result will be calculated and displayed at the bottom of the screen. When you are ready to convert another number, you simply press the 'Reset' button at the top of the screen and enter the new information. After each conversion, a convenient scale is displayed at the bottom of the screen, consisting of two bars, which show a size comparison of the two units of measure selected in the conversion. The smaller unit is displayed in the top bar, and the larger unit is displayed in the bottom bar.
Input is very user friendly, allowing whole numbers, decimals, and even fractions. Whole numbers of up to 40 digits may be entered, and fractions may contain up to 10 digits in either the numerator or the denominator. Fractions are automatically converted to decimals. Excessively small or large numbers are automatically converted to scientific notation, while all other numbers are displayed in decimal format. The app also allows input of negative temperatures.
Units are listed in order from smallest to largest, first in metric (SI) and then the non-metric units of measure.
