'The Self-Employed Housekeeping Manual' is written for aspiring individuals who naturally gear toward cleaning and might be looking for a new profession.  Also an interesting read for those who are intrigued by the general concept of housekeeping and the systems that are necessary.
This manual was written by a college graduate who was a self-employed housekeeper for twelve years.  She shares with the reader what to expect, know, and do in order to be successful in the housekeeping industry.  
With seven chapters, the author covers the basic knowledge needed to clean houses, but also discusses the importance of attitude, and working with clients.
There is also an excerpt from an hour and a half cleaning session called "The morning work of six blue towels," which helps to visualize housekeeping as a workout.
This how-to manual is an easy read with focused content, but does not discuss any tax responsibility regarding self-employment.
