AC Motor is a reference app and calculator for 3 phase induction motors, the most commonly used motors in industry. It contains tables of NEMA and IEC frame dimensions, full load currents, conductor ampacities (with ambient temperature and conduit fill adjustment factors automatically applied). It will size auxiliary components (NEMA starters, short circuit protection and overload protection) according to NEC and NEMA standards.

AC Motor also contains calculators for both balanced and unbalanced 3-phase power.  It will calculate apparent power (kVA), active power (kW) and reactive power consumption (kVAR), as well as mechanical power and torque output.

It does not cover all possible scenarios that an engineer or electrician might encounter, just the most common, ie continuous duty, non-design E, low voltage (≤ 600 V), integral Hp, 3 phase induction motors.

Conductor ampacities, full load currents and component sizing are based on the 2011 National Electrical Code (NFPA-70).
