All-in-one screen shows all running/recent/launchable tasks and services, and allows switching to or stopping them.

Can be used as a task switcher, task killer, service stopper, app drawer, app launcher, or package browser.

Buttons along the top select which kind of tasks/services to include in the display. Alternatively, search for apps by name. Everything is color-coded and clearly labeled.

To run this while in another app, long-press the SEARCH key. (Some apps intercept this, so for them it's necessary to press HOME first.) It can also be run from a desktop icon or launcher.

Tap the name of any launchable app to run it. Long-press on any app for its Application Info screen, to examine or clear or force-stop it.

Notes:

Automatic task killers are counter-productive. For any unwanted active app, highlighted in green or brown, just LONG-PRESS its name then click FORCE-STOP.

Show the processor and memory and storage use by percent, in a compact 1x1 widget. No drain on battery, no spooky permissions, no ads.

When a resource get close to 100% (full), color changes to red. Low pct mean light use, shown in green. Sampling is done once per minute (by clock ticks, not adjustable). Tap on widget to update immediately.

To install, long-press an empty spot on your home screen, select "Widget", then pick our "Usage Widget".

Notes:

CPU measures processor use, ranging from near 0% when sleeping to near 100% when inefficient or runaway processes drain battery and result in sluggish response.

RAM is free memory available to the CPU to run apps and services. When full, Android OS kills idle or "unimportant" ones, such as widgets or backgound services.

INT is internal storage storage is disk space to store apps and their unexported data and cache (temporary files). When that fills, you can't install any more apps. (We don't distinguish /system from /data. Should we?)

EXT is external (removable) storage on the SD card. That's where you save pictures and music etc. EXT is accessible from a PC via the USB charge cord.

Displays the current time and date and time zone. No ads or intrusive permissions or location tracking.

Shows either 12-hour (am/pm) or 24-hour time. Text color indicates local daylight, night, and twilight (approximately).

Click the widget to launch a related app (e.g., desk/alarm clock or calendar), or switch to a different time zone.

To install, long-press on an empty home screen spot, pick "Widgets", then choose our Clock Widget.

Catty Battery Widget (v. 4.3)

A compact 1x1 widget to display battery info. No ads, etc.

* Gives the standard percentage. When charging, a "+" replaces the "%".

* Also shows voltage, separately. Most batteries charge up to 4.2v but rapidly fall to 4.0, then slowly fall to 3.5v, then must be recharged to prevent failure.

* Shows battery temperature, to avoid overheating it. (Not the local weather, but we're working on that.)

* Gives an estimate of battery use remaining. Depends on use of the screen and radios and music, and high-CPU apps.

* All numbers are color-coded for high (green), medium (yellow), and low (red).

* Tapping the widget runs the system battery utility.

To install, just long-press an empty spot on the home screen, select "Widgets", and select our "Battery Widget".
