Cryopshere Today is a simple program designed to give you access to the data from Cryosphere Today's wonderful website.  This allows you to see daily data on the state of our arctic and antarctic ice caps.  The buttons at the bottom allow you to see different types of graphical data.  The app is free.

OpenMapLite is a simple ad supported application that uses the OpenStreetMap project from www.openstreetmap.org.  Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, CC-BY-SA.  There are four options in the main menu for the program.  

Global brings up the entire Earth.  Move and zoom however you like.

Locate Me uses the GPS (if available) to zoom to your location.  Again, you may move and zoom as you like.

Follow Me uses the GPS (if available) to follow your movements on the map.

About brings up the About dialog box.

Gauges (v. 1.0)

Turn your android into your own personal dashboard.  Gauges uses your GPS to get your current speed and bearing.  It displays both in analog and digital format.  Use the menu key to switch between KPH and MPH.  This app can be downright handy if you travel between the US and Canada and have to switch between MPH and KPH.

Simple Traffic (v. 2.0)

This simple, ad supported app uses your GPS along with Google Maps to show traffic in your area. Your screen stays on while the app is open.  Use the menus to enter Pan mode.  This will allow you to pan around the map. The Follow Me option follows your location as you move around. Use this app rather than a GPS, when you know your way, but need traffic info.  The app was beta tested in New York City. It got me across Long Island, Queens and Manhattan in record time on one of the heaviest traveled days of the summer.  Get it, and get going!

Get Unstuck (v. 1.0)

Press again to follow your location. Use this app when you know your way, but need traffic info.  Beta Tested in New York City. Get it, and Get Unstuck!

Hurricane Watch is an application designed to give you access to the National Hurricane Center forecasts for both the Atlantic and Pacific (US an surrounding area) oceans.  The data is in the public domain and the app is ad supported.  The buttons and icons are from www.clkr.com.

Aurora is a simple program designed to give you access to the forecasts for the Auroral activity for both the northern and southern hemispheres.  Use this to figure out if you can see the northern or southern lights from your location.  The data are from the US Space Weather Forecast Center and are in the public domain.
