Nach dem großen Erfolg von Couleurbummel für iPhone ist nun auf vielfachen Wunsch auch eine Android-Version verfügbar!

Couleurbummel soll den Weg zu den verschiedenen Verbindungshäusern in vielen Städten Deutschlands, Österreichs und der Schweiz weisen.

Diese App ist auch ein ideales Werkzeug für Aktiven- oder Fuxenfahrten: Kein nerviges Herumschleppen von Papierstadtplänen mehr, auf denen einige Häuser undeutlich eingezeichnet sind.

Die App erfordert drei Berechtigungen, nämlich Internetzugriff, das Positionssignal und das Wählen von Telefonnummern. Letztere braucht die App nur, damit man Telefonnummern antippen und die ausgewählte Verbindung aus der App heraus anrufen kann.

Mittlerweile sind 1172 Verbindungen an 108 Hochschulorten in Deutschland verzeichnet. Unterstützung gibt es derzeit für folgende Städte:

Ursprünglich gestartet als "Couleurbummel Aachen" führte die positive Resonanz schnell dazu, dass weitere Städte hinzugefügt wurden.
Das Aachener Verbindungsleben alleine rechtfertigt bereits die Reise in die altehrwürdige Kaiserstadt. Neben der Vielfalt der ansässigen Verbindungen ist man auf jedem Haus ist man willkommen; völlig egal in welchem Verband!

Couleurbummel hat auch eine gleichnamige Seite auf Facebook, auf der regelmäßig Informationen über die App veröffentlicht werden und natürlich ebenfalls Feedback abgegeben werden kann.

Die App verfügt auch über einen Spenden-Knopf, den man bei den Einstellungen findet. Durch Antippen öffnet sich die PayPal-Webseite, über die man einen selbst gewählten Betrag spenden kann.


Couleurbummel für iPhone (und nun auch für Android) war von Anfang an ein Projekt, das ich aus Spaß am Entwickeln für Apples Plattformen umgesetzt habe und es wird aus diesem Grunde auch immer kostenlos und vor allem werbefrei bleiben. Ehrensache.
Die Idee hinter der App war, dass ich es im Hinblick auf unser 100. Stiftungsfest leid war, für Gäste auf Aktivenfahrt nach Aachen Kreuzchen auf Stadtplänen zu machen, wo sich die Häuser befinden. Denn Stadtpläne sind unpraktisch und haben weder Hintergrundbeleuchtung, noch einen GPS-Chip und man kann sie schwierig vervielfältigen.

Da ich jetzt schon mehrfach gefragt worden bin, wo denn der Spenden-Button sei, ist ein solcher nun unauffällig integriert.
Wenn diese Anwendung das Leben erleichtert oder sogar eine Aktivenfahrt gerettet, ermöglicht oder provoziert hat, freue ich mich natürlich trotzdem über jede Zuwendung für das eine oder andere Bier oder eine Spende an die Märker-Fuxenkasse (bitte einfach im PayPal-Kommentarfeld einen Hinweis hinterlassen).

Basic User Guide

Touch and drag to move map, pinch to zooom, tap on + button to zoom in, tap on - button to zoom out, tap on an object (street or point) to view its name, double tap or touch and hold (long press) on an object (street or point) to set that object as start waypoint or target waypoint.

There is an option to load routing nodes into memory. Select this option to speed up calculation of shortest/fastest route.

How to use turn by turn navigation:
1. Define start waypoint and target waypoint then select AutoRouting from main menu to calculate shortest/fastest route. The application will remember your route.
2. Turn on "In Car Navigation When GPS Tracking/Routing" and "Keep On Road When Tracking" options in Setup menu
3. Select GPS tracking from main menu.
4. Wait until the application receive the first GPS signal. (It may take a few minutes to get GPS fix depend on your phone GPS receiver).
5. Mount your phone on the phone handle in your car.
6. Drive along the shortest/fastest route highlight on the map, the application will speak to you with voice guidance (turn left or turn right).
7. Follow the turn by turn navigation instructions you will reach the target waypoint.

OpenStreetMap is a collaborative, wiki-like mapping project. Because of openly-editable wiki nature of the OpenStreetMap, map data is subjected to mapping errors. The application will able to find correct shortest/fastest route most of the times, however we can not guarantee the application is ALWAYS able to find correct shortest/fastest route with OpenStreetMap data.

If YES, “Fare Meter” is for you.

Fare Meter lets you find and compare fares between any two locations for different service providers. It uses GPS/ Wi-Fi/ Mobile networks to identify your current location so that you don’t have to input it every time you check for fares to any destination. The app is integrated with Google Maps and shows the route that you would be taking. You can also share your current location and fare information with your friends over Facebook/Gmail/Twitter.

The application comes configured with tariff presets for 17 cities in India. It also allows you to add your own services or tariff presets or edit existing ones to update fares, if they change. Which means this app can be used anywhere.
