Shows the Wifi signal strength in dBm in the status bar.
The notification is only shown if the phone is connected to a Wifi network. It is possible to change the color of the
notification in the settings. The refresh rate depends on Android.
The Application is started after the start of the mobile phone if you do not deactivate this in the settings.

Tested on:
- HTC Desire
- HTC Desire HD

I heard that this application is not working correctly on the Galaxy S2. I got an error report but still don't know why it is not working. :(
Please upload an error report if it crashs.
Update: 1 user said it is working - 1 said it is not - 1vs1 - don't know ;P

Proximity Sensor Finder does what it says - it helps you locate the proximity sensor on your Android device.  It is a very simple, purpose-built app with no flashy graphics.

Proximity Sensor Finder tells you a few things about your device:

  1. Does the device have a proximity sensor?
  2. Is an object in close proximity detected?
  3. Does this device support actual proximity distances or just "covered" and "uncovered" sensor states?
  4. For supported devices, exactly how far away is the object?
  5. How long has the sensor been covered?
  6. How much power is the proximity sensor consuming?

We developed Proximity Sensor Finder as an internal testing tool but it soon became apparent that there was a need in the market for just such an app, so we decided to ship it and make it free!

Q.: Is the application working when I read ON or OFF on the button?
A.: The application is not working when you can read the red word "OFF" on the button and it's working when you can read the green word "ON" on the button.

Q.: Why i'm hearing an hiss? / Why I don't hear nothing?
A.: The app plays an high frequency sound. Some people under 30 years old can hear the sound, while over a certain age (variable from person to person) the ear lose the ability to hear high frequency sounds.

Q.: Mosquitoes don't have ears, how do they hear sounds??
A.: Insects don't have ears, but on feelers, that are the mosquitoes aural organs, there are about 15.000 sensorial receptors, structured so to create an "active ear" in which natural vibrations are generated so to amplify the incoming sounds. [Source: Le Scienze on-line]

Q.: Are you telling me that the phone loudspeaker can play ultrasounds?
A.: Actually the frequency used in NoMoreMosquitoes is slightly under the ultrasounds threshold frequency. But it's very close to the limit that can be heard by the human ear (20 kHz), so for the sake of simplicity we called it "ultrasound", because a lot of people can't hear it.
