Elastic* is a simple rock physics calculator for petroleum geophysicists and engineers. Elastic* takes some basic acoustic parameters and gives elastic moduli. Quickly check your intuition or speculate about seismic response.
The tool is very simple. Just enter a density, at least one velocity value, and hit the Calculate button. If you only provide one velocity (Vp or Vs), and don't give a Vp:Vs ratio, the tool assumes a Vp:Vs ratio of 2.0. Conversely, if you provide velocities then anything you enter in Vp:Vs is ignored.

[2011-05-22] A Google User: Something different in the world of apps Congratulations, a very nice app and a first in the world of apps, Android or iOS, a app in my area of professional interest. It installs and works fine on my HTC evo. Being an unapologetic nerd, I check a few results. The only reason it is a 4 instead of a 5 is its limited scope. If you are continuing to develop it, I agree choice of units and/or unit converter would be nice. If you are feeling really ambitious, the ability to save and cross plot a sequence of calculations would be really nice. |
