[2013-09-12] A Google User: Good! I would like example sentences and phrase searching, maybe even famous Chinese historical figures whose names come up often in studying Chinese history. |
[2013-09-08] A Google User: Best Chinese dictionary I really like the new back up feature for my starred lists. Ohw! Keep up the great work. |
[2013-09-05] A Google User: I love this app I use it all of the time while I'm in Shanghai. All offline means I can use every feature without having to buy a Chinese SIM. When I take a picture of a menu to translate, it makes my iPhone friends jealous just like the description says :) |
[2013-08-28] A Google User: Excellent dictionary with exceptions... Needs a few additional features, like brush strokes and order, better OCR, and colloquial verbiage. |
[2013-08-26] A Google User: Use it all the time I'm not sure I need the pro version but I used the free version so much I wanted to support the developer |
[2013-08-26] A Google User: The best for English/Chinese lookup I had the free version and for such excellent software I decided to get the paid version although the free one is good enough for me. |
[2013-08-24] A Google User: Best app for learning Chinese Great to learn chinese, can draw a character to know what it means. Works like a charm. |
[2013-08-23] A Google User: Perfect! This app got be through chinese. They should add a "use it in a sentence" feature to clear up confusion with characters with similar meanings. |
[2013-08-23] A Google User: Indispensable Best dictionary app here. Get the ABC dictionary and OCR (which works way better than any other I've tried) if you're serious about learning Chinese. |
[2013-08-22] A Google User: The best! This app is fast and accurate. It was very helpful during my month of intensive Chinese lessons in Beijing, not only in the classroom but also just living in the city, communicating with Chinese friends, etc. Buy it! |
[2013-08-22] A Google User: Fantastic My most used app, works perfectly. Never had performance issues even before i upgraded to a new phone. Well worth it for the pro version, the ABC dictionaries and the camera. Keep doing what you're doing! |
[2013-08-20] A Google User: Working well This app is working perfectly fine. |
[2013-08-18] A Google User: Why have I been downgraded to lite? I have pro installed which I paid for a few months ago.I found the app very user friendly and clearly the best app in its class.today however I want to use and find I have been downgraded to lite.how do I get back my pro account.I don't expect what service i pay for to disappear. Also I don't expect to have to go through the trouble to contact you to get my account reinstalled.I paid for this app. I am very disappointed. |
[2013-08-15] A Google User: My comment It is good. But the audio is not too good.. |
[2013-08-15] A Google User: Very Good - my favorite Chinese dictionary app that I cannot live without! Well thought UI and good functionality. Happy to support development by paying little bit for the pro version of the application. Suggestion: I wish the favorite words would be marked in the search result lists. Update: Efficiency impact could be managed by making this configuration option. There could be two rounds in producing the search result list. One round to start generating and showing the search result, the second to mark the favorite words in the result list. If the result list were above some threshold length, the markings could be disabled. Suggestion2: Typical use case for me: I switch between instant message application and Hanping dictionary. I use this app as a tool to help with translation. I just copy & paste the Chinese message and find it cut in pieces with translation for each word or simple phrase. For longer message this does not work any more conveniently though, because the distance between the pasted message and the fragments. If the original text could be read from the presentation of the fragments (which would then need to show numbers, punctuation, repetitions in some way etc), this use case would work very well. Configuration option again? |
[2013-08-11] A Google User: Excellent Chinese Dictionary Latest update make this dictionary even better. Thank you very much for this great app! |
[2013-08-11] A Google User: Amazing! As title says, it's friggin' amazing! Best way to search for characters (just draw it on your device). Worth the money and then some. Thanks for making this! |
[2013-08-11] A Google User: Truly brilliant By far the most useful tool I've come across for learning Chinese. Absolutely brilliant. Solid, useful updates and a great developer. ABC additions are definitely worth it too if you're interested in Chinese. This was the first app I considered worth paying for (the only one for a good while). Excellent |
[2013-08-11] A Google User: Perfect Never fails, always working great. |
[2013-08-11] A Google User: Fabulous Chinese Dictionary By far the best Chinese English dictionary out there. Would be even better if it had the option of doing tests for hsk which the nciku dictionary app has |
[2013-08-11] A Google User: Love this app This is an excellent app it's very helpful. |
[2013-08-11] A Google User: Love it Thanks for making it. |
[2013-07-19] A Google User: Good I was pleased by purchasing this software. Friendly interface, really convenient and cool designe. It would be nice to have example texts to see how the word actually used in practice. |
[2013-07-18] A Google User: Best Chinese dictionary The ABC add on isn't cheap, but if you're a serous student of Chinese well worth it. |
[2013-07-18] A Google User: Excellent dictionary, easy to use. Allows the user to break up phrases to analyze each word. |
[2013-07-15] A Google User: Still the best after years The best. Also have another major CN dictionary app installed (sort of for second opinion) but rarely use it. Also love the quiz widget. Have been using it for years and never disappointed. Handwriting also fantastic (I try to make a point of not using ocr to be forced to write occasionally) |
[2013-07-05] A Google User: Outstanding dictionary I got problems with the sound data, but the team of Embermitre contacted really fast and solved the problem. When downloading the sound data try to have a reliable connection to the internet at that moment. Congrats with the app! Really useful in my daily life in China :) |
[2013-06-30] A Google User: Indispensable I use it all the time. Love it. Gets better and better. Highly recommended. |
[2013-06-30] A Google User: 1000 times better Now that it has radical search! Sometimes I just can't get the Strokes. So A++ for Radical search! |
[2013-06-29] A Google User: Living in china... And this dictionary has been invaluable. On several occasions Chinese people have asked me where to get this dictionary because they didn't expect it to have slang. Excellent app |
[2013-06-29] A Google User: Best Android Chinese dictionary Hanping Pro is easily the best Chinese dictionary on the market. I've been using it for years and it keeps getting better! I have word lists for study, favorite words and even character input. |

[2013-06-29] A Google User: The best! This is simply the best Chinese dictionary for Android. It has all the words, even idioms and slang. I used this app a lot the last time I was in China. |
[2013-06-26] A Google User: Worth every penny The only app I've ever paid for. Makes business a pleasure when working in China. |
[2013-06-26] A Google User: 5/5 Love this app especially the translation for idioms |
[2013-06-25] A Google User: Excellent This version is noticeably faster when searching for a Pinyin definition. |
[2013-06-25] A Google User: great best Chinese dictionary app I've used |
[2013-06-25] A Google User: good app good chinese dic |
[2013-06-19] A Google User: Amazing app Absolutely perfect. This thing taught me Chinese. I got to the point where people call me 中国通 and are amazed I've never taken a class. Ten stars. |
[2013-06-14] A Google User: Good but limited Very fast app and great offline mode. Useful for single words, but can't translate sentences. Also, if a Chinese person uses the drawing function to write in characters, you can't get a translation except at best word for word. More useful for students than for people living or working in China. |
[2013-06-10] A Google User: Fantastic Used this on my travels through china. It is amazing. |
[2013-06-03] A Google User: Awesome Wish you could have different star lists. Would like to group words and phrases into themes to help with revision. |
[2013-05-31] A Google User: Amazing I was just in China, and my trip was far easier thanks to this wonderful program. Can't recommend it highly enough. |
[2013-05-24] A Google User: Amazing app - love it Excellent |
[2013-05-20] A Google User: So good If you got anything to do with Chinese language you will want this! if only this would sync my starred words between devices this would be perfect. Now I am kinda of lost when I sometimes use my work phone, sometimes free time phone and sometimes tablet and every device has some same and many different words.. |
[2013-05-16] A Google User: Soooo good :) My Chinese teacher is crazy! But this app has gotten me through second semester and will get me through next year. I want to send flowers to whoever made this :) |
[2013-05-02] A Google User: Very good! I used to have a electronic dictionary to translate between Chinese and English but once I started using this app I no longer need that anymore. |
[2013-04-29] A Google User: 5 stars The pro version is worth every penny you paid for it, hand writing, voice, radicals lookup... |
[2013-03-22] A Google User: Very good The writing and listening features are most appreciated and unique |
[2013-03-08] A Google User: 5 star Extremely useful tool. Well worth the asking price. |
[2013-03-05] A Google User: Spot on. This app has helped me so much! |
[2013-03-01] A Google User: I am impressed Just bought and tried few handwritten words with audio. Simply perfect. Hats off to the developer !! |
[2013-02-28] A Google User: Amazing Hands down the best dictionary I've had. Now that it has radicals as well as pinyin and handwriting it's perfect. |
[2013-02-19] A Google User: Awesome I am very thankful for this app! Thank u.. Worth every penny! |
[2013-02-19] A Google User: Hanping pro Five star!!!!! |
[2013-02-13] A Google User: Can't Live Without It This is one of the best investments I had made, totally no regret. Since I am using this app on 3 Android devices, I hope the developer can find a way to help users manage their starred items across different devices. |
[2013-02-13] A Google User: Best Chinese Dict |
[2013-02-12] A Google User: Best Chinese dictionary app out there Have used for 2.5 years and theres nothing that comes close to comparing. |
[2013-02-12] A Google User: Great, Tablet configurations and lists please Great app. 2 improvements for 5 stars. Tablet configuration. I have a Nexus 10 and it is not using any of that extra space at all. For instance, having the word show offline (or online) example sentences next to the word in all that extra space might be good. Also having a list feature which allows us to easily add words to differnet lists and EXPORT them when we flash new android OS's so we can keep our study lists would be AWESOME. Thanks. |
[2013-02-06] A Google User: Good but handwriting recognition needs improvement As the title above states, the software is generally good. However, it failed to recognise the character 唵 when written with the Galaxy Note S Pen. |
[2013-02-03] A Google User: Instant translation It is certainly a very useful free app. I am an Oversea Chinese with rudimentary knowledge of written Chinese. This app gives me instant translation when need. Keep up with good work, perhaps try to reduced the number of updates a little. |
[2013-02-02] A Google User: Best in class Been using this for years, right back with WinCE. Has only gotten better |
[2013-02-01] A Google User: Great app well worth paying for. I have tried other dictionaries on my phone and in my opinion this is the best. I liked the free version and upgraded because i wanted the handwriting recognition. All works great and it integrates well with the Hanping Chinese Camera too which I also love. I had some queries and the developer got back to me in a matter of hours. All happy. Highly recommend. |
[2013-02-01] A Google User: Great dictionary, dedicated developer! More than worth the price! |
[2013-02-01] A Google User: comprehensive the best out there. |
[2013-02-01] A Google User: The Number 1 Chinese dictionary on Android Worth every dollar paid. Keep up the good work. |
[2013-02-01] A Google User: very, very useful and powerful It keeps getting better and better. Thank you! Handwriting works very well with fingers on HTC Sensation. New radical search is a great feature - especially while I am learning. For learners like me it would be great to have more example phrases ... the phrases and examples which are already available help a lot to understand in which context a word can be used. And it would be great to have an explanation for the abbreviations (N., V., B.F., Adv., ...) used in the dictionary (in a small pop-up screen?). |
[2013-01-26] A Google User: Great little dictionary |
[2013-01-26] A Google User: Love it. I love the app. Makes learning or remembering forgotten words or phrases easily excess. |
[2013-01-23] A Google User: Totally worth the price Probably the best app I've bought since I got my phone. It's so helpful to have a handwriting recognizer when I encounter a character I don't know. The interface is excellent, the definitions comprehensive, and I appreciate that it also sorts traditional characters. |
[2013-01-18] A Google User: Duh The most useful tool of my Chinese learning career! |
[2013-01-11] A Google User: Best translation app available I've used hanshin since it was released write some time ago, and all I can say is... It is the best translation application out there. Try the free version, then buy it :) |
[2013-01-11] A Google User: Excellent The only mandarin dictionary I need. Great flexible searching. Recent update to tag your starred list by category was exactly the upgrade I was hoping for! I find the widget flashcards an extremely useful way to learn characters. Better than Pleco! |
[2013-01-10] A Google User: Unbelievable Like everybody said, this is the best dictionary in the android platform (galaxy). I had no problem using it in the past 2 months but I can't believe the updates, THEY JUST KEEP ON MAKING IT BETTER. really care for us people who wants to learn the language. Thank you for your genuine desire in helping other people. Moreover, the price is very considerate. We actually got more than what we paid for. Xie xie ni. :-) |
[2013-01-10] A Google User: Best money I've spent on an app I took this app with me on my last trip to Taiwan. My formal Chinese language education covered only simplified characters, so traditional characters can sometimes give me problems. This was an invaluable application and my well-worn Chinese-English English-Chinese dictionary stayed in my hotel room for the duration of my trip. It also helped out when I got beyond my limited vocabulary and had to translate from English on the fly. It's fast, the handwriting recognizer is pretty accurate (though you need a large block of text for it to work well), and cheap. Well worth the cost. |
[2012-12-28] A Google User: Hanping pro The most useful application for anyone learnin Chinese. |
[2012-12-20] A Google User: Use it every day Irreplaceable application for anyone that uses Chinese language. For travels, etc. Been using it for almost two years now. I can't imagine life without this application :) |
[2012-12-18] A Google User: Great but needs one more feature!! I love the app. Definitely very helpful. However, if it had Cantonese audio for Cantonese speakers to learn the language that would be awesome! |
[2012-12-12] A Google User: Great Chinese wordbook |
[2012-12-10] A Google User: Great app Very useful! |
[2012-12-08] A Google User: Great, helped me get around Beijing and Sanya! The speed and versatility of this dictionary made it my "go-to" application whilst I traveled over 3,000 km in China this summer. The paid version is definitely worth the price! 从阿富汗,谢谢! |
[2012-12-05] A Google User: IPhone version? Truly an excellent app. What would make this absolutely perfect is if there were an iPhone version (Pleco has a terrible interface) - lots more users willing to pay as well |
[2012-12-05] A Google User: The best - very useful Very handy and i think this is the best. Like this so much. |
[2012-12-04] A Google User: Save/export history feature? After a long session of looking up new vocab, is love to be able to export my history to a list for future reference and sharing with others. It doesn't seem to be possible, st the moment. |
[2012-12-04] A Google User: Very good! I have been using this dictionary for more than a year now and I recommend this dictionary to anyone learning Chinese - no matter at what level! |
[2012-12-01] A Google User: Hanping Pro Very easy to master Chinese with Hanping Pro. Excellent support for beginners and you'll progress very fast once you are familiar with the app. |
[2012-11-16] A Google User: Excellent |
[2012-11-16] A Google User: icon apps the best. last update the icon is not hanping but android man. pls fix. |
[2012-11-14] A Google User: Best app i've bought Living in china, i've used this so many times, with the ocr I can now even do an extra rinse on my washing machine. I wish I could install the add ons easier, too much trouble taking my sim out |
[2012-11-14] A Google User: Invaluable Excellent app; worth every penny and my constant companion in my Mandarin studies. Developer was extremely helpful when I had a query. |
[2012-11-12] A Google User: Best Chinese Dictionary App! Easy to use, widget as flashcard for learning, HSK word lists. Color used for tones, etc. The Hanping Chinese Camera add-ons is also amazing. Dev. is so responsive! Great work! ;) |
[2012-11-12] A Google User: Search improved The search speed improvement really made the difference. it was embarrassing to see G-spot come up whenever I started typing g words. |
[2012-11-11] A Google User: Excellent Extremely well researched app, attention to detail is superb. Very easy to use as well. |
[2012-11-10] A Google User: Text to sound does not work Audio library files cannot be downloaded and download is stuck at 1%. |
[2012-11-02] A Google User: Consistent updates, great app. |
[2012-10-26] A Google User: Great program! This is an essential tool for learning and improving Chinese. I have been using this program for years will running a company in china helping me translate tricky expressions in emails and chat programs. |
[2012-10-26] A Google User: Perfect! I went a week ago to China not knowing any chinese word but this friend was a huge help. Thanks much! |
[2012-10-23] A Google User: Great reference. This app is a great reference for someone learning Chinese. |
[2012-10-21] A Google User: Very good This app is a must-have for Chinese learners. Although the price is not cheap but, in my opinion, it's worthy. |
[2012-10-21] A Google User: Excellent app with superb support My Chinese wife and I have been using Hanping Pro for over a year, and it's remained our primary point of reference bidirectionally. Rarely do we ever have to use another reference. One update caused some technical issues on my tablet, and the developer was quick to respond, and resolved the issue in short order. We have a very positive experience with Hanping. |
