New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is your official electronic guide to the festival! Organize and expand your festival experience in one handy app. Create your schedule, read about the bands and food, browse media and find your way around using the map. Features include:

- Music Lineup: See every artist and where they are playing. Add filters by day and/or stage to drill down to what you want to see. Sort by name or time in any view. Add or remove artists from your schedule with one touch.

- Food Lineup: See every food item available at Jazz Fest and which area they are located in. Touch a button to add food to your favorties.

- Now Playing: View all artists playing within the next two hours in the music lineup. See what's coming up on your personal schedule as well.

- Artist Info: Click on any artist in any list and read their bio, watch videos, go to the artist web site or go to iTunes to download their latest release.

- Social Media Integration: For any artist, take a picture from inside the app and have the caption automatically filled in with artist and stage info. Push the photo up to Facebook. You can also update your Facebook status or tweet about the bands.

Known Issues

Some devices running Android OS 2.2 may not support the latest audio framework that supports playback of network audio streams. Media Button Router works with your Bluetooth stereo. Gone are the days when you were limited to a single app that would launch and play music when you hit the play button on your stereo. This app lets you, the user, decide what app should play music when you hit the play, previous, or next button on your stereo.  It prompts you with text-to-speech, and lets you select by hitting previous to go back an app, next to go forward an app, and hitting play to select the app that you want to use.  If music is already playing, Media Button Router stays out of the way, and lets whatever app that is playing the music handle media button presses.  You can now have a fully hands-free music experience.


Please note that this app is targeted towards Bluetooth devices that have at least Play/Pause, Previous, and Next buttons.  Also note that this app will not be compatible with all music apps. It has been tested, and works with at least the following apps: MixZing, PowerAMP, ³(Cubed), Android’s default music app, Pandora, and the latest version of Amazon MP3. It works most of the time with Google Listen and Rhapsody. Winamp is not supported.  In order for your music apps to work, you will likely have to enable a “headset controls” option in each app’s preferences.

Rude Drum Training (v. 0.7.7)

The Rude app will:
* Show notation of all 40 official rudiments, with name and order according to PAS.
* Visually indicate where you are in the pattern, synchronized with the built-in metronome.
* Keep the tempo using the most accurate metronome engine available on Android.
* Allow tempo adjustments between 20 and 240 BPM.
* Navigate quickly and intuitively between rudiments and tempos, with support for most input methods (including media buttons, remote controls and screen swipes).
* Link to textual descriptions and instructional videos showing all the patterns individually, on pad and examples applied to drum set. (The videos and examples are published at rude.skrivarna.com.)

What it doesn't do:
* It does not attempt to play the rudiments with the built-in midi sounds. No offense, but in this case your phone sucks. Rather than trying to program a midi sequence to faithfully reproduce a buzz roll or flam, the app opens videos of professional performances with a single click.

NOTE: This is still a beta version, released in public to get more feedback and help with testing. I have only a few real phones to test on, so I would really appreciate comments on how this small app behaves, looks and performs on different Android versions and hardware models. If you mail me at software (at) skrivarna.com I can get back with updated versions or questions and answers if needed.

Of course, any suggestions on additional features, improvements and corrections of the actual contents are very welcome. Use the software (at) skrivarna.com mail for this as well. This is also true for the examples at rude.skrivarna.com, please send me a mail with any comments.

And yes, I am aware that some of the rudiments, official or not, have different possible interpretations in how they are played and notated. In most cases I have used the most common form (as far as I understand), but there is also a trade-off in making the notation viewable on a small screen and making the underlying code somewhat maintainable. If you have a strong opinion on this and think I have made the wrong choice, don't hesitate to contact me. I will do my best to be as correct as possible.

This player will download and play music files stored on your home computer.

None of your music files gets uploaded anywhere except your Android Device.
