A simple application to calculate the CHADS2 and HAS-BLED scores side-by-side to help in calculating the risk-benefit ratio to giving anticoagulation in patients with atrial fibrillation.  

The CHADS-BLED Calculator displays percentage risk of adverse event per year, as well as the raw data from the original trials upon which these scores were derived.

FATE (Focus Assessed Transthoracic Echocardiography) is the original focused echocardiography protocol practiced since 1989 as a supplement to the clinical evaluation. FATE is easily and quickly learned and meets the basic echocardiographic needs for the non-cardiologist in order to guide cardiopulmonary optimization in all relevant clinical scenarios and locations. FATE can be performed in few seconds or extended to a more comprehensive echocardiographic examination depending on the clinical requirements.

Fire engine red is an intense, bright red commonly used on emergency vehicles in the United States; mostly on, as the name implies, fire engines.

Most traditional older fire departments in larger U.S. central cities of major metropolitan areas use this color for their fire engines, but many smaller cities and also many suburbs now use the color chartreuse yellow for their fire engines because of its supposed greater visibility at night. Some departments have a mix of both.


An ambulance is a vehicle for transportation of sick or injured people to, from or between places of treatment for an illness or injury, and in some instances will also provide out of hospital medical care to the patient. The word is often associated with road going emergency ambulances which form part of an emergency medical service, administering emergency care to those with acute medical problems.
The term ambulance does however extend to a wider range of vehicles other than those with flashing warning lights and sirens, including a large number of non-urgent ambulances which are for transport of patients without an urgent acute condition and a wide range of vehicles including trucks, vans, bicycles, motorbikes, station wagons, buses, helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, boats, and even hospital ships.
