The Irish Kidney Association introduce their new Organ Donor ECard ...

There is a shortage of organ donors, worldwide.

Currently in Ireland 650 people are awaiting transplantation. This will only happen if suitable organ donors are found for them. Transplantation is entirely reliant on the public’s willingness to donate organs.

Your next-of-kin are more likely to carry out your wish to donate your organs after your death, if they have had a conversation with you, or they can see evidence of your wish somewhere.

The traditional organ donor card is one such tool that conveys this message to them.

This organ donor E-Card is another, maybe more convenient method, for you to convey the message to your family and the emergency services. As part of the App we will send a free sms text message to your next-of-kin to start the conversation rolling.

When a National Organ Donor Registry (a central database) is established we will ask you to submit the details in your App so you can be included on the Registry.

Please keep this App symbol on the front page of your phone. The emergency services will be trained to look for it to identify you.

BACula for Android calculates your estimated BAC based on gender, weight, the number of drinks and how long you've been drinking.  Unlike many other BAC calculators in the market, BACula doesn't just do one time calculations, but keeps track of your estimated BAC in real time as the night goes on.

BACula is the simplest BAC calculator in the market.  Just set the time you started drinking and increment your drinks as the night goes on.  Additionally, BACula allows you to share you "accomplishments" via Facebook, Twitter or SMS!

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System's Android application provides the user with a dynamic listing of our services, locations and physicians.  Physicians are easy to search based on geographic location, keywords or specialties.  Physicians can also be stored as “favorites” for quick look-up.  SMH facilities are all pinned on a dynamic map which allows the user to find out which walk-in centers, emergency rooms or any other SMH locations are closest.  GPS navigation can be used to direct the user to any facility or physician in the system.  And, our services are listed alphabetically displaying full, formatted descriptions and information when selected.  The clean design combined with a smooth, vibrant user interface makes the task of discovering and contacting SMH simple and effective.
