   Kids ABC Phonics teaches letter sounds and the basics of blending, but does not teach the next step, which is fluency in actual reading.   Developing reading skills is a separate educational goal, which is covered in a separate game, called Kids Learn to Read, which was featured at the Google I/O on May 11th.  Including in-depth reading skills in Kids ABC Phonics would detract from the focus of this game and make it too complex to invite and delight children.

   The game has four wonderfully child-friendly sections.

   ➊ Learn Letter Sounds. Kids hold and turn a picture-filled letter block and hear the ABC phonics being pronounced.

   ➋ Build Letter Blocks. Children have fun building phonics recognition skills by making their own ABC blocks.

   ➌  Pop Letter Bubbles. Kids love to pop bubbles. But don't be fooled.  By the time children are done with this game, they will know what letter goes with which sound by heart.

   ➍ Make words. While putting puzzles together, kids learn the basics of phonics blending.  These skills will be further exercised and expanded in the upcoming Kids Reading game.

   Every section is designed so children enjoy success time after time and receive positive reinforcement from the likable lady teacher. So they want to keep learning.

TIPS

- Different tones applied to a word may change the meaning so try to listen to the audio carefully and repeat the words or phrases several times first or practice with the locals to get the hang of it.
- Pronouns are gender-specific, like I for example. For females it's 'Chan' or 'Di-Chan' and for males it's 'Pom'.
- Apart from pronouns there are the words that apply to the end of a sentence where we use 'Krap' for a male and 'Ka' for a female.
- Other things to be aware of when reading the transliterations of Thai words are:
   -'Ph' is pronounced as a soft 'P' as in 'pie'. It is NEVER used to make an 'F' sound
   - 'P' on its own is used for a hard 'P' which can sound almost like a 'B'
   - 'Th' is pronounced as a soft 'T' sound as in 'top'. Thai does not have a 'th' sound as in 'the'
   - 'Kh' is used for a soft 'K' sound, while 'K' on its own is a hard 'K' which is close to a 'G'
