Here is the answer to those tiresome multiplication table exercises with your child.  This Android app will flash a sequence of multiplication table questions, and you child will enter the answers to each using a virtual numeric keypad with nice large keys.  The virtual keypad even has a “delete” key so that hitting the wrong button can be corrected before getting charged with a wrong answer.   Each question will be selected randomly by the program.  You (or your child) can select the total number of questions for the sequence before the start.  Since a given sequence will have no repeated questions, there can be up to 28 different questions in the sequence.  Another unique feature that distinguishes this app from the countless other flash-card type apps: after each incorrect answer the subject is forced to view the multiplication table so that he/she is forced to become familiar with the table and its relationships.  

The number of correct and incorrect answers is tallied and displayed at the end of the session so that you can verify your child’s progress.  In constructing the multiplication table questions the numbers 10 and 2 are omitted because they make the multiplication question too easy, and the child would be annoyed at having to waste time answering trivial questions.

CloudVoc is a free service. It helps you to learn vocabulary on different devices. It doesn't matter where you are. CloudVoc lets you train your vocabulary anywhere.

CloudVoc consists of www.cloudvoc.mobi and this app. The special feature of CloudVoc is to synchronize (sync) data from cloud and other Android devices (smartphones, tablets, Google TV ...).
For example: You have entered some vocabulary at home into your PC. In the evening you have to take a train. Using your cell phone you will be able to study the same vocabulary you've typed into your computer at home. It's very comfortable, isn't it?

All you need is a CloudVoc account. This account is also free. Just log in, to view all your vocabulary that's already in the cloud. If you want to sync your cell phone and the cloud use the same name and log into your cell phone. All vocabulary from the cloud will be synchronized to your cell phone and from the cell phone to the cloud. Now data in the cloud and on your cell phone/ tablet are identical.

CloudVoc syncs vocabulary, groups and statistics of your training results.

About Gwangju Biennale and Gwangju Design Biennale

The Metropolitan City of Gwangju is a city of art, culture and high-tech industries with photonics and green energy businesses. As a city of art and culture, Gwangju and Gwangju biennale Foundation host two different biennales including international contemporary art festival, Gwangju Biennale and Gwangju Design Biennale established in 1995 and 2004. 1st of September this year is the kick-off for the 4th edition of Gwangju Design Biennale.

What was design? Design was the nineteenth-century child of Western art, architecture, and the crafts. It centered on the creation of industrially produced, mobile objects that moved freely within the global market. The designed object functioned as the aesthetic, technological, and economic focal point of the 20th century. As its movement provided the fulcrum of monumental shifts in power and imagination, it was the symbol, image, tool, and agent par excellence of modernity.


What is design? The world is changing and so is design. The shifting networks and nodes of the global world, the movement of wealth and production, the emergence of new media, the changing values of local and global communities have refocused the issues, problems, and potential of design. Design can no longer be viewed as a privileged hegemony of a limited set of names, objects, forms and modes of production based on an increasingly outdated worldview. We must understand design as a fundamental act of intervening in the way we live.
