Helping Your Child Learn Geography

Remember thumbing through an atlas or encyclopedia as a child, imagining yourself as a world traveler on a safari in Africa, or boating up the Mississippi River, climbing the peaks of the Himalayas, visiting ancient cathedrals and castles of Europe, the Great Wall of China? We do. The world seemed full of faraway, exotic, and wonderful places that we wanted to know more about.

Today, we would like to believe that youngsters are growing up similarly inquisitive about the world. Perhaps they are, but recent studies and reports indicate that, if such imaginings are stirring in our youngsters, they're not being translated into knowledge. Not that there ever was a "golden age" when all our young and all our citizens were conversant about the peoples and places of the globe. Still, there is considerable evidence that such knowledge among young Americans has dipped to an alarming low.

Learning should not be restricted to the classroom. Parents are a child's first teachers and can do much to advance a youngster's geographic knowledge. This guide suggests some ways to do so.

Arithmetics is a fast paced Math workout, it repeatedly asks you simple customizable arithmetic math questions like 2+2 or 14*17 with variable difficulty.

Arithmetics was designed to be fully customizable and allows you to flash the screen green/red if you get a question right/wrong. It can also play a sound (Buzzer and pling noise).

Arithmetics allows you to choose which operators to ask, so you can disable subtraction, division and multiplication and only use addition if you like.

Arithmetics also allows you vary the difficulty of the questions by allowing you to change the highest number that can be asked. e.g you can change addition's highest number to 1000 and get questions like 343+784

Also PS. The screenshots look a bit jittery around the timer area because its quite hard to take a picture of moving text, so imagine a timer there.

1/22/2011  I Made a discovery!!! You can upload the apk from the app, but when it comes time to choose the browser you want to use, just don't use the default android browser. I just tested it with opera mobile and it worked fine. So do that if you need to upload from device. download opera mobile from the market and set it as the browser you want to use for uploading apk. Also if you want you can got to my website from your computer and upload it there too. http://cmoney12051.com

For some time now I have been getting emails from random people who have seen my apps on the market, and then see that I used Google's App Inventor to make them, and then see that I was actually able to publish the app in the market. And they all want the same thing, for me to make their apps market ready. So that is the main point of this app, To help you, help yourself. First I will try and show you how to do it yourself, with a video, and then I will show you actual forum where I learned how to publish the app. And then finally if you so choose you may send me the app and I will set it up for you. But please don't send me junk. I will be looking at each app just to make sure, I don't want to be the cause for filling the market with more useless junk.

App Inventor Extender
The actual .apk file for your app saved on the sd card
Active data connection

Once I receive the app I will do my best to get it done right away for you, but im not a machine so even though it only takes about 5 minutes to do it. Expect most of them to be done my 10pm est because that is when im home working on this stuff. Maybe you can use that as an incentive to learn it on your own lol.
