Call Announcer provides an audible caller id for your Android phone.  Utilizing your contact list and Google’s Text to Speech (TTS) capabilities, all incoming calls are announced alone or over your current ring tone.  Incoming SMS messages can also be announced and Read.  All announcements are fully customizable.

This application does not announce calls over Bluetooth devices.  Buying the license for the application will not enable that functionality.

Text messages can be announced over some Bluetooth devices.  Try the free version to see if it works with your device.

Thanks for this application This helps me out alot because it tells me whose calling as well as texting me, even when I'm busy, or just tuckered out. everyone that here's my phone talking ends up getting this as well.

Works well for Samsung Exhibit II 4G Does exactly what I want and does it very well. Fully configurable and appears to be regularly updated. Paid for the license even though I don't need the extra features because the developer deserves it.

Super Fantastic app.with unique features..this o e has forced me to write a comment....the best. Just 1 thing...it speaks even wen the phine is in vibration mode only...please fix it as many people keep their phones in vibration mode so that they can know whoz calling without dustuebing others,....apart from that...DESERVES 5 $TAR$

I think this is a great software Just downloaded and installed the app, looks great. Did a test, I sent a SMS to myself and it announced my name before it plays the message alert tone nice. Only the voice is like a robot, would be nice if the voice would be much feminine.

Nexus Issues This worked great when I had it running on my HTC Desire Z running Gingerbread but since switching to the Galaxy Nexus running stock ICS it's hit or miss if it's going to work or not. I've gotten to the point where I'm not using it for text notifications any longer and have added an additional ringtone for calls so that I have some indication of an incoming call.
