The instrument is one of the most respected percussion instruments from West Africa. The instrument takes place in African society as a social instrument that is used in cases of celebration or gathering with family and friends. Playing the drum by Africans is often taught from childhood through practice and experience.
Musicians who play this instrument well, like to have a written guidance for the rhythms and sessions they wish to bring together in practice. With the aim of the musician fullest possible support to his or her musical development, we decided to publish a new edition of existing djembe rhythms documented in several formats. An explanation of the described formats is available for use on the djembe and dounset.

"The rapid materialistic growth and technological development in our country has thrown up a wide range of job opportunities to our youth. It has also exposed them to a variety of scientific gadgets and the latest means of communication. On the downside, however, today's youth lack exposure to our basic value systems and moral codes. They also lack sufficient awareness about the Armed Forces.

The Armed Forces, and their elite office cadre in particular, have traditionally displayed the highest degree of personal qualities and values. However, over time, there has been a degeneration of personal values in the outside world. This has had a negative influence on our youth, which in turn could adversely affect the overall character development of young officers in the Armed Forces.

In view of this, 'Role Model' aims to highlight and showcase the importance of character in the personality development of our young men and particularly those in the Armed Forces. The men in uniform are always expected to be role models to the outside world.

Ted E. Hurlburt  (“Mr. Ted”) has been in the ministry for over 60 years. A graduate of San Jose Bible College in 1948 (William Jessup University today located in Rocklin California). He held pastorates  in California, Oregon and Hawaii.  He taught at the Zimbabwe Christian College in Harare and at his alma mater. He has traveled over 15 times  to almost all the major sites and cities mentioned in the New Testament.  In 2005 he was a co-founder of and teacher at the Inland Empire Bible Institute at Colton California.  A man with a great Love for God and people.  Mr. Ted is married to Dorothy Hoy since 1948 and have a son and two daughters.

A couple of years back, everyone thought it was cool to smoke in public. Some people even implied that smoking helped you get an edge on your peers by giving you an air of confidence when puffing away. With a cigarette you were the one everyone wanted to be like in your circle of friends. It was believed that the opposite sex was supposedly more attracted to you, if you were fashionably smoking away. Smoking is believed by some to make the man more virile.

Even though you might wonder why everything that is perceived as cool is linked with virility, let’s focus on this whole cigarette business and how it has practically brought mankind to its knees. A globally conducted survey statistically reveals facts about smoking and its harmful effects on the body. The study compared the impact of the damage causing deaths to smokers like the destruction of those who died in the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings in Japan.

Right now, scientists label smoking as the largest preventable cause of premature diseases and early death. Every minute, one in fifteen adults is dying of lung cancer. This is attributed to the addictive nature of smoking, resulting in an annual four million deaths (this is an approximate figure). Tobacco usage pertains to not only smoking, but also chewing betel leaves and inhaling deadly snuff. But still in spite of these facts it is worth noticing that approximately 15 billion cigarettes are sold daily. That is a HUGE figure! Who smokes that much and WHY?
