방정환(方定煥, 1899년 11월 9일 ~ 1931년 7월 23일)은 일제 강점기 시절 한국의 아동문화운동가이며, 사회운동가, 아동문학가이다. 호는 소파(小波)로 일본 유학시절 그에게 영향을 끼친 일본의 아동 문학가인 이와야 사자나미(岩谷小波)의 이름과 같다. 이외에도 잔물, 몽견초, 몽견인, 삼산인, 북극성, 쌍S, 서삼득, 목성, 은파리, CWP, 길동무, 운정, 김파영, 파영, ㅈㅎ생라는 이름을 필명으로 사용하였는데, 이는 일본의 언론검열을 피하기 위한 것이었다

홍염은 문학 교과서에 자주 실리는 널리 알려진 작품입니다.

최서해(崔曙海,1901년-1932년)
한국의 소설가이다. 본명은 학송(鶴松)이며, 서해는 아호이다.

생애
1901년 함경북도 성진에서 소작인의 아들로 태어났으며, 아버지가 간도로 이주하면서 어머니와 살았다.
최서해는 한문 공부와 보통학교 공부가 학업의 전부였지만, 《청춘》, 《학지광》 등의 문학잡지를 읽으면서 스스로 문학 공부를 하였다.
1918년부터 1924년까지 간도와 회령군에서 육체노동을 한 경험 덕에 그가 작가가 되었을 때 가난과 지주들의 착취 때문에 고통받던 민중들의 삶을 담아내었다.
한때는 북간도 지방에서 방랑한 적도 있으나, 귀국하여 방인근이 경영하던 조선문단사에 들어가 작품 활동을 시작하였다.
1924년 《조선문단》에 《고국》을, 이듬해에는 《탈출기》를 발표하여 문단의 총아가 되었다.
그 후 《기아》, 《살륙》, 《홍염》, 《큰물 진 뒤》 등 자신의 체험을 바탕으로 극빈자의 고투와 자연 발생적인 반항을 주제로 한 많은 작품을 썼다.
당시는 신경향파 문학이 유행한 때여서, 그의 빈궁 문학은 시류를 타고 카프 계의 문인들에게 갈채를 받았다.
1925년 '프로 예맹'에 가입했고, 《중외일보》기자 《매일신보》학예부장을 역임하였다.
만년에는 타락과 무궤도한 사생활로 문단에서도 백안시되어 불우하였으며, 위장병 수술을 받다가 세상을 떠났다.
