Omdat alleen een papieren versie in de huidige samenleving niet volstaat is het door Ronald van den Hoff geschreven Society 3.0 (vanzelfsprekend) ook te lezen op de Android. We willen met deze applicatie veel verder gaan dan het vertalen van het papier naar het scherm. We streven naar een andere presentatie omkleed door de sociale context - denk bijvoorbeeld aan weblogs en events - van Society 3.0.

Anders dan een eBook kun je met deze applicatie het boek in zogenoemde 'stories' lezen. Korte momenten van inspiratie die je chronologisch, op basis van tags of willekeurig tot je kunt nemen. Een unieke toevoeging die tot een compleet andere beleving van het boek leidt. Natuurlijk kun je wanneer je dit wilt het boek ook rustig lezen met gebruik van iBooks. Naast het boek kun je alle weblogs en events van de Society 3.0 community ook bekijken. Ook het reageren op weblogs behoort tot de mogelijkheden.

Society 3.0 is een boek dat kijkend naar het verleden de oorzaak laat zien waarom onze wereld, onze systemen en onze economie aan het einde van haar Latijn zijn. The Venetians, Genoese, Pisans in older days; the English, French, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, and American Governments in modern times, purchased security by the payment of a[Pg 4] regular tribute, or by the periodical presentation of costly gifts. The penalty of resistance was too well known to need exemplification; thousands of Christian slaves in the bagnios at Algiers bore witness to the consequences of an independent policy. So long as the nations of Europe continued to quarrel among themselves, instead of presenting a united line of battle to the enemy, such humiliations had to be endured. (with illustrations)
