Hoops in the Sun - one of New York City's premiere summer streetball leagues since 2000 - comes to your mobile phone - giving streetball fans across New York City and the world updated information regarding the league - including photos, videos, scores, statistics, standings and much more. Located at Orchard Beach in the Bronx, and highly regarded as the “East Coast’s Venice Beach,” Hoops in the Sun today draws approximately 1,000 spectators every weekend from June to August. Some of the worlds' most prestigious companies from adidas, Nike, Mountain Dew, Sony Playstation, SLAM Magazine, New York Yankees Boost Mobile, Toyota Scion, among many others, have partnered up with the league. Hoops in the Sun is a member of probably the biggest streetball market in the world - catering to both youths and adults. In the summertime, you can find a tournament every 10 blocks or so throughout the city. NBA players such as Tim Thomas, Smush Parker, Ron Artest, Marcus Williams, Joakim Noah, Lamar Odom, Devin Harris, Kenny Satterfield and Andre Barrett are some of the big names that have made their way to the Bronx throughout the years.
