Want to know what... The child can't learn the letter if she doesn't know what letter she is tracing. A completely silent application does not help my daughter to know that she is tracing an A

The numbers and letters work just fine. I had a problem with the shapes. You can do the first shape, but not the second shape. Then it freezes.

As a teacher, I've checked out a few of these free apps. This one is the best so far. Visually simple, (best for children), this guides children to accurately trace capital letters, shapes, and numbers, encouraging children with visual rewards. If the path of the line strays too much, it will simply restart. With a few spots open for customization, one can easily form a letter for your child to practice consistent with what they are learning at home or school, even if the letter given is formed differently in the app.

Nice My 2.5 year old traced to letter j yesterday with no help. Set touch screen to max sensitivity for best results. Visually not too exciting, though.
