[2012-07-29] Chad: Awkward to use The system of arrows used to select the amount of goods and money is very difficult to use. I was also dismayed to find out that this "Retro" version did not include the moneylender cheat of the original. |
[2012-07-15] Dane: Meh. Wish there more options, but if you want the old game with no bells and whistles, here ya go. |
[2012-07-10] TA: Needs improvement Loved this game back in the day and was delighted to find this version. It is pretty well done and fun to play. Biggest issues have already been mentioned: Numbers interface, speed of fights (needs fight to death button), and overall ease of success. (You can tell the focus here is to show you more ads.) |
[2012-07-02] Sean: Needs improvement As others have stated, the numerical data entry function is small and difficult to use. |
[2012-05-25] Dawn: Very true to the original, great! |
[2012-05-15] Joseph: Great |
[2012-05-14] Terry: Great Game, terrible interface... Why arrows to enter amounts? The up arrow doesn't work... 10 presses to get to number 1 erghhh |
[2012-03-25] Kate: Game is fun UI needs work Fighting is sloooooow Number entry is both cumbersome and unresponsive. When trying to add to bank, warehouse, sale or purchase. It is difficult to change the number. The interface keeps seeing the action as OK. |
[2012-03-08] Damien: Palm version better This game is very close to the original game however the palm version was faster. This android version is very slow. Someone please copy the palm version. |
[2012-03-04] Paul: Fun, But tooooooo ezzzzzzzz This is really fun, however it is very easy. I find my self getting board. You will never fight more than 10 ships. My ship never went less than 99% |
[2012-02-19] Sluggo: Retro Fun! Fun game. Reminds me of wasted hours at my old apple ][. Only thing missing is the chat to over-repay Elder Brother WY and earn interest on what he owes you. Clunky input, but whatever. Seems easier than the original, but maybe I'm smarter... |
[2011-12-27] rjhii: Faithful UI does suck, but looks identical to original |
[2011-12-21] Simon: Great game but bad UI Nice game and great fun to play. UI for input is clunky. Detection of button presses is s-l-o-w and the up arrow press detection is bad. It often recognises it as 'OK' not up. Entering large numbers is painful. Phone is a Galaxy S2. |
[2011-12-19] Grant: Good but... Overall this is a very good translation. But the numeric entry system makes this nearly unusable on my SII. I can't imagine how this can work on smaller screens. Make the data entry easier, perhaps using a standard keypad, and this would be great. |
[2011-12-19] Jeremy: Almost the original Excellent! Only bummer is they eliminated the Elder Brother cheat thats in the original & iphone version |
[2011-12-16] Talya: LOVE this game! There's something about sailing from port to port and sneaking opium past the authorities that makes me chuckle. |
[2011-12-07] KTA: Been looking forever! I'm so happy to find this! Never played it on the IIe but played on iPhone and desperately wanted to find a port. I loved losing many hours clickin |
[2011-12-04] John: Much as I remember it! I lost many hours playing this in the Apple IIc days. This captures the original quite well--almost perfectly. Would be 5 stars if it wasn't for the phone-sized interface on my Zoom tablet and the lack off an option to buy/sell all--the interface is a bit clunky when selling large numbers or visiting the bank w a large deposit |
