FINAL FANTASY
Initially released in Japan in 1987, the original FINAL FANTASY amazed audiences with its rich story and stunning graphics.
Players guide the Warriors of Light as they set out on a quest to restore the crystals to their former luster. Its side view battles, choice and promotion of character classes, and sprawling world explored with fantastic vehicles quickly became standards of the series. This game set the stage for all FINAL FANTASY games to come.
[2013-01-15] A Google User: Hangs every time after I beat final boss Overall, a great game, but for some reason, after I beat the final boss, my screen goes white and the game hangs. I cannot complete the game. Please fix this! I'm on stock RAZR MAXX running ICS. I'd try it on my Nexus 7, but I can't transr my save files (Nexus 7 isn't rooted). |
[2013-01-13] A Google User: Worth $7 This game runs very smoothly on my android the only problems I encounter is the menu text is a little too small and a bit confusing. since I wasn't a ff fan to begin with I thought what the hell I'll buy this and I was converted to a ff fan I'm totally gonna buy ff 3 |
[2013-01-13] A Google User: Unacceptable! FF1 is classic, no doubt about it. But Square has done such a lazy job of porting this. The graphics are supposed to be old, but the resolution is just pain poor. Also, the game only uses maybe 60% of the screen on my Galaxy Note II. Black bars not only on the left and right, but also on the top and bottom! Game is essentially a small square in the center of my screen. That combined with the ridiculously low resolution and you have a laughably poor looking port. Fix resolution & display to 16:9 for 5 star! |
[2013-01-12] A Google User: Needs alot of work update I bought this in good faith of square enix. After buying ffIII from you I was sure you could easily port a 2d game after you did such a great job with 3, but it seems I was wrong, it foes WAY too fast. Update, it still runs way to fast but the frame rate seems to stay steady so a lil better..but stuff is still way our of sync...please fix thx |
[2013-01-11] A Google User: Error it will not me play |
[2013-01-09] A Google User: Fun but annoying A beautiful rendition of a classic game, and I could deal with the fact that it doesn't fill my screen, but the constant lag is extremely annoying. |
[2013-01-09] A Google User: Good remake of original Touch interface works well, too bad it doesn't use the full screen. Game crashes during final battle. Otherwise great trek down memory lane |
[2013-01-07] A Google User: Good game. Awesome. Please add secrete dungion. |
[2013-01-05] A Google User: Can't download It almost hurts to say this but this port is terrible, its this kind of lackluster approach to finishing detail that has made the recent ff games so sketchy. The black border makes the screen too tiny to see, even on my quite large Xperia S. Controls are glitchy at best. It's a shame because Final Fantasy III was a great port. |
[2013-01-05] A Google User: Screen Size The game is great, I had it on my iPod a couple years ago and it was fantastic. The game runs fine on my DNA but the actual size of the game misiniscule. It's too small to actually see anything, so it would be great if you programmed it to expand to the size of your phone screen. 1 star until fixed. |
[2013-01-05] A Google User: Needs work Make it full screen, fix all of the bugs.. and please make chrino teigger compatible with the Samsung galaxy s3. it also says there was an update Jan 4th and one has not been available to me. |
[2013-01-04] A Google User: Runs great Worked great on my droid x. Not so much on my s3. Magic won't cast in battles (game locks when the menu opens) deleted and reinstalled, now the same thing happens when I try and name my new characters. Very sloppy squeenix, please fix so I can restore the five star rating. |
[2013-01-03] A Google User: Great game Runs well on the mini pro. Only problem is restart after leaving the game e.g to reply to a message. Also in game settings could be more detailed. But other than that great game. |
[2013-01-02] A Google User: Could be great. This is a great game except for the fact that any notification completely closes the game. It's super lame. |
[2013-01-02] A Google User: Good The only things that get on my nerves are the lagginess and that if I need to put my phone to sleep for any reason, I have to reset the game, which erases progress made, also. But otherwise very fun. |
[2013-01-01] A Google User: I hate it No refund too? |
[2012-12-31] A Google User: Must have internet I know we live in an era where internet is boundless, but not yet limitless. The game needs to be able to be played without internet connection at times... |
[2012-12-31] A Google User: Excellent I Love This Game!!!!! |
[2012-12-30] A Google User: Poor quality port from iOS - Constant Crashes! The black border is annoying, but trying to adjust the tablet zoom options to "zoom-to-fit" crashed my game and it would never open again until I re-installed - which deleted the save file. Update: After my re-install it crashed again, and now it won't even start! |
[2012-12-30] A Google User: Sound seems to be off I noticed that there is a ocean wave sound loop that is constantly running, even in battle. It sounds like it is stuttering, but I haven't played any of the Final Fantasy games before 7. Other than that, the game seems to run smoothly. I am trying to encourage a Final Fantasy 7 port, hoping it would rival the glitched emulated versions. FF3 port is beautiful. |
[2012-12-30] A Google User: Won't start! I already started playing yesterday but now it won't turn on! I have a Droid Intuition, i turned off my USB debugging and my game still won't start! I just bought this yesterday and am very disappointed. I really wanted to play. |
[2012-12-30] A Google User: Crappy port to Android Sorry, but this is really a bad port. The play size is too small and leaves too much real estate available. It makes the chars and text extremely tiny and if you don't like to strain to see text, this isn't the game for you. Don't know much about the game because I am not interested in playing past the opening. No zoom makes it even worse. |
[2012-12-30] A Google User: Amazing game ported well Game runs great on my samsung galaxy 2 10.1. Not much of a black borde or any lag. Brilliant game for the money. |
[2012-12-29] A Google User: Nice Though the text color is a little hard to see with the contrast of Grey and Blue thankfully it doesn't happen in all the menus but still would be nice if colors of the text were even shade of white |
[2012-12-29] A Google User: Quick and dirty... The title says it all, Square Enix has brought nothing but shoddy ports to Android as of late... I honestly PREFER to play the games through emulator's, how sad is that? Huge black boarders, cant adjust control position or transparency... 5", 7“, 10“. I know its just greed that brings them here, otherwise I would beg Square Enix to stop ABUSING classics with crappy ports... |
[2012-12-29] A Google User: Waste of Money The game leaves too much unused space, making it difficult to play on tablets. Also if you try to multi-task the game resets. Please SE. Fix before bringing new games... |
[2012-12-28] A Google User: Broken Doesn't work on Motorola Razr HD - force closes the instant you launch it. |
[2012-12-28] A Google User: Won't open. Keep failing. Ugh I want to play the game already and I can't get a refund. |
[2012-12-27] A Google User: Bad port lazy, disappointing port |
[2012-12-27] A Google User: Gud game I luv it same one I played went I was 12... But that black borders is a big problem... Otherwise runs perfect on mi Atrix HD, jellybean 5 stars went borders gone..... |
[2012-12-27] A Google User: Plays perfectly on galaxy Perfect. Works great on boost mobile galaxy ii. Great graphics. a+. Thanks square. Keep them coming! |
[2012-12-26] A Google User: Great game, poor port :( Fix it so it actually fits the phone's screen and it will get a whole star for that! |
[2012-12-25] A Google User: Way too small on a nexus 10. Please full screen the app on tablets. |
[2012-12-24] A Google User: Beautiful Remake of a Classic It's a great remake of a classic. Higher res Graphics, Flashy magic, world map (long-press stats onscreen), hand-guitar-picked-sounding music, and an touch-menu in. I'm on Google Nexus 7. It dosen't seem laggy. I can play with no wi-fi. Playable area is about 75% screen (Bigger than PSP). Auto save/resume helps game resetting issue. Square still has the Midas Touch! But Thumbs WAY down for OL license check every 10 plays STILL. What with our classic when someday your license server is down??????? |
[2012-12-24] A Google User: Very fun game Brought me back to the late 80s with the music and game play |
[2012-12-24] A Google User: The nostalgia! It's in my eyes! Improvements over NES version: Beautiful 16-bit graphics; More coherent story including cut scenes; Save anywhere; Auto-target if your target dies; Full inventory system; Much easier to compare equipment; MP-based magic system; New items (ether, phoenix down, remedy, etc); "Run" button; "Defend" option in battle. Room for Improvement: Lacks bonus dungeons found in PSP/iOS versions; "Letterboxed" image does not fill the screen (black border all the way around); Included mild DRM (one-time connection check); $7 price is too high. |
[2012-12-24] A Google User: Sloppy port The game is fun, but this is a very sloppy port. Lots of lag and slowdown as well as black borders around the screen for no reason. The game doesn't handle multitasking very gracefully. Hitting the home button on my phone causes the game to restart at the title screen, etc. With some polish and bug fixes, this could be great. |
[2012-12-23] A Google User: Wonderful Rpg For those who have a Galaxy S / Blaze, there is no black border issue. Game fills up the entire screen. Very addicting game. |
[2012-12-22] A Google User: What the hell? This game makes no sense, how is it Final Fantasy 3 can be full screen yet this can not. Feels like a emulator instead of an official game. Square fix this now! |
[2012-12-22] A Google User: Unacceptable iOS port Text is tiny and fuzzy, making it difficult to read. Large black border around the game is unacceptable. |
[2012-12-22] A Google User: Black border on my Phone?!? Almost unplayable with black border all around shrinking size of game to point of which makes text unreadable, tablet, i would live with it... but on my Phone?!?! .. come on... make it full screen... would ask for refund but took over 15 mins to download the game so i can't. |
[2012-12-22] A Google User: Small screen display The game appears in the center of the screen on a Nexus 10 using roughly 1/6th of the screen..not playable on this tablet. |
[2012-12-21] A Google User: Oh gosh This is the best rendition of the classic rpg re:experience the timeless tale of light and dark |
[2012-12-20] A Google User: Something is missing!! Yeah, simply everything is the same but some of the game variation is missing. After beating the four bosses, i notice that there's no other minigame behind it. I rated this a 4/5. If it was the bonus minigame, i would of give a 5/5. So it was fun playing it. Hopefuly, the next update should be the latest minigames. |
[2012-12-20] A Google User: love it just wish... not working i have an ff fan sins day one (in canada) i like to see more ff needs update crashs on tf101 4.01os |
[2012-12-16] A Google User: Great game but it freezes at the end. Tons of fun!!! This game was well worth the money. The game runs super smooth on my phone (galaxy s3) and the graphics are more than acceptable for a cell phone game. My only issue is that the game freezes after I beat the final boss. It goes to a white screen every time the boss drops off the battle area. I would give the game five stars if this issue was fixed. Great game square. |
[2012-12-11] A Google User: Great app except on Nexus Doesn't work well with Nexus 10... Small to view |
[2012-12-11] A Google User: Classic Only 4, MAYBE 5, is better. DS look to grphx. Granted not Dragon Quest 4, best of all RPGs. |
[2012-12-11] A Google User: Keep getting error Bought game now won't install error code 941 *refund* |
[2012-12-11] A Google User: just got the game I can't seem to get pass the character classes to an,e the characters, it won't give me that option to name them. Instead, I pick a class and press done but north has changed and I do not get a prompt to name the characters. Please help. |
[2012-12-10] A Google User: It wont let me play |
[2012-12-10] A Google User: License check and memory Only a douchebag company would implement a license check. I also don't like that the entire game is stored on my internal memory instead of my sd card like FF3. It eats up 45 mb instead of FF3's 3 mb. Considering that FF3 is a 150 mb game this can obviously be fixed. Fix these two major issues and I'll redownload the game. The screen should be fixed too but that's not a deal breaker for me. |
[2012-12-09] A Google User: Keep the updates coming. Runs great but it's unplayable on my Nexus 10, the game doesn't even fill a quarter of the screen. Same thing on my phone, it fills most of the screen but not all. |
[2012-12-03] A Google User: Great game, need issues addressed though... I would love to give this game 5 stars however there needs to be a fix for the screen size issue... Please please address this issue. I cant play the game that I PAID for because the game is so small, even on a 5 inch DNA screen. Black borders are preventing me from rating 5 stars. |
[2012-12-03] A Google User: Nexus 7 - 4.2.1 Great game, bit battery draining This is my favorite game of all time. Fond memories of playing on my NES as a kid, and emulators growing up. The overhaul to the graphics and play are a nice addition (some name changes, but mostly graphics overhaul). I had it randomly crash once, was closer to beginning of game. Since then smooth sailing, if rooted I suggest you use CPU control app and limit max CPU to bout 500MHz, otherwise it kills battery quickly. 4 stars due to single crash otherwise 5 stars. |
[2012-12-02] A Google User: Final Fantasy I loved the ff series , have been and still been loving the ff franchise. |
[2012-12-01] A Google User: Make it work or i wanna refund Mine wont play how do i get a refund |
[2012-12-01] A Google User: Amazing This game is amazing, the nostalgia, feels like I'm playing my old NES. And the controls are very easy to use too, although FF3controls are more user friendly. Still worth the buy, 5 stars hands down. |
[2012-11-30] A Google User: Galaxy S3 I already knew the problems with the pointless authentication and borders before buying this but I thought se would update it soon because of the reviews... That was a while ago and no update yet. |
[2012-11-27] A Google User: Xperia Play Support There needs to be an update that allows the use of the Xperia Play controls. Other than that the game is just as good as it is on the psp. |
[2012-11-25] A Google User: Get The Resolution Right And otherwise good game, on an Android device, the game leaves a huge swath of the screen unused. This seems like a rookie mistake since most Android apps have automatically scaled to the resolution of whatever device it's on. I'm giving it 2 stars. I'd give it 5 since aside from not scaling the size, it looks great and plays great. |
[2012-11-25] A Google User: Bad Android App It's not multi-tasking like other apps. I mean when I'm playing FF and I decided to quickly check my email or messages, the game resets.. What if I was fighting a boss for hours and that happened? |
[2012-11-25] A Google User: Solid, but not perfect. A very good port that has worked well on my Nexus S. Occasional drops in framerate happen, but they're not affecting gameplay negatively. I do wonder why the bonus dungeons were excluded though? I haven't had a chance to test them before, was disappointed to see them left out. Great overall, otherwise! |
[2012-11-25] A Google User: Poor battery life The game is very good but the battery drain took my phone from a full charge to empty in 30 minutes. Even with the phone plugged the charger can't get a positive charge rating while playing the game. There is also no way to turn off the sound. At the very least the battery drain and excessive CPU draw need to be addressed. |
[2012-11-24] A Google User: A must for tablets/not for LG phone As a life-long final fantasy fan I am highlypl impressed. A lot of great improvements without taking away from the original in any way. Even worked out previous flaws excellently and changed up/added a few monsters. Once again never disappointed from square, truly a great gaming company. However when installsd on my phone it works but is to big for screen and can't even name character let alone play. Please fix |
[2012-11-24] A Google User: Amazing classic Everything is great about this game but they forgot new game + |
[2012-11-23] A Google User: White screen of death Screen goes white during the last battle with Chaos. Then game freezes. |
[2012-11-23] A Google User: Not bad Some umpteen remakes and still no world map, so very needed, way to easy to get lost in this game, and seriously xperia play functionality (or button mapping) would be awesome for all of your games. |
[2012-11-22] A Google User: Well then... I haven't played this game in years, and still it feels just as crisp and clean in is controls as ever. I love the new combat systems look, and there is ZERO lag. Yes there is a problem with having to reload after a call or something else, however, being an old school gamer, there's one thing I've learned and still practice to this day....SAVE OFTEN! Great job Square Enix, now let's get a port of FFVII, FFVIII, and FFIX. |
[2012-11-21] A Google User: Motorola Triumph This is a very clean port. Controls work great. Square enix did a great job. Well worth the purchase. |
[2012-11-20] A Google User: So glad This game takes me back to 7th grade when I bought this game and played it all the way through at least 20 times |
[2012-11-19] A Google User: Uncomfortable Controls The screen is not expanded so the controls are are deeper into my nexus 7 which makes its really uncomfortable to play this game as I had to stretch my thumbs deeper into the device. |
[2012-11-19] A Google User: Good game Brings back memories of my youth :-D. I loved playing FF on my old NES now its on my phone :-P |
[2012-11-19] A Google User: Love it. I haven't played this since I was a kid, picked up on a whim, played it and it brought back fond memories. Was hoping to purchase FFII but SE hasn't ported it yet to Android. |
[2012-11-18] A Google User: Awsome Finally a phone game i can really enjoy |
[2012-11-17] A Google User: Great I've been a Final Fantasy Fanatic for fifteen years. But we all know we want to see Final Fantasy Tactics for the andriod market. |
[2012-11-16] A Google User: Trial & Error Its a good game none the less. So if you like it then buy it & if you dont like it then dont get it. |
[2012-11-16] A Google User: Great game I love this game, it takes me back to when I first got it for Christmas as a kid. But whatever happened to the polish that SE games used to have? I get quite a bit of lag. Auto battle would be nice as well. |
[2012-11-15] A Google User: Great Game runs great on my Galaxy S III, I can get over the scaling as it's negligent imo. For those who weren't able to change their starting party's character classes, click on their class when you first start a new game as you would their names to rename them, it allowed me to change up my starting class. |
[2012-11-11] A Google User: Runs fast, too fast! Im using google's flagship tablet, the Nexus 7. Keeping in mind it has a quad core processor with the tegra 3 chip. Needless to say, my hardware is overkill for this game. However, the framerate is almost annoyingly fast. The graphics are pure beauty on the tegra, but there needs to be some speed settings considering the many different android devices. |
[2012-11-09] A Google User: Missing It's missing fullscreen on my device other than that it's brilliant. |
[2012-11-09] A Google User: Ahh Pretty easy not as hard as original, extras after u beat fiends it pretty much over |
[2012-11-07] A Google User: Fix force close Great game/graphics but the force close every 10-20 minutes really takes the fun out of an RPG. They're repetitive enough without having to keep doing the same stuff over and over b/c it closes automatically. That's a pretty expensive game for a issue like this. I could look past it if it only cost $0.99 |
[2012-11-06] A Google User: Can't play Can't play due to verification system unable to check at start due to low (not no) connectivity. I've played before, why does it need to verify each time? Perfect example of why a paying customer will need to pirate a game already purchased due to draconian DRM measures. Won't be buying anymore until I'm respected as a customer. |
[2012-11-06] A Google User: Awesome |
[2012-11-06] A Google User: GalaxyTab2 7.0 It's ok.. nice play, nice price, have fun ^^ |
[2012-11-06] A Google User: So slow on my tablet, Too big on my phone Why is this game running so slowly on my new tablet, yet running fine on my phone? i would play it on my phone, except it's screen is too small, i can't even start a game (can't see, never mind touch, the confirm button when naming characters) please make the screen size adjustable, and fix the lagg please, i'm using a JoyTAB! GEM7012 and my phone is a Samsung GT-S5360 |
[2012-11-03] A Google User: Excellent It has great gameplay, like the original. The movement bugs out sometimes (not too bad.) Also, it Doesn't need internet connection, only the first time you ever play the game. |
[2012-11-01] A Google User: Expensive expensive for a game that everyone has already played. I was going to download ff3 to but not for that much money. If it was cheaper I would buy it. And you can't you play this game without internet connection? That's why you have games on phones! |
[2012-11-01] A Google User: To many problems. Lazy. Ios port. No time was spent on this game at all. Used to be a great game. Stop being lazy and fix the problems that you should have done in the beginning. Sad. Just sad. |
[2012-10-30] A Google User: Problem The game freezes when attempting to enter the marsh cave. It was really good i wanna continue the game :-[ |
[2012-10-30] A Google User: Wont install. Getting memory error. I meet all requirements. square won't respond to their support email. Out 8$ and will never buy from square again. |
[2012-10-28] A Google User: Dang Pay money buy this game but can not play it , and pop up that "error authorizing" how to play game? Please tell me that. |
[2012-10-27] A Google User: Sweet. I play this game before I got to bed while it charges. Pretty Sweet! |
[2012-10-27] A Google User: A poor version Game murders the battery and the bonus dungeons are missing, sad as it is great to see FF I on Android at last. Game also reloads from scratch if you get a phone call |
[2012-10-25] A Google User: Good port overall Some lag, but not terrible. The black border other reviewers noted is not noticeable after a few moments of play. |
[2012-10-25] A Google User: So that's how big the iPhone screen is. My Note puts it to shame, hah. But seriously, I love having this game ported to Android finally, now all I gotta do is wait for an update so it fits the screen properly. |
[2012-10-22] A Google User: Switched phones.. Can't even play this game anymore on my new phone. Paid for this? Sad day, the last of my respect for Square has gone. |
[2012-10-20] A Google User: You've GOT to be kidding me! So I pull into a foreign country and decide to download this game for the long 2 month journey back home with no internet. Everything is working fine, and I'm playing to my heart's content. But low and behold, goddamn license check pops in and tells me I can no longer play the game that I PAID for! WTF is that?! I made the concious decision not to download and install the illegal copy and this is how I'm rewarded. Now I've got a month left until I get back home, and I can't play the game (again, that I PAID for) till then. This is B.S. Squaresoft. Let me give you a free lesson. People will pirate this game...forever. Nothing you do can stop it. Live with it. Don't encourage it by screwing over your paying customers just because there's no friggin Wi-Fi around for the game to check into with the mother-ship. Now I'm half tempted to go and get the cracked version game that doesn't pull this crap when I'm halfway through the game. It's simple, easy to install, and doesn't f--- with you. Don't drive your customers away idiots. Good game but your licensing crap ruins everything. Save yourselves the heartache and get the cracked version. |
[2012-10-20] A Google User: Bad Ok game..but y nids internet connection? 5 stars wirthout connection |
