A traditional board game from Madagascar (which was recently featured in Assassin's Creed III (*)). Unusual features include the ability to capture a line of opponents either by approaching them or by withdrawing from them. Supports two-player play. Includes a leaderboard.
(Common misspellings: Fanarona, Fanorana.)
This is the free version; as of 13 May 2011, I've taken out the ads. The paid version is still available if you want to contribute.
Privacy policy:
Fanorona collects statistics on your wins for the leaderboard. However, these statistics are not associated with your real identity; a random identifier is generated for each user. Of course, they are associated with the name you choose in settings; but you are free to use a pseudonym there, or give no name and default to anonymous. In addition, the leaderboard logs your IP address when you win a game. I have been unable to get Google App Engine to stop this logging, but I have set it to discard the log after one day, and I promise not to use the IP address for any purpose, or to disclose it to any third party.

[2012-11-21] A Google User: Good, but lacks features. The game is fun, but it lacks difficulty settings and the option to let the computer go second. Redo feature is a bit uncomfortable. Simple buttons would be better. |

[2012-11-12] A Google User: Too easy. first place A few things. Josh if you you hit menu you'd see start new game. It is too simple. Computer needs to be smarter. You need to have a choice to go second just for some variety. Plus you know too easy and final note, first place! Because its too easy. |

[2012-11-09] A Google User: Great Just beat the computer for the first time! Would be great to have two player and if player had ability to make defensive moves if desired rather than have to always take opponents pieces when possible. |
