[2013-05-30] A Google User: This and the paid version are in serious need of an update I first purchased this app in 2010 and became an instant fan. I loved this app and my opinion was that there was no other that could beat it. In fact, I was such a fan that when I discovered that I had to buy it a second time, because I had lost my key, I didn't even hesitate. Total paid $9.98. Now, because screen resolution has improved with smartphones, I'm stuck with an app who's game board is so small a person needs a microscope to see. It's impossible to play. It's a real shame too. |

[2013-03-28] A Google User: The Computer DOES cheat... still I've had this app for almost 2 years now and it most certainly cheats. I have yet to see the AI not get double 6s while clearing, where as I get 1s and 2s - not occasionally but consistently. You have to be way ahead to win and the AI doesn't get harder with increased difficulty it just gets better rolls... Still, it's the best backgammon game I've come across, most the other games have such crappy interfaces they are almost unplayable... |

They may claim dice are random, but try playing gammonbot. It rolls those 1 in 36 shots every game and perfect dice with multiple doubles bearing off. It got so ridiculously predictable it became genuinely funny. |

[2012-11-05] A Google User: useless I only used it to play online. It wouldn't do anything if there was a message on screen so when two folks started talking about the game - I simply couldn't play! Sometimes the dice would roll other times I was left hitting the screen again and again in frustration. Sometimes the pieces would move other times nothing happened. Then every now and then it would become super sensitive and move the wrong pieces but not allow me to move them back! I gave it one star because it was free. I played one game with it and then wiped it from my device. Never again. It was an unbelievably frustrating experience. |

Instant dice rolls, clear graphics and touch and drag piece movement. I have a win rate of 75% on the Hard setting, which is about right. Don't want to lose all the time, but will upgrade eventually. Those who winge about the dice do not understand backgammon. When you are being thrashed it seems like the dice are fixed, but they are not. If the designer was going to fix it he would make it lose |
