[2012-04-04] simon: Links for social meda sites in a toddler app?!?! I'm always on the lookout for new apps to keep my kids happy. I purchased this app for my 2 year old. It's great - although simple, he loves it. It's nice that he can use it without any adult help for the buttons etc. But the single biggest failure of this app is that when you quit it displays a full screen page with huge buttons for Facebook 'like', Twitter, etc etc. I find this totally unacceptable for a paid app as it's an obvious ploy by the developer to get some 'free' publicity by using kids to spam their parents social media sites. I contacted the author, and he promised to update the app without the links. Unfortunately several weeks have passed by and no new version has been released. One other shortcoming is that there is no 'lock' on the app, so it's very easy for the toddler using it to quit and start fiddling around with other apps. Regrettably for placing ads in a paid app it gets one star from me and a recommendation to spend your money elsewhere. ~~~~~~~~~ Update: The author has removed the offending screen when you quit the game - thank you. |
