This is a client for the KGS go server. KGS is a popular go/baduk/wei-chi server. With this client you can play games against other KGS users, watch ongoing games, and record games. (Recorded games are saved on KGS. They can be retrieved from the KGS web site.)

YOU MUST HAVE A (*free*) KGS ACCOUNT BEFORE USING THIS. Visit http://www.gokgs.com/ to get one. Sorry, at this time you cannot register an account with the Android client.

Good app but has some bugs I have a nexus 7, and I noticed a bug: the app crashes whenever I click back after observing a game. The interface is nice and ergonomical, but on tablets there isn't always a need for the confirm button, I wish I could place stones with a single touch (i noticed some kind of option for that but it doesn't seem to do anything)

Unusable App crashes whenever a game starts. This makes it completely unusable. Especially considering the price, this needs to be fixed, quickly. Tried on a Nexus 4 and a Nexus 10

Excellent app This is a very excellent Go app. Works great on all my devices and has a very intuitive interface. Great for game recording, watching or even playing games on KGS. Price may seem a lot but two months of KGS membership and continues updates make it worthwhile!

Over all okay a little costly tho I am using an Android precident and you are able to chat by swiping left on the screen. You are able to watch a game by hitting the button that looks like a page. A real problem is you are not able to access info of users or any futures kgs plus offers if you only have a droid. The application closes at random times normally from switching from chat to game. You can not set your own time setting the time settings in place are 10 main 20 byomi or 30 main and 30 byomi. You can not listen to lectures.

Rather expensive for a subset of features Can't create games with own settings, can't review after game, can't see your stats. Playing works ok, but its very limited for the most expensive app I ever bought.

Extremely limited There are several features missing from this app that are available in the free Java app for the PC. 1) There is no way to review a game just played. In fact, half the time it is not even possible to observe your opponent as he reviews. You can just hear the clicks as he tries out different things and read his comments as he talks about stuff you can't see. 2) It is not possible to see games recently played. I know of no way to accomplish this feat. It would really be nice to be able to revisit recently played games and at the very least step through them, but not possible. 3) It is not possible to see the stats of the user being played. 4) There is no way to request an Undo for those accidental passes caused by the Pass button being right next to the Confirm button. Meanwhile, passing a turn does not require confirmation, so accidentally brushing against it on the way to tapping Confirm for a move causes the turn to be passed. Very frustrating, especially when playing people who won't send you an Undo request so you can try again. 5) There is no way to get grid numbers and letters to appear, so it becomes difficult to impossible to talk about the game with your opponent.

Works great! Works great on my Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 7.7 and Samsung Galaxy S II! Would love to double click or long click for playing moves instead of the confirm button, also maybe better game creation, review control and profile viewing, possibly hide the in-game chat for bigger board view. All in all, a great app! :-)

Excellent Job It is so useful to be able to watch or play from anywhere. Absolutely worth every penny. If I could change my profile settings or make a custom game, I would give it 5/5.

Many bugs and problems Well the fact that this cost me $14 bucks led me to beleive in quality. Though I have been impressed with its overall connectivity, I am not impressed by the customer service. I bought this app leagally and yet I keep getting the "unable to verify you bought this on android market" error. Also I did not receive any KGS+ status after buying. Ive sent the email and still no word, no refund, no solution, nothing. So one star until problem is fixed.

Fine for watching games. UI for playing is OK too. Fine for watching games. UI for playing is OK too. But the inability to adjust handicap when joining a game makes it useless for me. As there's no way to create a custom game, you can only use AutoMatch or join an open game - and then you're stuck with the automatic handicap.

Extremely well implemented I wouldn't expect any less from wms -- this is a faithful rendition of the KGS experience. Being able to casually observe high-dan games on KGS while on the bus is an amazing thing. My only issue with it is that you can't use KGS' normal game posting feature -- you can only join a posted game or use quickmatch. Thus, if you want to play with a specific friend, you can't (unless I'm missing something?) Either way, worth the price of admission for sure.

This actually costs money?! The free client (CGoban) that I use on my windows machine is near perfect. This 15 dollar thing is utter crap. I'm so disappointed. (1) Input is clunky (why tap two places to place one stone?) (2) Input is slow (losing on time seems to be a problem.) (3) And why can't I use it to just record games *on my tablet*? Why do I have to log in and save them on KGS? (4) Most recently, my Transformer Prime won't even log on. ==So why does this thing cost a time and a half more than Adobe Photoshop Touch?

Are you going to listen to us? The app doesn't repond to your moves, so you'll lose by time; usually cutting from server and even force closing. And they don't listen to our reviews even by email. With such a high price and low quality, you have to think twice before buying.

It was very hard to get the app to register where I wanted to place my stones, and the response to the confirm button seemed slow. I lost a 15-minute game on time, and I doubt if even 1/2 hour is enough time when you are using this app. (Hardware problem? -- I was using ASUS EEE Pad.)
