Tops The best free chess Android app and full of features. I emailed developer and asked if he would put options to get shortcut icon for starting and changing engines quicker and he implemented the features. Thanks. :) I wish other chess app developers would do the same. Also accepts opening books in .ctg format. I think the biggest improvement can be made with better graphics and I would like to see a blunder check feature.

NO AUTO-PLAY OPTION TO VIEW GAMES IN PGN FORMAT Droidfish is undoubtedly one of the 5 star deserving android apks on Google Play. Yet as a chess apk, I would give it a 4 star, unless it is enriched with auto play option for pgn files as available in SCID apk. I REQUEST THE DROIDFISH-MAKER TO ADD AN "AUTOPLAY" OPTION IN THE NEXT & SOONEST POSSIBLE UPDATE & my 5 starred review is waiting for this here.

Best Droid chess so far I removed one star now since the apps is still lack of the feature to kibiz a game between a human and an engine using a different engine. It is a big pity this is still not implemented considering quad core phones are becoming popular. "Analyze this" has the big potential to catch up but it really depend on the author's plan for next steps.

Comparable to Houdini 1.5a (approximate Elo 3000) on my old dual-core laptop running on fritz 10 interface. To the developer, thank you and Please consider adding multiple engine support especially the Houdinis, and to display say the top 6 lines being considered instead of just one. Helps with analysis. Also, if it considers a line to 24 ply, then I make the very move, it seems to start analysis of the move afresh. Is there a way for it to store the analysis so that if one takes the recommended line, it can reach greater depth in shorter times. Thanks.

Bought all others, this one is the best and free! The fact is I can use the same UCI engine (and I use last Stockfish form upstream site) both for DroidFish and for Chess PGN Viewer. Also it is possible to cooperate these apps via clipboard - without any cloud's headaches... Very strong pair of apps. I'd say, GMs of Android apps :)

Great! but want to set some files on external-sd What a nice program !! I'm very pleased with this free customizable chess app. (Engines and some engine-thinking-setting, OpenBooks, EndGameTables, Functional-button, etc.) But I want to set some files on external SD. Is there anyone customize for us ? 1. Endgame Tablebases. Using absolute-path, I can set gtb on external SD (ex. /sdcard/external_sd/Chess/gtb ). No problem. 2. Opening Book Settings Using relateive path from /sdcard/DroidFish, can set also. (ex. ../external_sd/Chess/OpenBook/mybook.bin (start with dot dot) ) But, cannot select on "Select Opening Book", if select <Internal Book>, then reset all. 3. Engines Cannot set engine on external SD.
