Based on psychological's Stroop Task, color or word is one of many brain training games. You have to manage your attention, inhibit or stop one response in order to choose correct answer. Ex. if the word "green" is display in "blue" ink and the order is "choose word" then the correct answer is "green".

Good Basic, but good. needs to leave the screen viewable when you fail so you can confirm you messed up: especially kids are convinced they didn't goof.

Ignore half of these reviews Please ignore all the one star comments. This game is based on one of the most well known assessment tools for cognitive control called the stroop test. Apps like these are useful for children to develop these skills. Its not a game for adults. If you have these skills of course it will be boring. It appears however that some people don't get you have to inhibit the tendency to choose printed name and change your response based on the rules. Just sort out the sound. Good Stroop exercise Game is good, does not have mistakes. You just need to know the rules. Don't like the volume? Then turn the volume down on your device. Please add ability to stay with just 'word' or just 'color' then you get 5 stars.

No mute, but challenging fun Game is hard, but fun! wish it wouldn't cover the screen when you get it wrong so that you could confirm it was wrong. also, and this is huge for me: there is no in-game volume settings & the phone volume control does nothing. Even just a sound-off button would be nice and give the game that 5th star.
