Great! What to say? It has everything you can expect from a phone chess program. Sometimes I only wish it were "funnier", that you could enable funny sounds (think Chess Pro 5) or something more enthusiastic when you win. Or more choice of boards and pieces. But, apart from those minutiae, it is a great game.

Fair... I paid for it but I'm not too happy with it. To set up a board for a study is three screens away. I'm still baffled as to how to open a pgn database. In the analysis level it gives a single line... Good opponent, definitely!

Shredder is better Shredder is much stronger and better. I recommend shredder than this if you looking for strong algorithm and tactics. I played shredder (2600 level) against pc deep fritz13 (level 13 depth) and shredder wins easily and draw with (level 14 depth). Also I played chessgenius level (think in 5 second) against deep fritz13 (level 10) and it lose easily. I will ask for refund.

Excellent Chess Program Have been using this app since June 2011 when I loaded it onto my new Sprint Droid XPRT. Possibly one of the first new apps I installed. Works very well and have had no bug problems. Wonderful to play with when stuck somewhere waiting for a bus or plane or whatever. I looked at -several- other chess programs first -- this one was clearly the best.

Very Good but could be better... The graphics are NOT HD like Shredder but unlike Shredder it does support landscape mode for tablet which is important to me! It would be perfect if it had HD graphics, supported pgn variations and annotations. All in all, one of my favorite chess apps but there is room for improvement. The Android version is very good indeed, continues that strong tradition, and seems to play in a very logical way which makes it useful for analyzing games. In terms of playing strength it is probably somewhere around International Master level. Excellent!
