Chaos - The Battle of Wizards (v. 1.16) Разработано Richard Quirk |
Chaos is a turn-based, tactical game. The aim of the game is to defeat all the other wizards by using magical spells and summoning creatures. Illusions are easy to cast, but can be just as easily disbelieved. A real Golden Dragon is a fearsome ally. Based on the 1985 ZX Spectrum game by Julian Gollop. Advert free.

[2013-08-21] A Google User: Enjoyable but not entirely accurate A very good version but I've noticed that unlike the original on the Spectrum that once you come in contact with an enemy you don't get given the option to attack all the time, specifically anything that flies. If you wish to move next to an enemy then attack it doesn't work. Also, I would love to get the original sounds for fighting and especially the original sound for when you kill a wizard as it was a distinctive and awesome sound to hear when you killed someone! |

I've not liked any other versions of chaos, but this is so well done I am absolutely amazed. Enormous respect and thanks to Quirky, as he clearly loved the original and wanted to do it justice. My nexus 10 is now finally worth every penny! Update: and now the magic now range has been resolved! Awesome stuff! |

[2013-01-14] A Google User: great game have to give it 5 stars. the diff between illusion and not is if u use dissbalive on illusion it kills the spell out right how ever to cast an illusion is easier to cast. if u dont want to cast an illusion u have to make sure u cast the right spell for the chaos level. [2013-01-14] A Google User: Awesome trip back in time! Cool game! Illusions will always cast (100%) but will be destroyed if someone casts disbelieve on it. Casting real creatures rolls the dice of chance - the darker the colour of the spell the harder it is to cast (see spell info) but if you do manage to cast a real Golden Dragon whooohooo!! One cool thing to know - The Undead cannot be attacked by the living [including wizards!] but the undead CAN attack the living. So Wraiths are really good as are anything you raise from the dead [using the 'raise dead' spell] - undead Golden Dragon ULTRA AWESOME!! Harpies are cool and much easier to cast, undead Harpy ACE! Some creatures you can ride - they take damage before you do. Some can fly - which gives you an advantage as they can attack from a distance and will only move after an attack if the defender is killed. If you end up next to an enemy your creature may become 'engaged' in battle, which means you can't move away until one of you is dead - careful what you walk past! Your target is always the other wizards - kill them and all their creatures die. Magic woods give you an extra spell if you jump in a tree (it vanishes eventually). Dark Woods can attack you if you are next to them. |

Touch controls are well integrated, bugs fixed and an interesting option to add a few extra features. Highly recommended! |

[2012-11-11] A Google User: Excellent work Very nice version of classic Chaos with a few new ideas (optionally) thrown in). The game itself is perfection. One of the best multiplayer games ever to have been created and this is a loving re-creation. The graphics have been slightly updated, mostly just to improve the monochrome (per tile) graphics, but thankfully, it all just looks as retro as before. The controls have certainly been optimized for touch but I would like to ask the author to add a new control mode using drag events to move around the cursor around and tapping the screen (within the arena) to select the currently selected tile. On small screens, accurately clicking a tile is quite difficult and a finger can be larger than several tiles so after selecting a tile, I always have to check that I selected the right one before doing anything. In addition, drawing big boxes for "Illusion", "Real" and "Back" would be nice on the spell selection screen (in the original font). Its kind of confusion what to click at the moment. If the interface can be improved in this way, then this will likely become the de-facto best version of pass-and-play classic chaos for mobile platforms. Hats off to you sir. |

Chaos was, and still is, in my favourite video game of all time. This is now the best thing I will ever do on my phone. |

I will keep playing the original for now on Marvin but look forward to coming back to this in future and giving it 5 stars. Chaos is one of the top-rated Spectrum games of all time, by those in-the-know, and with good reason. Illusions will work 100% of the time but can be disbelieved by other players; the Disbelieve spell is unlimited and can reach any square on the board. Good job so far. |

Raise dead on a mount and ride you can then only be hurt by undead/magic weapons and second if illusion is hit by gooey blob then you destroy the blob your illusion cannot be disbelieved. |

But this is much better i.e. it doesn't have the quirky controls that were required on the Spectrum version. My only very minor quibble is there doesn't seem to be any sound (on my phone anyway). Thank you so much for converting this to android and free as well. I would have paid for this even without the sound. Please somebody convert Laser squad or rebel star raiders. |
