Backgammon is a game of skill and strategy and one of the world's classic parlour games, played for recreation and as a gambling game. Like Mahjong, this is a game that is played in social groups in coffee houses and bars. Historically variants of this game are believed to have originated in Egypt over 3000 years ago, but was picked up by the Romans and then later to India. It also spread to east Asia, but was then largely replaced by Xiangqi (Chinese chess). It is now very popular in the west.

Proof the game cheats Have you ever played a real life game of backgammon and not rolled a single double? I have in a real life game. Hell, have you ever played a real life game and only rolled 1 double for the whole game? I have done that too. Have you seen the CPU since the HD update every not roll doubles in a single round? I have not. Have you ever seen the CPU only roll 1 set of doubles in a round since the HD update? It may not be cheating but it is messed up. Plus with all the doubles I still have not lost 1 single match.

Roll dice button position Please make the setting to change roll dice button to the right field! I play with stylus in my right hand so I need to move the hand very far every time. Another solution is to allow automatic dice rolling optionally. All other aspects are great. I love the quality and visual style of your games.

This BG is just too easy, no challenge. I find it hilarious that ppl say this app cheats on higher levels. I'm an average player, but this app makes me feel like a world class pro. I'm definitely no pro. There are five levels of play with #5 being the hardest. I expected #5 to kick my butt, but instead I'm kicking its butt instead. I also expected Al to make smarter moves. The hardest level is just way too easy and offers absolutely no challenge. Also, there's no contact info for dev. Can't report problems or give feedback.

Pretty good If this app "cheats" then I must cheat even more. I'm only a reasonably good backgammon player and I can beat the AI fairly consistently on level 5. In fact, the AI is pretty stupid when it comes to avoiding unnecessary gammons and backgammons. Still, on the whole, t's a good app.

Seems like it cheats, but really it doesn't! I only play at Level 5 (the hardest) and almost always lose if I'm not focused on my own checker play. I think players who always "remember" the useless doubles they get (and/or the favorable doubles the AI gets) would almost always have "forgotten" the useful doubles they themselves have rolled. I've never played tournaments before and I'm wondering if anyone's tournament play have improved after continually playing and beating AI players. Just wondering.

Great game Great AI. Competitive, but beatable on every level. Those who complain about the AI dice rolls, I fear, may be bad players. Concentrate on what you do with your own rolls and less on the computers.

Cheats on higher levels Rolls are ridiculously in favor of the CPU, like multiple four die with high numbers, while you get 1's and 2's. Very frustrating. Great game, if it was fair.

The Luckiest Player I Know On level 5 cheats like anything. Maybe random dice, but it certainly chooses the order. I call this program "my luckiest opponent". The programmer's blurb "the program is so good people people only thinks it cheats" is disingenuous at best, and when I've rolled the dice it plays weakly. Must video it and post to YouTube to warn people away. Better to get a real backgammon game from elsewhere. Uninstalling it. Just sucks the life out of playing backgammon. Horrible.

Another good one This game, like all of the AI Factory games, looks great and plays great. Notice what a small footprint it has. By the time you move it to the sd card it takes hardly any space at all.

Nothing has changed.... After not playing this game for ages until the ui was stripped of its rampant cheating, i thought I would give it another try. Somehow they have made it worse. In one game I rolled 1 double to the cpu's 14. Get it in a panic and watch it roll the doubles. Another thing it does is it has this magic ability to roll the exact number it needs time and time again. I'm just sorry I bothered spending money on this rubbish in the hope the paid version wasn't as bad as the free. Seems a fool and his money.....

Something's changed Okay... I'm getting hurt by AI's doubles. I checked stats as suggested. Over the last several games, AI got 29 doubles and I got 19. Also AI keeps getting double 5s. Something is wrong here. Is it the time of day? I'm guessing the clock is seeding the RNG?

Fun, but an uneven match Claims of no cheating go out the window when faced with brutal stats - I've played 117 games on level 3 and the app has roled itself exactly 10% more doubles (493 vs 448). (Entering real-world dice evens the odds, but it is annoying when playing by oneself.) The app may not be rolling the numbers it needs for a perfect games, but it's still cheating! No point trying to contact AI Factory by email for comment, as the website links are broken.

Dice roll at level five favor the computer Not fun to play against loaded dice. 500 games played. Stats don't make sense. Cheat. Hope you laugh yourselves all the way to the bank. I won't buy another game from you. I hope others don't too. Why cheat? Can't figure out how to win without stacking dice in your favor? On level 5, you win the dice roll 97% of the time. Come on!

Great game!! Cheater? Definitely not. I am a very good player and I do win more times than I lose, but the game is still challenging enough at the highest level to keep me playing and interested. Great graphics and game quality were worth paying for the ad-free version. I love this game!

The Game Does Cheat The dice are not random for the game. The program rolls perfect doubles. It rolled 10 doubles and 4 doubles when taking off . It always rolls the best number and lots of doubles to start game. The challenge is beating a cheater

Its backgammon If you backgammon youll like this. Wish the cpu was harder to beat. I win 90% of the time on the highest difficulty. Only lose when I take stupid chances. Make the hardest twice as hard and ill play and recommend a lot more often.

Not very smart I enjoy this app, but it's not much of a challenge. Don't think it cheats. I win >55% of the time on L5, & I'm not all that good. It gives away backgammons, takes doubles when it can't win, never resigns. I roll more dbls than CPU.But possibly it rigs the dice @ higher levels instead of playing better? Cheaper than a smarter coder I guess. Wish the UI weren't so flashy, stats were more instructive, & I could replay games, & use CPU's dice rolls on replay, to test myself.

Tiresome I used to really love playing backgammon. This has taken that away from me because of the way the AI cheats. There is no way you can win the higher levels because it's not the AI skill that improved, rather the dice rolls are constantly good. I've played around 20 games in a row on level 5 and each time the AI has given itself at least 3-4 doubles in a row each time. There is no way you can beat that however good a player you are!

I truly want to believe otherwise, but... ...this AI does seem to roll a lot of consecutive doubles just when it really needs them, and seemingly only when it really needs them. (I always play at Level 5.) Having played backgammon for years, and honestly taking people's money most of them, thank god I've never run into a human being with such "luck." I'd have shot him for pulling loaded dice from his sleeve sometimes when it was his turn to roll. (Luckily the AI is so weak, I can often still win by playing a back game. The AI seems clueless about seeing them coming and avoiding them.)

Handy but suspect at L5 This is a great little app and i have had many hours of practice with it. However at its highest level (L5) it has been made harder by winning the opening roll almost every time. On a 6 hour plane journey I won the rollout only 3 times! Still, good practice as the under dog.

Lyle AI constantly rolls doubles to get out of trouble and almost always gets doubles after offering to double. Actual gameplay is entertaining but after a while the cheating get's really old

Stress Relief It doesn't have to be multiple doubles you can always play yourself, that's what I do. I don't play the computer anymore, the doubles are ridiculous, now that I play against myself I see a fair amount of doubles, the most I've seen in a row is two and it can go to either player.

Run this app on both my droid and tablet. The only time the response time is a little slow is when my battery is running a bit low. Run Froyo on my droid and Jelly Bean on my Nexus. I really don't see any double patterns. I once played my brother and hit doubles every time except for two rolls.

4.1.1 Jb. Bug Both paid and free versions seem to have a bug in jelly bean. The backgroud just disapeared. I took some screenshots but apparently Im not alowed to upload here. Otherwise, great game.

Terrible The game was ok but predictable before the upgrade. Now its just ridiculous. I have played for six months and mastered the game enough to play the hardest level but since the upgrade it seems the ai does not like you being in a winning position. So much so that it rolled five doubles at the start of a game and gave me dice rolls that meant I would lose a piece

Best UI! Great UI, pretty and responsive. Nice if the AI was stronger, even Level 5 makes rookie mistakes like leaving pieces behind to be backgammoned. Still, entertaining, worth the price.

Very good game I have the paid version. I have played 390 matches, won 241. The app has only won 149. I have set the game to 3 rounds per match at level 5 difficulty. Also I have Crawford rule enabled. I have gotten 3628 doubles vs 3677 for app. Despite the reviews and simply put, this game does not cheat. If anything, based on pure statistics, the app is skewed in my favor. I am quite happy with the app, it is responsive to touches, interface is clean. AI Factory comes out with updates. I should mention there are two weaknesses in the game, It accepts my double in certain situations, when it should not, and it tends to delay moving the last piece off my home board. Nice app. I play it regularly.

I play this in level 5 all of the time and can regularly predict when it's going to cheat. Then the computer must feel guilty because it basically gives you the next game!

Now I do lose a rounds from time to time, but when the cpu rolls 7 doubles and has a rolled dice total of 250 and I have rolled a total of 100 and something, there is just no way to win every round. Just my observations.
