[2012-10-29] Rick: O.O I used to play this game for hours! Gahahaha WIN! |
[2012-10-24] Brian Siobhan: Outstanding Thank you |
[2012-10-22] Aaron: Runs perfectly smooth considering this game was originally designed to run on a 386 cpu. I've always loved this game and once Open Tyrian was created I'm glad to see it's easy to find the only ported version for Android. the PC and Wii versions work great too. |
[2012-10-17] Tsentr: Superb! Thou, controls can be improved |
[2012-10-17] Keith: Tyrian heavy user Love this game and the dev! Protips for those wishing to be true banana timetravlers: Play on normal Keep right on the first level and destroy the rock = bubbles secret level Buy the Vulcan cannon option on the left Go to asteroid two after that. Destroy the faces.find the secret level there. In that secret level there is a secret level. After that level you can get the prototon indigo cannon (right side) Best front weapon for ep 1 is pulse cannon. Best rear is sonic wave. Lighting cannon later on! |
[2012-10-15] Nickname unavailable: Love it....BUT....... It doesn't work properly because every time I save the game it saves at the same point no matter how far along in the game I am. Both manual and autosave does this. But it is an awesome game possibly 1 of the best. |
[2012-10-11] jason: Thanks! Is there anyway you can port Nomad the space trading game? |
[2012-10-09] Gilad: Best Game ever i played this when i was like 7 on the computer. best scrolling game ever! :D the port to android was done very smooth, the buttons are responsive and not too much "in the way" you can play with two hands or just let the ship follow your touch. incredible! |
[2012-10-08] Bourgeoise: Argh! The nostalgia ! |
[2012-10-04] Korwin: Sony Xperia Acro S LT6w (LT26w) Под HDMI работает только в альбомной ориентации - для вертикального скроллера однозначно менее предпочтительный вариант, чем книжная. |
[2012-09-28] Sale: Cool Tnx for game. You are king! |
[2012-09-24] Cyber Axe: almost perfect Add an option to the menu to switch rear weapon mode, a way to disable the onscreen controls and remove the cursor from the menus plus make the back button in fame bring up the main menu and pause and the android port would be perfect, the game was designed for mouse input originally o just touch screen controls work good |
[2012-09-18] John: So Much better controls now. only 4 stars because on screen controls get in the way of regular touch screen control and sensitivity controls really needed |
[2012-09-14] George: Fun But unplayable, sadly :) |
[2012-09-14] Mihail: Great port of a great game It used to slow down my desktop Pentium I... |
[2012-09-09] Hugo: Congratulations This game is amazing!!! I would pay for this app! |
[2012-09-05] Slaven: <3 An epic game! Thx! I love this game and played it with my friend in that old days of dos... |
[2012-08-30] Dan: Fantastic port of a classic DOS game Well. Incredible to say the least! This is better than much pay software. Hey why not port some more classic epic games? Five stars! |
[2012-08-29] Kiz: Excellent port Massive props to the dev. Works really well |
[2012-08-26] Giorgio: :') The best game ever now fits in my pocket. Enough said! |
[2012-08-25] IceDragon: Totally awesome! Really nice to see an awesome old game being ported to Android and running so smoothly on top of it. A bit of an issue with my phone going to sleep there, but at least the game recovers out of it properly. It's also great to see the game being truly free without the ads and limitations contaminating it. Good job |
[2012-08-25] Dolphin: Great! Yay for Tyrian! Original soundtrack, too. |
[2012-08-20] Andrew: Fun game, unwieldy controls. This is a good port of Tyrian for Windows. Unfortunately, the controls are less than optimal for touch screen, which limited my enjoyment of the game. I feel it would be much better on a slider with a tactile keyboard. |
[2012-08-16] Jamie: Fantastic As good as the original |
[2012-08-16] hasatan: Tyrian. When holding fire and moving, it doesn't stop when I let off the directional buttons. IOW my ship doesn't stop when it should. Captivate. Tyrian = childhood. |
[2012-08-12] Handy: Love this I played a while ago. It's very great space shooting game on it's time. |
[2012-08-11] Peter: Awsome Best PC game now out on Droid |
[2012-08-09] AETAaAS: Great port Loved this game all the while ago. This port has well thought out controls and plays very smoothly. |
[2012-08-08] Rich: Well Done. Glad I revisited this, love the improvements. |
[2012-08-03] Noah: Incredible This game never gets old, best shump I have played since I was 4. Perfect on xperia play for obvious reasons. For everyone else: be sure to turn off the accelerometer, and it can be played well enough with touch controls |
[2012-08-02] Stormpityu: My favorite! |
[2012-07-31] willis936: Bad update FC since update. Will likely have to clear data and re download. |
[2012-07-31] Cosmin: Great port The controls take a bit of getting used to, but overall it works beautifully on my Galaxy S2 (ICS 4.0.3). |
[2012-07-23] DaVince: whoa. Fantastic port. Just like the original. |
[2012-07-14] Rik: Awesome!!! Outstanding port. Audio, graphics, same as PC! Runs perfectly on SE Xperia Play. |
[2012-07-10] Nicholas: Fantastic! Brilliant port to Android. Great game. Miss this little gem at your peril! |
[2012-07-06] Danial: Excellent! Looks, sounds and plays like the PC version. Makes good use of the Xperia PLAYs controller pad |
[2012-07-06] Martin: Great retro shooter Just wish you could save your progress |
[2012-07-04] mike: Thanks An all time favorite. Though the controls were a little hard to get used to. Any chance of making it Tyrian 2000? Difficulty level impossible can't be activated on HTC oneX. |
[2012-07-03] Emiel: Awesome Even the cheats work. (Try typing 'weird' in the main menu!) |
[2012-06-29] Nhan: Nostaligia to the extreme!! I love this game since it came out. Thank you for porting it to android |
[2012-06-20] Russell: Nexus s Works! Wow well done Mr developer, Tyrian now works on my phone *uses to crash before* and so far no problems, thank you so much! |
[2012-06-20] Brent: Just like the real thing! This brings back so many memories! too bad it's network support hasn't been ported though |
[2012-06-13] Gary: Oldies are the best After fiddling with the control options for an hour this works great. Game just as i remember it |
[2012-06-12] c: Bump version? Two releases recently and the change log is only "bump version"? |
[2012-06-12] Apollo: Latest update wiped saved games Last update wiped my saved games. Bummer! |
[2012-06-11] Logan: Perfect exertion For those of you who can't grasp the menu options: you can save from within the game options...and if the onscreen controls don't work for you use finger position only...whiny babies |
[2012-06-09] Joseph: awesome port Amazing |
[2012-06-08] James: It rocks my Transformer Prime My favourite old ms-dos game. Works great with an xbox 360 USB controller on my Asus Transformer Prime. |
[2012-06-05] gsmsosv: Very rough port Plays smoothly but controls and interface are very poor. The configuration menu is fragile and prone to random crashing. Accidentally touching the screen with more than two fingers always crashes the game, sometimes with only two fingers. On-screen keys can't have custom labels, only "1," "2," etc. On screen key positions aren't always saved properly, either. Disappointing, but what can you expect for free? |
[2012-05-29] andrea: Sad Force closes at beginning of game play. I can remember playing this game for hours... really wish I could again now. |
[2012-05-27] Paul: Pure awesomeness Still getting hang of the controls, fantastic stuff! |
[2012-04-27] Spiralbiaxident: Near perfect port; Incredible on the Xperia Play Me and my friends all purchased Xperia Play since we're avid gamers; the game performs like a dream on the hardware, and although initial set-up and key binding was somewhat of a pain, you only need to do it once and the game is otherwise perfect! Thanks for bringing this to Android! |
[2012-04-16] Kostas: fantastic like the good old days |
[2012-04-16] Xologist: Awesome! This is the best ship game ever invented. I remember playing this YEARS ago. Thank you so much. Runs nicely, i play with wii controller ;) (rwiimote) |
[2012-04-15] Antoinbrown: Ant Cool game |
[2012-04-14] Xero: Awesome Best game ever |
[2012-04-12] Cadillac: Awesome memories Would give 5 stars but the controls are difficult to master... or is it just me? Works flawless on my Motorola RAZR. |
[2012-04-07] brijest: Excellent I have a qwerty keyboard phone, really fun to play, I have to say |
[2012-03-18] B: Well done You are an awesome person for this. |
[2012-03-15] Alec Tatum: Fantastic, but needs a better icon. |
[2012-03-13] frankjaker: Not bad The concept is great, but pretty hard to control |
[2012-02-27] Aron: Awesome! My fav dos game! Works perfectly with xperia play if you figure out the config ;p |
[2012-02-02] Queso: Amazing Better compatibility with the sony xperia would be amazing. Otherwise, this game is still amazing even after so many years from when it was made. |
[2012-01-30] Verizon: Old fun I have been looking for this game for a while... And here it is in perfect form! Thanks so much |
[2012-01-29] Lurker: Pelya You are the man! |

[2012-01-12] analytik: love it works great on Transformer 101 in full details. |
[2011-12-29] Fehér: Great port. Unfortunately its very choppy on my 800mhz device :/ |
[2011-12-26] Michael: Great. Buttons not easy to use. Wish I could save progress. |
[2011-12-15] George: omg found my wiimote now it is awesome! awesome try the interface makes it near unplayable but it is still an awesome game and it is very cool that you have ported it over :) 5 stars with be |
[2011-12-07] Ivan: Tyrian <3 I like the port. It rulz |
[2011-11-30] liqourish: Bad port of originals Game is good, controls are whack. apple ios made a user friendly controls. Ur options r good but has issues playing with them in the menus |
[2011-10-23] Dib: Locks up on my Droid X Won't get past the Initializing screen. |

[2011-09-29] Maarten: This brings back memories. Works great |
[2011-09-12] Jaco: Great work! Thanks! I do think the setup is quite user-unfriendly... |
[2011-09-08] Kevan: Such an awesome classic! Works well on nexus S, but could use a better joystick; ie a full touch zone instead of discrete arrow keys. |
[2011-09-05] Matt: I don't know how to activate the ship accessory on keyboard, but still 5 *'s! Epic! |
[2011-08-27] Adam: Awesome One of my old favourite games.. Nostalgia!! Works fine on my GSII |
[2011-08-17] Sean: No sound - Droid |
[2011-08-13] Daniel: Although theres a bit of difficulty adjusting playstyle to a touchscreen device, I think its a good port of a great classic game. |
[2011-08-07] Randalfien: Great pc game, but it often freezes when starting on my desire hd. |
[2011-07-30] Manuel: I own the pc game and nothing has changed. Love it! |
[2011-07-24] Amanda: Used to play this all the time on our old Acer aspire. Works great on my Droid incredible 2! |
[2011-07-22] Crono141: New phone, new review. Perfect for xperia play. Only gripe, the screen isn't centered. |
[2011-07-19] Diego : Awsome shmup game. Runs flawlessly on my HTC EVO 3D. Great soundtrack. Shmup heaven :) |
[2011-07-16] Mise: Brilliant port of a brilliant game Brilliant port of a brilliant game. Didn't work on my old HTC Hero (installed and loaded but was unplayable on such an old phone), but on my new Motorola Atrix it runs beautifully! The accelerometer could use a little bit of work, and the buttons are a little too sensitive, but overall a very playable game - much more playable than most of the native Android vertical shooters. |
[2011-07-13] Jared: Cool! Can't wait to try it with a wiimote. Edit: Seriously awesome with a wiimote. This game rules! |
[2011-07-06] Delena: I use to spend hours playing this game growing up. Wish they would remake this game. |
[2011-06-25] crshbndct: I loved the original game and is an amazing port. The initial setup is a bit tricky to work out and the accel is fast in the menus. But its genius |
[2011-06-24] Big Sam: Doesn't work on my Android Comet. |
[2011-06-10] Zero: An awesome game. Well worth downloading |
[2011-05-28] Benjamin: An excellent port. I've found on standard controlls that if you hold the movement and fire buttons at the same time then the movement will continue until you release the fire button. Makes the game awkward when using keyboard. I would also suggest a touchscreen joystick instead of buttons with a input area well beyond the boundaries of the visible on screen keyboard. It would be a lot better suited to this type of game and minimise the amount of times you miss the buttons and end up dying. |
[2011-05-21] AshTR: Majorly disappointed, doesn't work on my G2X. Gets stuck at the SDL screen with "Initializing". |
[2011-05-12] Jason: An excellent translation from DOS to Android! A true classic and it's FREE! |
[2011-05-04] DustArma: Good port of a great game, graphics look weird on xperia x10 mini. |
[2011-04-30] Ezekiel: Very fun game that has been ported extremely well; now runs well even on my LG Ally! |
[2011-04-30] Abe: horrible runs slowly and not even fun |
