Knights of Pen&Paper is an indie turn-based retro style pixel-art RPG. Inspired by the great titles of the 90's, play this game feels like you are playing a traditional pen and paper RPG.

The player gets to control the playing characters AND the dungeon master, and you choose what battles to fight. Put together a bunch of monsters to make it a challenging fight and your rewards will be equally great!

With 12 different classes (6 unlockables) and 17 characters (5 unlockables) to choose from, more than 100 quests, 50 monsters, 100 items and equipment, blacksmith, enchanter, mining, gathering, hidden treasures and a lot more. Samsung galaxy S3 The game seem fun so far but there seems to have a problem with pixel scaling i.e: menu overlapping, had doesnt fit and the text do weird thing. I am a bit upset but the game did warn me at the beginning but I already paid 2 dollars and the game have no lite version to try so how could I known? update: Still have problem with the scaling( now it`s zoomed too much) and some of my heroes have double hat. They did fixed the paladin thought, which is nice. Will see if it get better with time.

Galaxy s3 screen still horizontally cut off. There are still minor graphical problems such as speech bubbles where the text is not inside. The left and right of the screen is still cut off. Other than a few quirks, great game.

Nice idea with a room for improvement Game is very nice and fun, Crashing fixed for me by patches. The only thing I hate now is the item creation that takes few hours of real time and you had to pay for speeding things up. I am willoing to buy good game but this kind of microtransactions in paid game are evil.

Seriously flawed If it weren't for the phone crashing bugs when trying to use any type of shop, this would be a fun game. It burns through batteries faster than any other app and has countless glitches. I like the game, but there's too much stopping me from playing

AWESOME GAME New games always have a place on my phone, but good ones get to stay. I doubt ill ever delete this one. Its a little buggy, but once it gets fixed (I've already emailed them, and they got back to me pretty fast) ill bump to 5 stars

Quirky fun with RPG tropes Loving the old-school graphics and gameplay, in spite of a few bugs here and there. A great sense of humor keeps me playing whenever I get a spare minute. Unlockable characters and classes add incentive to second runs as well. The only problems I've run into so far are rare several second hang ups that correct themselves, text spilling out of word bubbles, and slightly zoomed in screen.

The parts I can play are fun, unfortunately... After the first mission, the background won't stop blinking/strobing and just about every game option (besides combat) causes the game to freeze my phone and I have to remove the battery to fix it.

Buggy but fun Love this hit mess of a game. I've sunk many hours into it but I cannot overlook the buggy interface. My UI is constantly freezing and resetting. I am really picky and this game is impressive First this isnt a lame "freemium" game where you have to play real money to progress in the game. Freemium is a plague upon all gaming. Second, if you like basic turn-based RPG's, this game is pretty much perfect for the cell phone platform. I dont give high reviews easily but I give this one 5 stars.

Better screen, but still needing. I can already tell I'm going to enjoy this game. I love D&D and turn base RPG games. However the game cuts off the sides (and some buttons) on the screen on the Galaxy S 3. Will not ask for refund because it's still playable. Fix for 5 star.

No doubt a great game But theres too many bugs to really enjoy the game. The background is in strobe mode half the time and it freezes when you go to shop or other options. Please fix these major bugs and it'll become 5 stars in a second

Not for hardcore gamers This game is particularly grindy and getting new characters up to speed with your existing party is nearly impossible. The gold curve is steep, and itemization is poor. Huge gaps in ability utility, some classes only level up one ability because it's that OP. I have not found a 'detect' ability (see mob current hp). A few misleading tool tips too. Overall, okay as a casual RPG, not a whole lot here for hardcore RPG gamers and micro-optimizers.

Great game! However, I ran into a problem. During battle, after a monster has been destroyed, if you push the attack button while the creature is flashing the game freezes. Happens more than I would like. Please fix.

Very Unique This is a very unique take on roleplaying games on a mobile platform. Playing as the characters playing a pen and paper RPG works surprisingly well. The game is fun and addicting. The only downside would be the spelling/grammatical errors that exist.

Incredible, but.. Fantastic spin on D&D. I love the plot and art type, this game is designed to perfection. Pressing Shop causes phone to freeze and reboot phone. Same deal with Cauldron in Default Village. I'm bitterly lugubrious I've hit a wall in the game this early. HTC Desire S. Fix or refund please. Preferably fix :)

A breath of fresh air. Very very cool game. Love the idea, the visuals and the audio. All top class. It's a simple game mechanic in the classic style but oddly compelling. It's very nerdy but in a light-hearted and fun way. There's some depth too which is nice to see. Very impressed, if this is the future of Android gaming then bring it on.

Problems on HTC incredible 2 Accessing any shop completely crashes and restarts this phone model, very disappointing but the game seems so good in its design otherwise.

A few bugs, but still fun! I appreciate the sense of humor in the game, and that upgrades to your room will persist across all your saves. The latest update fixed the zoom issue, for the most part. But it also made it impossible for my S3 to exit the game normally using the back button. I have to hold the power button to restart my phone (On the plus side, I don't lose any progress, so it's a minor inconvenience.) I'll bump this review up to five stars once some more bug fixes are implemented.

Would have been nice to know Well, i can't see how I can play this anymore. I could get over the bugs,crashing in battle when you try to attack a enemy that was already killed with fire and so on, but after getting all the way to level 35 and just then finding out on accident that there was mining and gathering needed to upgrade the smith and store. Well I just lost all moderation to keep going after knowing I was missing a big key part to the game, that the game never felt like telling me about.

Fantastically addicting... But it some times crashes at the end of battles, thankfully the autosave feature makes sure you only lose that battle. Still a five star game. Great fun.

I would rank it 5 but I love the 16 bit pixellated graphics and the 8bit sound and game play.... I humor is a plus. GOOD old RPG in electronic format. However one of the updates some how decided to ZOOM-in into the screen... I which in all honesty as much as I love the pixellated graphics the ZOOM is WAAAAAY tooooo much for me. It is just simply unbearable atari like graphics. Just a little bit of zoom but way too much.

In a word.... EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!! This game is amazing. I love the way it simulates the good old days of sitting around the table with friends playing any of a number of popular fantasy pen and paper games back in the late 70s, and throughout the 80s. I was on vacation this past week, and spent almost all of Wednesday and Thursday playing the two campaigns. The first campaign is huge and extremely fun. Great story/plot, lots of side quests, locales, and of course monsters to slay and loot. The second campaign is a bit shorter, but I liked the concept of being forced (slavery) into being a gladiator in an arena. Another cool aspect is that you unlock new and more powerful classes during a campaign. You can replace your current heroes with new ones sporting these new classes, or wait until you start a new campaign as you basically begin with new heroes as you would in the old pen and paper days when you began playing a new RPG system, or a new world/campaign. In closing, the guys did a really great job, and promise more content. I've purchased plenty of apps for my Motorola Xoom over the years, and this is my favorite. It may end up yours too!

Its got problems This game can somewhat compete with kairosoft games on it's fun, time, and replay value. However, i cannot open the store without my phone freezing and me having to take its battery out. Is there someway to fix that? And every scene almost is strobe for me, may have been bad if I was prone to seizures. Edit: due to me being pwned multiple times and if shop worked it could help, i am rating 1 star...

Hard locking my Xperia Arc So far, all 3 attempts I've made to play this game have resulted in a hard lock which required me pulling my battery to reset the phone... I think the concept is quite unique and well executed, crashes aside. Please, investigate a fix for this. From one Dev to another, this issue never should have made it to market.

Still buggy Screen still got a smaller portion truncated on two sides. Game still provides no means for closing the app (Force-close via task-manager everytime after playing is utter annoying). These issues plus the hype of "controlling the DM" merely allows controlling the enemy group size in random battles, all added up into a let down of this solid game.

Almost perfect This game is amazing. I absolutely love it. I just have a few problems with it. The last patch fixed a lot of issues and is perfectly playable on my galaxy s3. Its still a bit too zoomed in and I feel like im missing out on quite a bit of the screen. My next biggest issue is that this game is a huge battery suck (I get over this problem by playing it plugged in). As promised I upped my rating to 4. Fix the issues above and Ill rate it 5 :) Thank you for updating the game!

Tons of Fun, Small (Non Game Breaking) Issues This game is a blast to play for RPG (turn-based) fans. It's a little dose of RPG questing and fighting on-demand and easy to put down and pick up when you have the time. Seems to be lots of unlockables in the main campaign so far (I'm at least 6 hours in) and there's two campaigns to date. Looking forward to seeing what else the devs do with their product. I see a lot of potential with this one if they run with it! I've kept it at four stars because the recent update made the game stretch funny.

Amazing game! But a couple minor issues. This game is the best game that i have ever played. My only issue is none of the the menus scroll right and the ability to buy in game money with real money "isnt available in my device". Fix those issues and 5 star! Update: You guys should try to integrate some sort of multiplayer. I dont know how it would work but try considering it.
