[2013-01-05] A Google User: Great, but spoiled by bugs Great game, faithful to the original and minor improvements - but it's full of bugs that cause you to have to start the game again from the beginning. E.g. you'll use an item, randomly fall through the floor, come back and the item's still gone but it's effect has been erased, so you can't continue. Ruins it. Also, if you turn the music off, it doesn't remember next time you play. |
[2013-01-04] A Google User: . Was really into it, then I got stuck at princess, can't use the game now, every time I go back on, just get stuck. Would be great if bugs were sorted. |
[2013-01-02] A Google User: buggy its a great little game taking me back to my younger zx spectrum days, but I encountered a game breaking bug which rendered the game unfinishable which needless to say is a little frustrating. otherwise I'd have given it 5 stars |
[2013-01-01] A Google User: Short 'n' Sweet Can't remember the old games being as short as this, finished it within half an hour. Only worth buying if you're after a bit of nostalgia. |
[2012-12-26] A Google User: Just love Dizzy! Keep on coming with the old remakes. Games were much better back then. Treasure island dizzy next then Slightly Magic!! Maybe some of the Seymour games too? Would be better if dizzy could die like in the original. Also fix the graphics pop up, no need for it these days. The art work is fantastic but the coding ruined it a bit. |
[2012-12-24] A Google User: Poor implementation of a classic Too many graphics glitches, 4 times I have almost completed it and got stuck in a glitch that I cannot get out of of......annoying. |
[2012-12-20] A Google User: Too short This game is too short. I completed it in a couple of hours. No worth the price. |
[2012-12-19] A Google User: dizzy / buggy! This game clearly didn't go through any proper testing! The platform collision detection is awfull! Such ashame for a graphically very pretty looking title! |
[2012-12-01] A Google User: Excellent Just like the old Spectrum Dizzy games but a bit shorter.....more Dizzy games please! |
[2012-11-24] A Google User: good game but... great game, i didnt have any glitch problems, but its way to short, i expect more for my money!! |
[2012-11-21] A Google User: Waste of time Paid 4 the game, kps crashing all the time and loads of lag. Shame could ov bn a gd game |
[2012-11-18] A Google User: Great old school classic Great game, rely can't fault it. Possibly one of Dizzys best adventures. The only thing I wish it did have was the NES versions music. Still thumbs up for the Egg with the boxing gloves. |
[2012-11-13] A Google User: Good Bring more out |
[2012-11-04] A Google User: If it weren't for the horrible glitches this would be a very enjoyable bit of nostalgia. Real shame. |
[2012-11-03] A Google User: Plz Plz make more dizzy games |
[2012-10-30] A Google User: Classic but has one issue The screen's too big so I can't use the controls |
[2012-10-26] A Google User: Fantastic I loved playing Dizzy games when I was a kid on the C64 and now, despite being almost 30 years of age, I was more than happy to spend the £1.49 asking price for this HD remake. It didn't disappoint either. The HD graphics are gorgeous and although I'd read that some people had experienced bugs whist playing the game I can't say that I experienced any whatsoever on my HTC One X. Treasure Island, Fantasy World and Magicland would make very welcome additions to this new format. Thumbs up! |
[2012-10-01] A Google User: AVOID! Broken game. No fix available. Codemasters reputation down the plug hole. Steer clear |
[2012-09-30] A Google User: Still full of bugs After all this time this game still hasn't been fixed. Dizzy keeps sinking into the ground in various places meaning you have to start the game from the beginning again. |
[2012-09-05] A Google User: Good game. Bad Glitches As the review title suggests. If kids played games like this the world might be a happier place. Good attempt but when it does glitch it is unforgiving. |
[2012-08-18] A Google User: Short but sweet Managed to complete the game in about an hour. Didn't run into any problems so I guess I was lucky. |
[2012-08-14] A Google User: Good until the bugs start Was really enjoying it. Then I somehow got stuck by the princess, I can't jump or move left or right. Fix the bugs please! |
[2012-08-11] A Google User: Dizzy returns (with a cracked shell), Being a huge fan of codemasters back in the 80's, (budget range and such) I have always anticipated their releases with baited breath! (Pocket money friendly) Dizzy is, in my opinion, the greatest release ever to come from the Darling brothers stable. When I seen Dizzy for mobile phones, I couldn't wait to download it. I have it now, and to say it's disappointing is an understatment! It's full of bugs, the character falls through the ground when you attempt to retrieve a saved game etc. Bring back Dizzy!!! |
[2012-08-10] A Google User: bummer !!! I'm giving this one star because it wouldn't give me a half star option. game was too short, too many extra items not used. I'm a dizzy fan and was very dissapointed. |
[2012-08-08] A Google User: Classic I love it. Bring out the whole series!!! This one is great now I want more |
[2012-08-07] A Google User: Egg-cellent! A brilliant trip down memory lane. |
[2012-07-28] A Google User: Good but unbelievably short. Nice little game but only an hour or so gameplay in there. |
[2012-07-26] A Google User: Fairly good A little short and a bit buggy. But generally great nostalgic fun. |
[2012-07-22] A Google User: Dizzy!!!! Downloaded this game on the day of release, couldnt play on xperia x10 :-( tried on my new phone evo 3d.... nope then spanked 200 quid on samsung tab2 7" and ...... success!!!!!!!!! Completed it at last. That means it took almost as long to complete it this time as it did to load the original on my spectrum lmao. |
[2012-07-17] A Google User: Shame Can't remember that stupid 3 dot black menu bar being on my Amiga screen when playing. Refunded. May try again in a few weeks or so. |
[2012-07-17] A Google User: Deserves more... ... but only 3 stars. Needs a lot more work. Come on Codemasters! |
[2012-07-13] A Google User: Not impressed Great game but im giving it 3 stars because of how short it is |
[2012-07-08] A Google User: Can't be completed Too many bugs, can't be completed after thorn is used and still fall through trapdoor. Please fix. Would be 5 stars if it gets fixed, great to see the egg back again. |
[2012-07-08] A Google User: Classic game Loved the original now at last had the chance to complete it!! Thank you any chance of the others?? |
[2012-07-06] A Google User: Nice Awesome comeback. please make more with longer adventures! |
[2012-06-28] A Google User: Okay Short, got stuck next to the princess and had to start from scratch. Annoying. No graphical glitches but sprite collision needs a lot of work. |
[2012-06-26] A Google User: Great but I love this game and playing well on my phone . But I wish if it's more long more episodes ... thanks any way.. |
[2012-06-22] A Google User: Classic Dizzy I was a bit hesitant about this given other reviews, but the lure if Dizzy was too much. Like other reviews state, this game has serious graphical glitches when scrolling. Annoying, but not a gamebreaker, although twice it led me to get stuck so I had to reload the game. On one other occasion poor collision detection led me to get killed and respawn in the same place. Apart from these, its a classic Dizzy game, based on the original POTYF, but not a remake. However at 30 mins its too easy and too short |
[2012-06-22] A Google User: Bugs? Downloaded but doesn't appear to be in HD. Very fixedly? |
[2012-06-14] A Google User: GOOD works fine for xperia play |
[2012-06-09] A Google User: Wonderful, reliving times gone by :-) Use to play on the Commodore 64, brings back great memories. Works superb on my Advent Vega with VegaCream :-) |
[2012-06-06] A Google User: Owww dizzy how ive missed you Amazing game! looks like the back of the tape screen shot, that my amstrad 464 wouldnt run but beter |
[2012-05-27] A Google User: Great Tho it is a bit buggy I have managed to finish this game. So its not impossible albeit with the bugs it took a few attempts with both the trapdoor and getting the huffle in the cage with the cheese not working right. |
[2012-05-12] A Google User: great idea way too easy took just an hour to complete needs to be alot more of a typical dizzy adventure, like of old!!!!!!!!! |
[2012-05-11] A Google User: Dizzy potyf A bit buggy on ice cream sandwich. No way to quit out but the home button and then cancel through task manager and jokingly short for a dizzy game. I enjoyed what little time I did play of it and if they were to re-release say treasure idland/fantasy land or magicland dizzy I would definitely buy them |
[2012-05-11] A Google User: dizzy not bad |
[2012-05-05] A Google User: Glad i ignored the reviews. Maybe its been fixed. All i know is that on my Note it works well. Spoke too soon! Weird graphical glitches broke my game. Luckily a reboot fixed it and i didn't lose my game progress. *update* way too short. |
[2012-04-30] A Google User: Great Really enjoyed this game. Worked fine without any problems on my HTC one x. Although it remembers where you would be nice to have a save button. Please make another. There's nothing on google play like this. |
[2012-04-16] A Google User: Bland and buggy As many other people have said the game is very buggy, I've just finished it and in my last half hour playing it locked up 4 times. The game play itself is ok but solving a couple of the problems did take a trip to Google as the solutions were a bit obscure. It is as though they were doing well then ran out of time so just threw the last few bits in. The infinite lives were good at times as the controls weren't the best but it also meant there was no real pressure on the game. |
[2012-04-12] A Google User: Way too short On the spectrum this was great. With the introduction of autosave and unlimited lives its just too easy - finished in a couple of days, with no sense of satiafaction. On the bright side, no bugs to report on my galaxy s2. |
[2012-04-08] A Google User: Completed Completed the game, desperately hoping for further updates / levels as it was a paid for app. |
[2012-04-08] A Google User: Now for the rest Worked perfectly on my gs2. Infinite lives make the game too easy, but it's still good to relive this classic. Just waiting for the others now! |
[2012-04-08] A Google User: Awesome A few bugs, but otherwise a great port of a classic game. |
[2012-04-04] A Google User: FULL OF GAME BREAKING BUGS, but a beautiful remake I have very mixed feelings about this remake. I've been playing it on a HTC Desire. The artwork and music is beautiful and how a HD re-imagining should be done. The game itself is also very enjoyable and exactly the kind of thing I'd play on my phone. If they remade the others I would buy them all and would love them to do a new one. However, this game is in desperate need of a patch. Some non game breaking bugs (on the HTC Desire at least) include the scenery not rendering quick enough for you to walk at normal speed. So you have maybe a 5th of the screen catching up. It did not effect my enjoyment of the game. What did however, was my character getting stuck in the scenery and unable to progress. This was not done by jumping wildly but simply by walking to the left when I needed to walk left. Even when reloading my save game Dizzy is still stuck. This appears to be an extremely common problem and it's difficult to complete a play through without it happening. There's a lot to love about this game and for the price it would get 5 stars for me, and I want to see more of Dizzy, but unless we get a patch to fix these problems I can only give it 2 stars and that's being generous. |
[2012-04-03] A Google User: Too short The game is fine but takes 15 mins to complete. Waste of money. |
[2012-03-18] A Google User: Mr ricky Would be fantastic but has lots of bugs.I'm stuck in some grass and can't get out.have to start from scratch.please sort out..... No? I wrote that over 2 months ago.cheers for ripping us all off!! |
[2012-03-17] A Google User: Works fine on Samsung Note None of the bugs mentioned by previous reviewers come up, the use of hints as punishment for taking too long is a cute way of implementing it, though I'm not entirely sure it's one I agree with given the explicit nature of them. The removal of the danger mentioned by other reviewers isn't a huge problem, Dizzy, since Treasure Island at least, has mainly been focused on the puzzles rather than navigation difficulties, which makes me question how explicit the hints are even more. Still, not a bad implementation, and hopefully will pave the way for new Dizzy games rather than rereleases and modernisations. |
[2012-03-07] A Google User: Sad What happened? Looks like a shockwave web game with all the graphic bugs! Was expecting better, would be better of installing a emulator to play dizzy. very poor code masters |
[2012-03-04] A Google User: Disappointing Full of bugs and too short. This is not the Dizzy Prince of Yolkfolk from your youth |
[2012-03-03] A Google User: Disappointed This is hugely dumbed down and inferior to the 8 bit versions of this game. Unlimited lives and no bats? Also a poor menu system. Please just release spectrum or cpc versions for android as this is almost a waste of storage space. :-( |
[2012-02-25] A Google User: Classic Old fan of the series so 5 stars. But sank into ground near cave entrance (boat screen) almost at the end of the game and due to save had to start from the very begining - so 4 stars. To everyone - jump over cave hole in this plase, don't just fall. To Codemasters - fix, please and add position alignment when saved game loads. Hope for Fantastic Dizzy remake :-) cause this one is too short. |
[2012-02-17] A Google User: A classic is back! It is great to have Dizzy back. Plays perfectly on Samsung Galaxy S2. Keep up the good work. I will buy any other Dizzy games in the future to. |
[2012-02-17] A Google User: RIDDLED WITH BUGS! WE PAID FOR THIS WHERE IS THE UPDATE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD |
[2012-02-10] A Google User: Lots of bugs Could be good, but lots of bugs. Not long enough or enough levels. Should be cheaper. Kept falling through the floor by trapdoor, even when its not open! HTC Sensation |
[2012-01-24] A Google User: buggy, too short and a let down buggy, xtremely short game and a let down - needs updating with more location than the couple in the game. get better games for less than 75p |
[2012-01-23] A Google User: Real shame I gotta say as an old school fan of Dizzy from the Spectrum and Amiga games that this is utterly disappointing. Fantasy or treasure island dizzy it is not. Loads of bugs in the android version. |
[2012-01-22] A Google User: Good update to original Plays well with a few clipping glitches. Very pretty graphical update over original. Shame it's so short to complete 100% in one sitting. Would love to see more Dizzy games tho... Magicland or Spellbound please! |
[2012-01-21] A Google User: Dizzy is broken, fix this please! I love Dizzy but this is buggy and unworkable. I had to stop half way through due to falling through the floor, losing key items and invincible enemies. Huff |
[2012-01-21] A Google User: Brilliant Zp hype aside, this game is very addictive and plays GREAT on a tablet. It combines platforming and puzzles with a pace great for the medium. Get it! Archos 101g9 turbo |
[2012-01-14] A Google User: Hoping for big fixes soon. Being a big Dizzy fan from the spectrum days I was delighted when this game was released, however after repeatedly being unable to play the game past a certain point due to a bug (thorn by the trapdoor), I gave up in frustration. I can understand that there a large number of Android devices on the market and it can be difficult to get applications to perform well on all. However by my own experience, and looking at all the other comments on here its clear that there are issues with this game. I hope code masters can release an update to fix it, until then I wouldn't recommend it. HTC Sensation. |
[2012-01-12] A Google User: Not bad, could do better :-) Game mostly plays fine on my XOOM tab, but when walking at the fastest speed there are lots of graphic glitches - you can see the individual background tiles being rendered and if Dizzy runs into an unrendered tile he'll either stop walking while the game catches up or, on occasion will drop off the bottom of the screen or get stuck. Also the game is RIDICULOUSLY easy! Unlike the original, you are given infinite lives so death in this version means nothing at all. If you get stuck, just hang around for a few minutes and wait for the star counter in the top left corner to reach zero and you'll be told exactly what to do next (this cannot be turned off). It is therefore impossible NOT to complete this game on your first go unless you get bored following the simple instructions and decide to shut it down. Die as many times as you like, and wait for the game to tell you what to do next if you get stuck. Hardly the makings of a great puzzle game! |
[2012-01-10] A Google User: Great to see Dizzy back Really fun game works without issues on galaxy nexus. A bit short but can't grumble for the cheap price. Look forward to conversions of the larger Dizzy adventures too. |
[2012-01-07] A Google User: Enjoyable fun game Played on a galaxy s2 and didn't have too many problems. Took around 90 mins to complete, which is not bad. Took me back to the days I had my amstrad cpc464, although I didn't have to wait for the cassette to load:) |
[2012-01-03] A Google User: Exciting at first, then highly disappointing Sadly unplayable on my Transformer. So many crashes, and now my game is corrupted because I was unable to move in any direction, until eventually Dizzy just drifted off the bottom of the screen. Such a shame. |
[2012-01-02] A Google User: DO NOT BUY THIS, ITS TOO BROKEN I bought this to relive my C64 days. First playthrough on my Galaxy S I couldn't use the thorn due to falling through the floor and dying. Started again on my Xoom and this time his movement bugged so now I can't jump and can only walk in a confined space. Even reloading the game makes no difference, so now played quite far twice and unable to complete. Total waste of time which is a shame, because it's actually pretty ok to play. This would be one star due to bugs, but it gets two stars because it rekindles childhood memories. |
[2012-01-01] A Google User: Good game. Experienced no bugs at all on gs2. Not full game tho, too short! |
[2011-12-31] A Google User: Unplayable Love the retro games, loved the Spectrum version all those moons ago. This can not be played in it's current form. Don't even get it for old times sake. Fix the bugs! |
[2011-12-30] A Google User: Riddled with bugs Extremely frustrating! Great at first, and a real delight to see Dizzy back, but the number of bugs that completely kill the game and force you to go back to the very beginning make this a real disappointment. |
[2011-12-29] A Google User: Buggy Great game enjoying it but the bugs are to much. Frustration comes not from the puzzles but bugs which isn't right. Once sorted will be worth 4 stars |
[2011-12-29] A Google User: Too many bugs |
[2011-12-28] A Google User: Lots of bugs. Can't even walk at full speed without screen badly glitching. |
[2011-12-28] A Google User: Glitches make this unplayable Sounded promising but fails to deliver; poor interface, glitches, refund please. |
[2011-12-28] A Google User: Extremely Buggy! HTC desire. Glitchy graphics, falling through world, crashes, Feint doesn't work. Just about playable but frustrating. Should be free until bugs fixed. |
[2011-12-27] A Google User: Very Buggy Great Game, too many Bugs. Falling through/getting stuck in floor, scrambled graphics, crashes. It looks like it could be a great game unfortunately it's just not playable without some serious updates. |
[2011-12-27] A Google User: Gutted Was made up when seen dizzy, can't believe how wrong uve got it. Full of bugs and not a pick on the original. Disappointed to say the least |
[2011-12-26] A Google User: okay but ok but that trap door is annoying and pretty easy and short to finish |
[2011-12-26] A Google User: Very buggy. Also, puzzles very easy and lots of walking from one side of map to the other, over and over. Nothing like the original Dizzy games. Poor. |
[2011-12-25] A Google User: Bugs Same issues with falling thru floors etc. HTC sensation. Would definitely give this 5 stars if the bugs were fixed. |
[2011-12-24] A Google User: Eggcellent : Just like the old games. Great! Works ok on Samsung Galaxy S2. |
[2011-12-24] A Google User: Good classic game but sooooo many bugs Great game. I remember the original version on the Sinclair Spectrum. Only problem is the huge amount of bugs and random closes. Screen turns black and get returned to the phones home screen. Unfortunately this makes the game unplayable. Using an Xperia X10i and an Xperia Ray. Same problems occur on both phones. Would mark it a lot higher if it wasn't for the problems. |
[2011-12-24] A Google User: Awesome game - Just completed this on a galaxy nexus didn't experience any bugs. Great game it brought back happy memories of the many hours i spent playing dizzy games back in the c64 and speccy days :-) |
[2011-12-24] A Google User: Dizzy in Bugland Would be fun if it wasn't so utterly bugged. Doesn't work on TF101 or X10i properly. Falling through floor, crashes, ARGH. If it's fixed it would be great, as it is I can't recommend it. |
[2011-12-24] A Google User: Good throwback Great to see Dizzy again, its buggy tho, no sound effects and the music is really annoying so playing it silently for now. Good game overall. |
[2011-12-23] A Google User: Stuck Gave a npc an item, then got stuck. Right at the end too. Waste of time, but pretty game. |
[2011-12-20] A Google User: Fed Up of the bugs and having to reload the game. Love all the dizzys so far. Please fix cuz it is a great game. But for now it sucks, really bad. |
[2011-12-20] A Google User: Got stuck and sank through the grass twice about halfway through the game and had to restart |
[2011-12-19] A Google User: Great game but buggy Until they fix the issue where dizzy gets stuck in the landscape its unplayable had to restart the game twice! Shame |
[2011-12-18] A Google User: Hateful hint system. Yeah there's the occasional crash, that I didn't mind, but the integrated hint system that automatically TELLS YOU THE ANSWER if you take more than a couple of minutes is a pain. It's a puzzle game! Don't tell me how to complete it! That's like an fps that kills all your enemies for you if you take too long. Option to turn it off please. |
[2011-12-18] A Google User: fantastic dizzy amazing to play this again after so many years. no bugs on my galaxy s2. hope they bring out loads more |
[2011-12-17] A Google User: Good but only one mission?! |
