[2012-07-13] Juice: Superb Best 2 bucks you can spend. Doesn't use Xperia Play's controller however. Still awesome and I hope Zeboyd has their other titles ported. |
[2012-07-13] Aaron: wouldn't even download, too late for refund I downloaded it, and then it said, "download from our servers?" I said okay, it never got past 8% of the bar before saying, "Failed to download" Unfortunately that ate up my entire 15 minute refund window. |
[2012-07-13] Geoff: Fun Funny and good |
[2012-07-13] Cody: Great game Works flawlessly on my international one X, and the game is great, a+ |
[2012-07-13] Andrew: Takes some time, but great! Took a couple tries to work. |
[2012-07-13] startrekdude: An ok port It seem a little unstable I had it crash on me in the first few minutes of playing but over all its an ok port I still prefer the pc version |
[2012-07-12] Kevin: Don't play until bug fix Game breaking bug, crashes randomly. Play at your own risk. |
[2012-07-11] Alex: Works fine on my nexus s Fun game to play. Controls take a little getting used to but not that bad. Lovecraft 4tw |
[2012-07-10] Kai: Force crashes during battle... Game is pretty much unplayable, played for twenty minutes or so and then it started crashing every time I get in a battle... |
[2012-07-10] TitusDeGroan: perfect, finally on the right system;) it's fine on my Note now, could live with an option to hide the ugly a and b buttons;) |
[2012-07-09] wavigravi: Crap port Crashes everywhere |
[2012-07-09] Sergey: Fun game, terrible controls Absolutely no effort seems to have been made to make the controls phone-friendly beyond slapping on some virtual buttons and calling it a day. Scrolling through multiple levels of menus with a virtual joystick is a miserable experience. At least the game itself is solid, despite the extremely lazy port. |
[2012-07-09] Vadym: So much crash I was excited too. Crashes all over. Even crashed the tablet. Baaad. |
[2012-07-09] bc: Such potential! Yes, buggy. Crashes. But! I can tell this will be worth the wait for fixes. |
[2012-07-08] Elaine: Great retro RPG |
[2012-07-07] jachbla: Disappointed Screen upside down and too late for refund. Not happy. |
[2012-07-07] Micke: Fine except the controls. Seems like a fine port, except for the controls for moving around which sucks. |
[2012-07-07] nigeldroid: Addictive, but the cure for a rainy day Playing this on my Galaxy S3 has had a few hangs usually after starting it up for the first time, but this is easily overlooked when you consider what a top notch game this is. The humor, the gameplay, its just perfect. If you are looking for an old school RPG, you have found it, just buy it for $2, there are no better deals out there. Cant wait for the penny arcade game thats in the works too |
[2012-07-07] Juanita: Awesome! This game is awesome funny! A must buy. |
[2012-07-06] Anthony: Acer A500 Tab Woot! Very entertaining. First retro rpg on Android I've played that was worth reviewing. |
[2012-07-06] Levi: Great port, poor controls Great port. Everything seems near perfect. Except controls. This game really needs a virtual dpad. It is awkward and clunky to move around right now. It's the only thing keeping it from a 5 star in my book. (Running Jelly Bean 4.1 on my Galaxy Nexus) EDIT: Very unstable after initial run. Now only loads once out of like three times. EDIT 2: still wildly unstable, no update here. EDIT 3: Working now, still would like a different control scheme but games is really fun! |
[2012-07-06] sN8f1St: Now GT-I9300 compatible Since the last update this now works on a stock S3. Good work Devs! Nice to play a game that's back from the old school. I love it! No problems so far as well... |
[2012-07-06] Ryan: Terrible, bad choice Cool game on pc and xbox, was actually waiting for a handheld version. To bad its next to impossible to play. Takes to long to download into servers, no refund, so just skip until they fix this. Also why should I need to sign into a server for a paid game, :/ |
[2012-07-05] John: Crashing Still crashing, but now randomly in battles when attacks occur. I Looking forward to playing... 7/4/12 |
[2012-07-05] Donald G.III: IA IA! ! Such a great and fun way to have fun with the mythos! |
[2012-07-05] Alex: I wanted to like this so bad. I had been eying this game on Steam for a whole and when I saw it for Android I jumped at it. Unfortunately, I can't play for more than 5 minutes without the game crashing during combat (usually when my companion takes an action). The dev seems to have taken quick action with other bugs, but I can't give a high score because as it stands now, the game is unplayable. |
[2012-07-05] chiefz0r: Poorly made Update made me redownload all of the data again...seems a bit ridiculous. Also the controls could use some work |
[2012-07-05] tucsonsduke: Great game but... The game crashes at fights after the most recent update. Droid bionic. |
[2012-07-05] Adam: Great game I never had issues with it crashing, but it does seem to slow down considerably at some parts. Lots of fun to play, I only wish it had more to do with the actual Cthulhu mythos, plenty of Lovecraftian monsters they could've used. |
[2012-07-05] Chris: Crash issues on ICS GS2 Loved this on the pc, but unfortunately here it crashes the moment I attack in the very first battle. Come on Devs, this should be a solid hit for the Android, not wallowing at 3 stars; sort it out! |
[2012-07-05] James: Hilarious fun! The dialogue is great, the level grinding isn't too bad, and the save mechanism helps a lot. The movement controls aren't as fussy on my HTC sensation xl as others are reporting. Well worth 2 bucks. |
[2012-07-05] Rick: Works sometimes Freezes at random moments. |
[2012-07-05] Anonymous: hangs at first battle looks amusing once some bugs are fixed |
[2012-07-05] Thomas: Fantastic game! This game is amazing, hilarious story, retro style graphics, a very rewarding combat system, each fight feels difficult and unique. At first I didn't like the control scheme, but after some time with it, the controls are very smooth and intuitive, much better then having an ugly virtual D-pad on the screen. Excellent work, definitely buy this. |
[2012-07-05] Greg: Freezes at title screen Freezes at title screen on htc desire. Please fix |
[2012-07-04] the 7/4/2012 : Awesome app However, you guys do need to make the data part of the apk so it uses Google's servers, and so it doesn't voice the refund period. |
[2012-07-04] ryan: Great game, buggy app. I really want to rate it higher based on the actual game, but on my galaxy nexus it's unplayable. It crashes up start up, when i get past that crash and into the hands it crashes in battle. Hopefully one day these bugs will be fixed but right now i would not recommend this purchase. |
[2012-07-04] ruben: Good game bad glitches The game runs incredibly slow on EVO LTE makes gameplay barely playable |
[2012-07-04] Eric: Hell yes! I had updated my phone a while back to gingerbread and had no problems with the game. I'm sorry for those that did as this is an excellent game! The controls just take a little getting used is all. |
[2012-07-04] Kurt: Hilarious Fun All issues fixed on galaxy nexus. Fun old school rpg. Hilarious dialog |
[2012-07-04] Dave: Poor Controls, Buggy Download Still can't get the game to download fully on my HTC Desire HD (it fails every time it gets to about 75%); when I did manage to get it working on my Transformer Prime I discovered that the game is essentially unplayable due to the terrible movement controls. What a waste. |
[2012-07-04] Adrián Román: Game's really good but... The controls. What were you thinking devs? They are not intuitive, and so far I haven't found a consistent logic in how they work. Give this game a virtual joypad, period. Fix the controls and ill give this game the full 5 stars it deserves. |
[2012-07-04] Matthew: Doesn't work on Acer A200... Freezes on title screen on Acer Iconia A200. Even after update. |
[2012-07-04] Dennis: Works well Works pretty well on my Galaxy S2 4g. Haven't had any crashes. The game is hilariously entertaining too. |
[2012-07-04] Derrick: App works Start-up crash fixed. Great game worth every penny. |
[2012-07-04] Daniel: Won't work properly on Xperia arc s It loads up, but the virtual buttons seem to have a 1 in 100 chance of working, and the swipe to scroll function doesn't work at all. I can't even get past the text at the start of the game, let alone play it. Hopefully issues are fixed, as I have the game on steam and love it. Would love to be able to play it on my phone. |
[2012-07-04] yellow: Now works on the Galaxy S3! :) Frequent updates from developers. |
[2012-07-04] Mike: Boo Doesn't use APK expansion files. So you have no chance of playing this prior in the fifteen minute refund period. Crashes like crazy too. Latest update doesn't event get past loading screen |
[2012-07-04] Christopher: Sgs3 I can get past the title screen now on sgs3! |
[2012-07-04] Justin: Fixed: Crashes on startup (DROID RAZR) Game no longer crashes at the splash screen |
[2012-07-04] Cameron: A good start Already own on 360 and Steam. I would prefer a larger text option for us with 720p screens. Also would like to see the virtual buttons to be cleaner looking. Would like to see a virtual d-pad as an option. Needs app2sd option. |
[2012-07-04] Nanners: Toshiba Thrive Runs well, excellent game, wish the touch contorls weren't swipe based. |
[2012-07-03] Heathen: Controls could be a bit better Game is awesome though I want it on Google tv |
[2012-07-03] Jin: Fun game but horrid controls Make sure, auto rotate is on and your device is in landscape mode before running the game. Funny storyline but needs to add on screen dpad. |
[2012-07-03] James: Loved it on PC Crashes immediately on startup. Running 4.0.3 on a Galaxy S2. Will change rating if fixed. |
[2012-07-03] alex: Very good game. This is a awesome game, but it really needs a virtual d-pad. It loses some of its charm when your hero starts running in circles because of tiny pressure changes on the screen. |
[2012-07-03] Spencer: Good, but flawed. |
[2012-07-02] Daniel: Great game, but.. Crashes on start-up, unless my phone is in upside-down landscape. Also experiencing random crashes while playing, on occasion. However, the game itself is rather brilliant, and definitely 5-star material once all the bugs have been squashed. |
[2012-07-02] Hadar: One star less for controls. Sweet as sweet can tentacly be. Funny dialogs and story, goofy old school combat system with NES style combos... great port overall, but as said could sure use a dpad. No deal breaker, but still loses one star for it. |
[2012-07-02] Jason: Really great It was fun on xbox live but it's even better suited to a mobile platform. A big adventure with lots characters to interact with. Lots off fun and great value. |
[2012-07-02] Wobble: Rotation bug still present but playable and awesome Just hold your phone upside down landscape when launching might take a couple trys but worth it :-) |
[2012-07-01] Cameron: Good but glitchy Runs just fine would be nice if they added exit via back button support and fix the upside down rotation |
[2012-07-01] Ling: Broken ATM :-( I loved this game on PC... So I knee what I was paying for. Sadly the game isn't even launching directly on my galaxy note ics... Display size is probably not getting set properly. Please fix soon... Ppl await. |
[2012-07-01] Brian: Stole my money. Nexus S. Won't load. Wasted to much time downloading for a refund. |
[2012-07-01] Tim: Please fix it! Patch? Where? Try to uninstall and reinstall, the problem still exist. |
[2012-07-01] Nick: Samsung Galaxy S3 Does not work even after uninstall. I recommend not to purchase this until the issues have been resolved |
[2012-07-01] Klugi, Michi: Could i refund? Always force closes |
[2012-07-01] Tom: Great 16bit parody RPG Control issues aside, this game has been a lot of fun. Heard about this game as an XBLA indie game, but never got to play it. As a Cthulhu and 16bit RPG fan, this game was almost made for me. The humorous tones made the story fun, while the rest of it is pretty nonexistent (it is a parody after all) but the concept is great. It is well suited for pick up and play (the save anywhere mechanic to regenerative hp/mp) and isn't too hard on the battery. The game is slow to load and controls are a bit twitchy tho. |
[2012-07-01] Stoneleaf: What patch No fix pushed out despite notes. Update review once payable or notes have some meaning. |
[2012-06-30] Cloud: Love this game. Great old school 16 bit romp. Great sense of humor. One off thing, it goes upside down if you don't set the rotation lock. Great game. |
[2012-06-30] Kirk: Not bad, not good. First the screen is upside down and second there are no options available for physical controls both of these are a let down and I haven't even started playing yet. Xperia play. |
[2012-06-30] Cristopher: Broken app. Waste of money. Do not buy. This app does not work. Crashes on my HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus every time I open in portrait mode or fight a battle. Thanks to long initial download, I couldn't discover this in time for a refund. If only zero stars were an option. |
[2012-06-30] fynflood: Tentacles for all! Start in landscape and it wont crash. |
[2012-06-30] Andy: Not working on A200 Iconia Can't get the game to work properly. Unable to move from screen to screen. Not cool. |
[2012-06-30] Squid, Silk: Constantly crashes! I have been waiting for this game on a smartphone forever and now I can't play it due to constant crashes. Please help us! |
[2012-06-30] Angelo: Great game/terrible app Since its release 2 days ago I have purchased two copies of this game. One on iOS and one for my android phone. Playing the game on iOS is a blast. Very well made RPG. I'd love to be able play it on my phone HTC phone, but unfortunately it is unplayable. Crashes every single time at the first battle. A real shame I hope this gets an update soon. |
[2012-06-29] Zombie: Nice Glad it came to the Play Store as well.. Anyways great game with nice humor |
[2012-06-29] Kyle: Noooo! Force closes before I can play. Android 4.1 |
[2012-06-29] the 6/29/2012 Does not work on S3 Keeps crashing at startup. Took too long to download data so I can't get a refund. It's a brilliant game on pc and I hope it's updated asap so I can change my review. |
[2012-06-29] Juce: Finally, Spreading Madness on the Go! If you love 16-bit RPGs, if you love comedy, if you love madness, you will love this game. CStW is the second game from indie darlings Zeboyd Games, creators of the next Penny Arcade games, (ported to Android by TinkerHouse) and it's easily worth the price of entry for a brief but deep 2D RPG that plays like it belongs on one of the consoles of yore. Spectacular combat and graphics are the highlights of this game, followed closely by its comedy value. (No technical issues yet on my Galaxy S2 Epic Touch 4G. Bummer to those having technical problems. :( Hopefully they'll get them fixed soon.) |
[2012-06-29] J: Quality quirky RPG delivers. A really funny experience that lets the player make fun decisions. Controls are intuitive but could be a tad smoother. Would appreciate gamepad support. Freezes on opening sometimes |
[2012-06-29] scragar: Never got to play Took forever to download data, which I don't mind, but after it first started(running upsidedown?) I minimised it to read a text, and not it crashes on restarting. |
[2012-06-29] Adam: Game upside-down. Can't get it to turn the other way so that it will be comfortable for me. Also can't map xperia play controls which is very disappointing. I'll be uninstalling until I can map physical controls and play it in a proper orientation. |
[2012-06-29] EvilGold: Crashes at first battle Love the game on steam, but both I tried this on both of my devices and it crashed at the first battle. Also make it work on nexus s please. |
