Conflicts: Operation Barbarossa is a highly rated turn based strategy game which takes place on the Eastern Front during the Second World War.
You are in the command of the German WWII armed forces - tanks, infantry and air force units - and the object of the game is to conquer the Soviet Union as quickly as possible. To have a chance to seize the top spot in the Hall of Fame you need to skillfully encircle scores of Red Army infantry units with your panzers, while battling both the feared T-34 tank units and the notorious Russian weather.

In order to be a victorious general, you must learn to coordinate your attacks in two ways. First, as adjacent units give support to an attacking unit, keep your units in groups in order to gain local superiority. Secondly, it is rarely the best idea to use brute force when it is possible to encircle the enemy and cut off its supply lines instead.
One of the compliments that this wargame has received is that many users have compared it favorably to the classic strategic board games by Avalon Hill and GMT.
If you want to test this WWII game, a LITE version is available for free. It includes all the features, but the game will stop after you have reached over 30 VPs.

Am playing a campaign on 'Very Easy' and am facing a veritable wall of powerful enemies. This game was clearly made for very experienced players of this genre. |

Thank you also for NOT including an undo button as it removed the temptation to cheat. All I want now is a multiplayer version that allows me to send moves by email to my mates. |

[2012-12-26] A Google User: Addictive gameplay, it lacks a few things that would make it great but it can be fun to play. It needs sound, graphics depicting the battles would also help justify the price, it is hard to understand many aspects like how you earn certain resources which would help add strategy to the game, being able to take back a move within your turn would also be good, as many hours as I played it I can't see any reason to buy the others as I assume they are the same game with a slightly different playing field. As it is now I don't see why the game costs more than .99 cents or what my motivation is to buy Normandy or any other versions. the free version is way too short and why isn't there a free version for each game ?, after finishing the game I feel like what do I do now' there needs to be some kind of reward once you win, either a discount on another version or a pictorial, or animated sequence, some kind of celebration or parade etc.. just sort of ends unceremoniously. To me it seems like a good start but it has a long way to go and again I find it irritating that it costs $2.99 when it lacks so much try the trial version, until major changes are made. It doesn't have a replay appeal, so once you finish it you feel like what now ? Bundle them all together for 2.99. |

[2012-12-25] A Google User: Very good game with weaknesses. Playing on Medion Lifetab. Very good graphics and well-done unit symbols. Readily adjustable scree hex size. Quite good AI. Not being able to undo a move is BAD! It is just too easy to make a simple mistake; fix please. |
