Find out the proper speed limit for your local roads, or wherever you visit, with Speed Limit, the fun Android app from wikiSPEEDia.org. WikiSPEEDia, the world speed limit database, gathers the GPS coordinates of every speed-limit sign found by users all over the world. Speed Limit contains 27,000,000 speed limits from their open-source, constantly checked and edited database, including back roads missing from standard GPS systems.

Edit your own records if you find a sign which needs correction. Pay attention to Granny, who will let you know if you're exceeding the speed limit--and won't stop nagging you until you slow down (or turn off her taunts in the app's settings). Cast a quick glance at the posted speed as you drive; if the number turns red, please slow down.

Rally your local car club, Girl Scout Troop, School Fundraiser group to log speed limits in your area. Its easy and fun. ----Usage-----------

1. Add the widget
2. Tap on the Speed Limit Sign to turn it on. It will now change as you drive.
3. If the speed limit is wrong, tap again. This brings up submit screen.
4. Change from MPH to KPH in SETTINGS.

To save precious battery, the app will turn off after 1 minute of not-moving.

Analog/Digital Mode: There are two apps, in the companion app called SETTINGS, you can change from Analog to Digital.

Analog Mode: Steampunk mode. Shows three needles.
Black is the Speed Limit.
Orange is speed.
Green is distance to next signs ahead of you.
Purple is distance to next sign behind you.
Odometer can be set in Companion app called SETTINGS.

Granny screams at you if you drive bad. Six annoying voice-taunts plus disturbing granny-images. See if you can find the bazooka-granny.... Contains speed limits from wikiSPEEDia.org. Has all 27 million US roads and over 36 million speed limits worldwide. Easy to edit wrong speedlimits for your personal use. Makes a great safety-project for passengers and drivers alike.

To use:
Just drive around. It takes a mile or two, but eventually the black-needle shows the speed limit. The red-needle shows your speed. To add a sign that is missing, just tap. They are automatically added for everyones benefit.

To edit:
Tap the screen to change the speedlimit (L=dn, R=up, 0=delete) To silence grandma, tap on the screen while shes visible.

Now you can see the speed limit while running other apps. Seven modes: Acceleration gages show how much of a lead foot you have. Speeding ticket amount shows the ticket laws for US, Norway and beyond. Speed maps show you areas you drive and helps you edit your speed limits. Change from Mph to Kph in the Settings. This speedometer tells you what you really want to know:
HOW MUCH OVER THE LIMIT AM I DRIVING???

Who cares about your speed,
"just help me drive 15 over the limit".

In the picture above, the black needle shows the speed limit is 65 and the orange needle shows how much over the limit you are traveling, e.g. 15 over the limit. Note, the orange needle is amplified by x10 so you can see it... In this example it shows 150 signifying 15 over.

This app uses the worlds largest speed limit database, "WikiSPEEDia.org". If you see a speed limit that is wrong, tap on the screen to move the black needle to the proper speed.

This app is for MPH roads only. If we get enough response, we will ship a KPH version.
