mobileGRIB (v. 1.4) Разработано n3bul4 |
mobileGRIB is a GRIB2 viewer for Android. It enables sailors and meteorologists to have detailed weather information always available. This is done by downloading GRIB files of any region of interest. Source for the Gridded Binaries is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Forecast times and variables can be chosen from pressure, wind arrows, temperature, cloud cover, humidity and precipitation for the upcoming 8 days between a resolution of 1° x 1° or, for even more detail, 0.5° x 0.5°. By selecting only what the user needs, this procedure will keep the size of the downloaded GRIB file low, making it especially convenient for low bandwidth regions covered only by Edge or GPRS networks, or simply regions with low cellular coverage.
Downloaded map tiles will be cached for offline use. This is why we highly recommend our users to browse through the desired area and zoom level before going offline, in order to always have the map tiles cached for offshore use.
Upcoming features:
* L and H signs for pressure
* Isotherms
* Waves
* Windmap
* Combined numerical data
* Weather Animation
* 16 days forecast
* and much, much more to be added..stay tuned!

[2013-03-15] A Google User: Don't go to sea with out this. Having the most up to date information prior to setting sail is with out doubt a great benefit. Comparing the actual conditions at sea against the forecast is a good way of predicting where the winds will be and avoiding being in the wrong place. Even when crossing oceans the long forecast are usually right in showing what's coming but not so good at precisely where and when. Plotting the changes helps understand and predict where and when the weather will be. Would like to see coloured isobars. Excellent. |

[2013-01-01] A Google User: Pocketgrib is better I am a sailor and have been using the paid version of mobilegrib for a year or so now. I just found Pocketgrib which animates, shows multiple layers at once, and can show data for any local as graphs or tables. Pocketgrib is well worth the $6. I have been hoping for an update to mobilegrib that gives me animations and it has not come. |

[2012-12-23] A Google User: Lacks advanced features This is a good basic viewer however it lacks more advanced features such as animation, meteograms (graphs) and support for weather models other than GFS that better apps like PocketGrib have. |
|
[2012-10-14] A Google User: Great app Asus eee . Works as it should, great info. Like other feedback would like a simpler way to scroll fwd in time,especially with the wind arrows. |
|
[2012-09-09] A Google User: Modified Forecast maps OK, but cloud cover is not accurate to actual weather or PC grib. One year down the line and still no promised update. Animation would be good addition but seems unlikely! |
|
[2012-08-19] A Google User: Almost there Works well, but lacks some features. Shame there is no wind map, this is an important function for real use. Also being able to adjust the time to local would be helpful. Listed as a future feature but seems to have slowed in development (last update Sept 2011). |
|
[2012-07-26] A Google User: Room for improvement At first sight, it looks nice. Graphics are good, controls are easy to learn. What is lacking most, is an indicator of the date and time of the data that is shown. |

[2012-06-30] A Google User: Grib files Grib filed stopped working so had to unistall and repay....any explanation |
|
[2012-06-29] A Google User: Lousy App - doesn't work at all Although said to be fully compatible with my HTC Sensation Z710e, it simply doesn't get off first base, with no information coming in at Fetch Data command despite good WiFi connection, etc. Can anyone assist with getting this thing to work? |
|
[2012-06-21] A Google User: No animation Just got it but i'm really disappointed that it doesn't allow me to make a animation like usgrib. Its terrible to have to go to the menu to see the data step by step. Animation is a simple function that's the essence of grib files analysis and should definitely be part of this software. Hope to see an upgrade soon! |

[2012-05-28] A Google User: good app, needs tweaking App is stable and works reasonably well, but could use some tweaks. For example, it would be nice to have the wind barbs color coded, the forecast period shown in local time with the day of the week (Mon, Tues, etc.), and some on-screen buttons for changing between forecast periods (now you have to use the volume keys). In terms of bigger added features, it sure would be nice to have gulf stream current forecasts. Being able to display multiple layers at once would also be very nice (so i could see wind and rain together, for example). |
|
[2012-05-01] A Google User: Displays gribs but very basic A good start but needs improving. Would like to be able to scroll through times without having to go into the menu everytime and would like to be able to display wind and pressure at the same time. |

[2012-04-14] A Google User: Doesn't work On tmo galaxy sii. Downloads wrong coords I think, shows nothing. Worked on my old phone. |
|
[2011-12-25] A Google User: Does what it says TF101 Running great on my Asus tablet |
|
[2011-06-30] A Google User: 1.3 is good. Nice useful lightweight app. Time sequence would be useful or some control to cycle through the time slices from the main screen. |

[2011-05-09] A Google User: When all the upcomings are implamented it will be a great app. Another surgestion is to be able to view wind and pressure at the same time. |
